Entertainment and sports program.

Our holiday in Corfu from 06/26/13 to 07/10/13.
Rested with a girl from 06/26/13 to 07/10/13. We flew via Natalie Tours. We were met at the airport, handed out envelopes with information and put on the bus. Guide - Evgenia. I didn’t like the fact that Evgenia didn’t go with us to our hotel. The first 2 hotels (Kontokali Bay, Imperial, 5 * hotels) she went out with the tourists, escorted them to the reception, at the 3rd Nautilus Barbati hotel, Evgenia said: "I'm leaving here, then you yourself. The hotels will be in this sequence. .." and began to list the names of hotels. By the way, in the first 3 hotels, a total of 10-11 people came out, i.e. most of the tourists were on the bus. That's how we went in suspense, as if not to pass our hotel. The driver spoke English, but for some reason did not consider it his job to announce the names of the hotels. Fortunately, we were not far away, one hotel from the Nautilus was our Corfu Residence.
Hotel: Corfu Residence is located at the foot of the big mountain on the island of Pantokrator. It's quite a steep climb to the hotel. At the reception we were met by the hostess of the hotel Angela, registered and asked to wait an hour until we were settled. I note that we had arrivals and departures in the morning, but we were not offered breakfast either on the day of arrival or on the day of departure.
We waited for a room for about an hour and a half, and that was only because I approached Pavlos (a hotel employee who speaks and understands Russian) and personally asked us to check in faster, because. we were very tired, the rest of the tourists who came with us waited longer.
The hotel consists of several small buildings - houses (the houses are located like a "ladder", so some rooms direct view there is no sea, or the house standing in front interferes). We got a chic 2-room suite with a direct view of the sea (in Natalie's voucher we have written studio standart sea view), room number 11 (we could see Albania and the southern part of Corfu). The size of the room is very large, about 50 square meters.
The first room is a living room with a kitchen, there are 2 sofas opposite each other, a coffee table in the middle, the kitchen is fully equipped with appliances and utensils. There is an electric stove and oven, a refrigerator, even a hood, dishes: table spoons, dessert spoons, forks, knives, glasses, cups, plates, saucers. There is no kettle, but there is a coffee pot (you can boil water there if necessary). Bar counter, instead of a table and 4 chairs. The living room also has air conditioning and a TV (there were no Russian channels).
The second room is a bedroom, with a large double bed, 2 wardrobes, a mirror and a table, there was also a bedside bench and 2 bedside tables with lamps, a picture hung above the bed. The mattress for us was hard (spring), but we solved this problem by placing a blanket under the sheet (there are 3 blankets in the closet). The furniture is not new, but everything except the cabinets is wooden. The bedroom also has air conditioning.
From the bedroom and from the living room there is access to the balcony. The balcony is as big as the room. The balcony has a dryer, a table and 3 chairs.
Between the living room and the bathroom there is a wide corridor, there is another wardrobe for clothes.
In the bathroom everything is standard - toilet, sink, mirror, bathtub. The plumbing is not new.
They cleaned the room for 3, we understand that the rooms are large, that there are few staff, but for 15 days of rest we have never wiped the floor, but the cleaners themselves washed the dishes. Towels and linen were changed frequently for the first week (towels every day, linen every other day), in the second week there were more people in the hotel and they began to change less often (towels after 2 days, linen was not changed at all).
Meals: breakfast from 8.00 to 10.30, dinner from 19.30 to 21.00 (if I'm not mistaken). Dinner was often delayed for 10-15 minutes, because of this, a large queue formed. There was not a big variety of food, but everything was fresh and tasty. For dinner, they gave fish 2 or 3 times, there was always meat, french fries. Rice and pasta alternated. Side dishes - vegetable salads, cheese. Fruits were given for dessert: watermelon, peach, melon, sometimes homemade cakes / pastries were prepared.
Drinks at dinner you order from the waiter, a bottle of water 1.5 liters. -1.5 euros, Pepsi / Cola 0.3 - 2 euros, wine 0.5 - 5 euros, a glass of juice - 3 euros. The bill is delivered immediately.
The pool at the hotel was cleaned every morning at 8.00. Room cleaning from 11 to 16.
Sea: 300 meters to the sea, you need to cross the road. You go to the sea, as it were, from a hill - 5 minutes, back to the hotel for 7-10 minutes, because. up a small hill. The beach is small, in the first week of our vacation there were few people, everyone fit in, in the second week it was no longer overcrowded. The beach is pebble, the entrance is also pebble, the sea is clean, pale turquoise. The first week the water was a bit cold, 20-22 degrees, but everyone swam), in the second week the water was already +25.
Sunbeds and umbrellas on the beach are paid - sunbed 2.5 euros, zones 2 euros. We sunbathed on towels, and bought an umbrella at a nearby store for 8 euros.
Infrastructure and territory of the hotel: the hotel does not have any territory, but if you go up the road from the hotel, you can admire the gorgeous views of Corfu. We walked along the sea, found 2 wild beaches.
There are a couple of taverns on the way to the beach and on the beach, but we didn't go there.
The roads of Corfu are serpentine and very narrow, there are no sidewalks, so getting to the nearest point is problematic (especially if with children), but going in one direction for at least 20-30 minutes.
Opposite the hotel there is a grocery store (prices are high, a bottle of water 1 euro, and in the LIDL store 6 bottles - 1.5 euro) and car rental (removed by the moderator) with a very friendly owner. On the 6th day of vacation, we decided to rent a car from them, took a Nissan Micra (automatic) for 3 days for 160 euros (for 1 day 60 euros) + gasoline. The same man gave us a map of Corfu and marked places worth visiting on it. We can say with confidence that he planned our vacation, we were in all the places that he noted.
Most of all we liked the Achilleion Museum, the entrance for adults is 7 euros, if with an electronic guide, then 10 euros, children under 6 are free. The museum is extremely beautiful.
Paleokastritsa has wonderful views, you can go boating in the gorges. There is also a monastery there, but be prepared for crowds of tourists.
The city center is very busy, even in the fiesta, prices in shops are 1-2 euros higher. It is worth visiting the old and new fortress, Liston street, central park and the port, for lovers, a museum of Asian art.
Since our beach was small, we really wanted to look at other beaches. During the whole vacation, we traveled at least 15 beaches and I can say with confidence that our beach is one of the best pebble beaches. We also really liked the pebble beach of Barbati.
But the most best beaches Corfu in the west is Glufada and Ag. Gordis Beach. These beaches are sandy, the entrance is also sand, the water is clean and warm. Only because of these beaches we rented 2 more cars and went to swim here, from the hotel to these beaches about 40 minutes drive (the second rented car was a Nissan Pixo on the handle (3 days -110 euros), and the third car again micra (2 days -120 euros)).
After dinner, we liked to come to the village of Ipsos and Dassia, where you can go shopping, go to taverns. The best store is called Mary's tourist shop in Ipsose, she has the most the best prices, 70% of the souvenirs we bought from her + if you ask, she can pack a souvenir beautifully.
Dassia has an excellent large Dassia shoppins centr store, after 18.00 there are discounts, we bought an excellent vase there for only 28 euros, and a leather bag for 20 euros!). Opposite there is an inconspicuous little shop where you can buy a leather belt for 1.5 euros and a leather wallet for 5 euros!
Fur coat shops are closer to Kerkyra, all the inscriptions are in Russian, I think that the staff also speaks Russian. We did not go ourselves, but we saw many Russians who bought fur coats. Prices for fur coats in the center of Corfu are 2.000-3.000 euros for a knee-length fur coat, without a hood.
We didn’t take excursions from Natalie Tours, they set very high prices, a sightseeing tour of the city 65 per person, an excursion to about. Bari - 150 euros per person etc. In Dassia, we walked along an agency that offers tours 2-3 times cheaper! And the most profitable thing is to drive by yourself, all the signs are there.
As for car rental, if possible, rent a car, we rented a car for the first time, so we spent more. If you order from Moscow, you get half the price. Unfortunately, in Nissaki, except for (removed by the moderator), where we rented, there was nothing, there are a lot of such offices in Dassia and the prices are lower (on the machine for a day 40 euros!). Gasoline costs, on average, 1.75 per liter, we refueled for 1.72, the cheapest we saw was 1.71 (their prices for gasoline are rounded to the hundredth, for example, 1.729, a kind of marketing ploy), you have to pay the tanker and it is customary to leave a tip .
As for other hotels, we were in Nissaki Beach, Imperial, Nautilus Barbati, Chandris - our tourists most often go there, if you want to hear our impressions, write in the comments.
Conclusion: Corfu is extraordinary quiet place, Very green Island. This great vacation for couples and lovers. With children, I would recommend to go to the west coast, they will be bored in Corfu Residence.

I flew with my husband, read reviews and none of the bad ones came true!!! They took the most cheap hotel, but in the end we got delicious food, an excellent room with its own huge terrace and floor-to-ceiling windows overlooking the sea! It’s delicious at breakfasts and dinners, I’ll attach a photo for you to see, the room is like an apartment, a good bath and toilet, a kitchen, a refrigerator, plasma, 2 sofas for relaxing, a bed with a comfortable mattress and clean bedding! In general, we are extremely satisfied!

I never write reviews, but I will write about this hotel so that no one will ever go there again. I have never had a more terrible hotel in all the years of my travels, and, it seems, no one has had anyone I met on vacation. And now in order. Arrived early in the morning as scheduled. The airport is very small, so from the bus you immediately get into the queue for passport control, they try to do everything quickly and then immediately get your luggage. Keep in mind that there is no luggage winding there, so on the way back, if necessary, stock up on either a cover or a film. We arrived at the hotel, instead of the promised half an hour, we drove an hour and a half, because with arrivals at hotels, so if you want to go faster, it’s better to take a taxi or an individual transfer. Check-in had to wait, of course, but at 12 alreadysettled, but in theory it is possible to wait until 14.00, especially in high season. And here the most "interesting" began. I was still lucky with the room, everything worked in it, except for the safe, but it was immediately repaired quite quickly. I had 311 number. But the rest, again, with whom I had a chance to talk, changed numbers. Either the air conditioner does not work (it hummed wildly for me, but then I got used to it, even though it worked), or the plumbing does not work, or there is no shower in principle, only a hole in the floor, and this, of course, is the sea on the floor later, or the windows go out to the garbage dump next to the hotel. Unfortunately, such dumps are all over the island. I would like to hope that the problem will be solved, since the island has an amazing sea, nature, and in general it looks terrible. In general, with grief, the numbers were changed in half, but this should not be in 4 *, in my concept. Further, while we were waiting for the settlement, we were offered to go to have breakfast. I personally have no complaints about food, I took breakfast and dinner, everything is delicious, BUT! The dishes there didn't seem to have been washed since the opening of the hotel. The dishes are dirty, the cutlery is sticky, the mugs and glasses are stained. I do not advise you to definitely take all inclusive, it makes no sense. In fact, food is included, but drinks will start, then one is not included, then another. And there are several taverns nearby, where you can have lunch and dinner quite cheaply and tasty. The attitude of the staff towards the Russians in the restaurant is quite boorish. Just in time for the question of all-inclusive, they immediately fly up to foreigners with the question of what you will drink (drinks at lunches and dinners only through the waiter), and lastly to Russians. The same thing with cleaning dishes, for foreigners instantly, we don’t leave until we leave, so the mountain will stand. And about the lunchbox, you should not take it. They will give you a rotten sandwich with a thin piece of ham and cheese, half-rotten fruit and water. This is all. Therefore, either quietly take food with buffet, or buy in the nearest store, the prices there are decent. As for cleaning, they cleaned it every day, changed towels, bedding too. But, as I understand it, it depends on the maid, other guys complained that they cleaned 1 time in 10 days, so if you don’t have cleaning, you have to complain. The bathroom has only liquid soap and gel, there is no shampoo, so either take it with you or buy it in the nearest store. The road to the hotel is really very steep, it is hard to climb, especially with a suitcase, but for me this is not a problem, for whom it is problematic, then keep in mind. There is a swimming pool, next to it is a bar and a terrace, which is nice to sit on in the evening. But, if you have windows overlooking this terrace, like mine, forget about the silence at night. The bar closes at 12 at night, but there will always be those who will yell there all night, no one makes comments to them. But I did not change the number, the main thing for me was that everything worked in the room. Nissaki is a village and in the evening there is nowhere to go at all. Therefore, if you need entertainment, discos, then this is definitely not an option. And if you want silence, then it is the most, but not in this hotel. There are a couple of shops nearby, where you can buy only the most necessary things. There are no pharmacies nearby either, so it's best to bring the essentials with you. And next to the store there is a car rental. About the beach. Walk to the main beach for about 10 minutes, from the hotel to the left along the road. There are no sidewalks, you have to walk on the road. Beach stones, very small, sun loungers and umbrellas are paid, like 4.5 euros. The people are just dark, everyone is lying on top of each other. But there are coves, you just need to find them, and there are few people there, or even no one at all. Well, about the meeting side Biblioglbus. We were met by a very nice girl Polina, then answered all the questions at the hotel. But the hotel guide Anastasia is something. At least there will be some kind of courtesy until you buy excursions, and then, even though she came to the hotel, and then not always, she doesn’t come up, she’s always kind of busy. Why she came, no one understood. In general, the island itself is very beautiful, the sea is amazing, excursions are also interesting. Again, lucky with the guide, name is Varvara, very interesting and easy to listen to. To sum it up, I would not recommend this hotel at all. If the budget allows, then you should take good five, if not, then better apartments. This conclusion is drawn from communication with people. By the way, all the locals are aware of this hotel, its ceiling is 2 * at best. If you have already managed to take a tour there, then just be prepared, and if not yet, then look for other options.

Booked a tour with Bibiloglobus. I arrived at the hotel at 6:00, settled at 14:00 in a room with a sea view (as booked), but in addition to the sea view, most of the review was occupied by the view of the pool, very noisy, the air conditioner did not work. There is no smell of four stars here, but it smells of garbage in the rooms overlooking the roadway and the garbage dump. I was moved to one of these rooms when I asked to be moved after the technician never bothered to visit my room to fix the air conditioner (perhaps the remote battery simply did not work). Of the Russian-speaking staff, only the maid. A. Zmeev does not even want to remember about the guide - the height of arrogance and inability to communicate with people. If we talk about excursions, it’s a personal matter for everyone, but if you own at least a basicEnglish, you can safely travel around the island on your own. Opportunities are great: car rental at every step, relatively inexpensive transportation public buses, which go according to a certain schedule, posted both at the bus stop in front of the hotel and at the reception. At the reception you will also find the timetable and the hotel bus to Barbati beach. The first time I meet that the bus from the hotel, which carries to the beach, is paid - 5 euros. In the morning he goes according to the schedule, and in the evening it’s not a fact that he will come to the beach for you at all. At the very least, I had to call the reception to remind me of myself and to be finally taken away from this amazing beach. The beach is really amazing, 10 minutes drive to it, 40 minutes walk - an hour, marked with a blue flag, very clean, sunbed and umbrella - 8 euros. The sea is warm, by the way, not the Adriatic, as written in one of the previous reviews, but the Ionian, the north of the island is washed by the Adriatic Sea, and Nissaki is East Coast. Nissaki beach is very small and not as clean as Barbati, a lot of people, near the Mitsos tavern, ordered Margarita pizza and orange juice - there was a feeling that the pizza from frozen dough was cooked and not thawed before starting to cook; the cheese does not stretch, as if it was just spread. But on the Barbati beach, the Piedra del mar bar with the same price tag, but with a completely different cuisine, tasty, satisfying, varied, with a huge selection of cocktails. Returning to the entertainment and excursion program, if you are not a pilgrim and are not ready to spend time on one excursion from 6:00 to 21:00 (Meteora) and think that you need to go to Italy not on day trip, but a separate tour, then the following tips are just for you. At the stop near the hotel, take the bus to Corfu, the capital (schedule at the bus stop and reception). After 50 minutes, you are dropped off in the center, on a small ring-shaped square. Get out there if you want to get to the temple of St. Spyridon and stock up on souvenirs, local drinks and everything that the island is famous for. Go out and tell any waiter of one of the taverns: "Saint Spyridon", he will tell you where to go, after passing through numerous souvenir shops, you will reach your destination. Take only green soap, - the advice of local knowledgeable people; traditional alcoholic drinks in half of the shops allow you to taste: kumquat tincture, like limoncello, is very sugary, ouzo is an amateur. I took a sample of the local red beer Corfu red beer, 3 euros 0.5 l (also retsina). Metaxa is also sold everywhere there. I really liked the kitchen utensils from the roots of the olive tree - the smell is amazing. If you go to Paleokastritsa, then on the same bus, without going to central square, you reach the next terminus - central bus station Green bus, where all routes are indicated, buy a ticket there for 2.5 euros to Paleokastritsa, take the bus on the platform corresponding to the route and in 50 minutes you are on one of the most beautiful places islands, the opening picture is just a feast for the eyes. Italian pizzeria Mediterraneo - great pizza, waiters, chefs - Italians. At the same place where the bus dropped you off, there is a table with the bus schedule in the opposite direction, sit down there, return to the capital at the bus station (by the way, there is a good Lidl supermarket nearby), buy a ticket to Nissaki, all the same 2.5 euros and go to the hotel. I bought the vaunted red wine Mavrodafni in Lidl - disappointed, cloying. Near the hotel there are two mini markets, to the left of the hotel. The pharmacy is only in Ipsos, 10 euros by taxi from the hotel, so it’s better to collect the first-aid kit to the maximum, there are a lot of wasps on the island, including breakfasts in the dining room, so don’t forget suprastin, iodine or peroxide. To visit another attraction of the island - the Love Canal in Sidari, take the bus to Kassiopi for 1.8 euros at the stop across the street from the hotel, there you change at the same stop for the bus to Sidari for 3.4 euros, after 30 minutes you are on place. But you should not be limited to Sidari only by this channel, take a taxi for 11 euros (if you, like me, are "on your own") to Acra Drastis - this is the northernmost point of Corfu; from the place where the taxi stands, go 15 minutes, the view is unforgettable. Down the winding road and there is a boat - for 13 euros, it will take you by sea back to Sidari, from where you will return to your hotel. On the way from the cape to Sidari, also about 15 minutes, the boat will take you so that you can take the most gorgeous photos from the best angles. Have a great holiday!!!

Healthyphoto). Upset, turned off, went to the reception desk, culturally in English they identified the problem. An employee diligently wrote it down: air conditioning is flowing in room 151, send a master. We returned to the room - the toilet flush stopped working, that is, completely. The husband in the pose of an acrobat, stretching out a shower from the shower stall, washed off everything that needed to be washed off, while the bay, of course, the entire bathroom. By the way, the watering can of the shower itself turned out to be broken, and jets of water hit the walls almost horizontally, intensifying the flood. Well, again the way to the reception, again everything is carefully recorded ... And then we see Polina, the guide Biblio Globus, in the lobby of the hotel, who took our bus to the hotels. We are here to help!!! - we paint everything in colors for her, she is at the reception desk: is it possible to change the number for tourists? With just working essentials? ...Alas, there are no rooms - the hotel is 100% full. In short, they brought us a tray (a long one, like a planter - see photo), and water poured into it all 2.5 days ... Okay, the toilet seemed to be repaired. The condo was fixed on the 3rd day. All right, let's have a rest. Well, how to say, rest, guys .... That's who wants to get enough sleep on vacation, then just don't settle for rooms that have their window / door directly onto the pool / there is a bar with it. By the way, there are a lot of such rooms here, this is the architectural idea of the hotel. So, bar until 12 at night. Loud music and very drunk European youth, then yelling until 2-3 at night. Sounds great through earplugs and double glazing. In a word, who wants to get enough sleep - you are not here. A few words about our direct hotel guide Anastasia Zmeeva. She spoke to the hotel manager and assured us that we would be upgraded to a very nice sea view room with apologies for the inconvenience. Indeed, the hotel made an attempt to relocate us on the 2nd day of our stay at about 2 pm. The choice was shown 2 rooms: one next to us. but there the condo refused to work at all. The second is the size of a matchbox, do not turn around ... We refused: thank you, of course, for your concern, but ... No, we could not offer anything else and we remained in our own. On the 3rd day, the condo was repaired, but on the 5th day the toilet broke again ... again they washed it off with a shower ... Another of the minuses (not very significant for us): they don’t give bottled water, we bought it in the market. It is very stuffy in the dining room, something is also sad with air conditioning there .. And on the plus side: the food is decent, the beds are comfortable, the views from the hotel terrace are beautiful. The husband's DR turned out in the end without the usual human amenities (air conditioning, toilet bowl, shower, silence). We didn’t pretend to be especially new and chic, we just wanted everything to FUNCTION. It seems like these are not very high requirements for a 4 * hotel, albeit a budget one and for a SUPERIOR room in it. By the way, from the point of view of customer focus, Biblio Globus represented by A. Zmeeva could be a little more generous to the "suffered" birthday man: a bottle of wine / fruit or, as an apology, some kind of preferences in the form of at least individual transfer to the airport... Well, we are already dreaming! :)) Dear compatriots, I am writing the entire review only about the hotel, because Much has been written about the island itself. It is certainly beautiful, the bays are so magical. There are no sidewalks for pedestrians. The hotel does not have a territory, only a pool and a bar with it. I wish you all pleasant and untroubled holidays! Service
