Early in the morning, at about 6:20 , the light on the bus was turned on and our guide, like a little Thai girl, woke everyone up with a loud bass overnight. As it turned out, we arrived at Trang province and the city of the same name Trang.

Surprisingly, everyone changed very quickly, possibly because they were hungry enough. Therefore, we got to our breakfast much faster than I expected.

Unusual breakfast

Since I was in the south and surrounded by Thais, I had to be ready for an unusual breakfast. For our meal, we went to one of the local Thai cafes, about a 10 minute drive from our hotel.

Several tables were organized for our bus. The breakfast was not traditional for a European, both in terms of the menu and in terms of its organization.

It so happened that everyone was automatically divided into groups and sat down at the tables, I ended up at the table with 6 Thai and one Thai. Breakfast reminded me of a family dinner. Various Thai dishes were brought to the center of the table, after which each took a little bit of what he wanted, while paying attention to whether everyone got it. There was not much food, but there was enough for everyone and it seemed to me that everything was fair and equal.

Thais call this breakfast Tim-sum... From the dishes we were offered: - grilled pork on charcoal according to the Trang province recipe. It looks delicious, but in fact, the pork is very sweet. Several types of Tim-Sum are something like dumplings with various fillings, shrimps, crabs, pork, etc., there was also fried tofu, something else similar to pancakes and fried crumpets and, of course, boiled rice. Breakfast without rice for Thais is not breakfast.

Sea excursion

After breakfast, we went to the port, where a ship was waiting for us and others. Since this excursion was not personal, in addition to our group, there were quite a lot of people there, so our boat was completely packed, as far as my memory serves, in total there were about 60-70 people.

The first place we went was. This is one of the wonders of Thailand, a lake surrounded by cliffs, which can only be accessed through a cliff passage through a dark underwater cave. Sounds intriguing, doesn't it ?!

According to my feelings, the length of this cave was about 150-200 meters, inside is complete darkness. We went to the cave in a locomotive, one after another, firmly grasping our partner in front. The first to dive into the water was the guide of our ship, who was the main guide in this cave. Then we took turns following him into the water. We were given the command to hold on tightly to each other and in no case break our chain, otherwise there may be losses, because the cave is dark and dangerous. From this, the female sex became even more frightening, but there was no turning back and we all swam inside this black hole.

Dead silence reigned inside the cave, only sometimes the screams of women or the conversations of some comrades were heard. It was so dark there that even the tip of my nose or a finger brought close to my eyes could not be seen.

As we walked through this cave, I thought about those blind people who had never seen the light in their lives. I think each of our group was able to feel blind and understand what a happiness it is to see the light that surrounds us. The sensations were indescribable, at such moments you begin to appreciate what you have and what others do not.

After a few minutes of our journey, we saw the light, everyone was overwhelmed with great joy, and after a couple more, we found ourselves in this amazingly beautiful and at the same time unusual place.

There were a lot of people, so it was impossible to appreciate all the splendor of this quiet place, but I think everyone got a pleasant feeling.

Here we were given approximately 15 minutes for swimming and taking pictures, and then we headed back to the ship, the same way we got here.

Koh chia- this is one of the most beautiful islands in Thailand, here we were awaited by white sand and clear azure sea. Unlike other islands, there were not palms around us, but pine trees.

It's a pity that we were given only 30-40 minutes to enjoy this wonderful place. Unfortunately, the allotted time quickly came to an end and we had to return to our ship, where lunch was waiting for us.

By that time, I was so hungry that I completely forgot to take a photo. As far as I remember, we were given fried chicken leg, rice, boiled vegetables, and for dessert coffee with banana pie.

After the meal, we went further on our sea adventures. This time we sailed to the islands Koh ma and Koh Ngai... In these places there was no beach shore, so we swam in the open sea and looked at the underwater world through the masks that were given to us on board our ship. To my surprise, there were so many fish here that a piece of bread thrown to the input evaporated in a matter of seconds.

A large number of people gathered to take a look at these creatures. I decided to swim in this aquarium, but in order not to scare away the fish, I bought a piece of bread from the ship's crew and carefully plunged into the water. Having sailed a few meters from our ship, I scattered bread around me, and in a few seconds I was surrounded by a large flock of these creatures. There were so many of them that sometimes, instead of bread, they nibbled at me, and I managed to feed some of them from my hand. As soon as the bread ran out, I swam to view the underwater world of these amazing places.

I didn't see anything special here, but I got positive impressions, as I love to swim and look at all sorts of underwater delights.

Once everyone had sailed and returned to the ship, we headed back to the mainland. These sea adventures were enough for one day, so no one was disappointed.

The only thing is that not all guides could get the pleasure that we had, since some of them either looked after things or organized our tour. And some did not even have the desire to go out into the scorching sun, since almost all of them are terribly afraid of darkening.

Back on the ground, we boarded our bus and went to the hotel.

Our hotel was called Thumrin Thana Hotel as it seemed to me - it was one of the most tall buildings in Trang.

I liked the hotel, clean spacious rooms, beautiful city views, large bathroom with shower and bathtub, and, of course, TV and air conditioning. In general, there is everything you need and even more.

We were given approximately 1 hour to rest and shower, and then a special New Year's Eve dinner and performances with the participation of our group were waiting for us.

This time there were no surprises with the food, everything was standard. Buffet, everyone serves himself, but the waiters were responsible for the drinks. To my surprise, there was no alcohol at all! 🙂 For the first time in my life, I attended a New Year's event where people did not drink alcohol, I was pleasantly surprised.

Although it seemed to me that the students, before starting to entertain us, somewhere knocked over a glass. They entertained the guests as best they could and sang and danced, and arranged various competitions, it was fun. But I decided not to sit for a long time and leave this event in order to look at the night city of Trang.

I went to the night market, which was almost closed by the time I arrived. In the market, as in every other that I have been able to visit, they sold food, clothes and all kinds of trinkets. The market turned out to be quite small, I walked around it in about five minutes, there was almost nothing to photograph.

There was nothing to do, so I just went to wander the streets of the night city.

While wandering around Trang, I came across a busy street. It was decorated with garlands and lanterns. It was the brightest place in the city, here I saw most of the people, as well as local youth. Apparently it was the most beautiful place at night, so people were drawn here.

After moving a little further, there was a dead silence, there were almost no cars on the roads, and all shops and houses were closed.

The only thing I came across on the way was a local pink cafe selling pale orange soup with noodles, blood, herbs and some other things. 🙂

At that time, I thought that if this place were somewhere in the forest or outside the city, I would definitely not go there, it was too inviting, and the hostess and the owner smiled very suspiciously. Although I'm in Thailand, it's kind of safe here.

The soup turned out to be edible and the hosts are really friendly and welcoming.

Where I was at that time, I have no idea. I left the cafe and moved on, the further I went, the quieter it became on the streets. There was not a single person nearby who I could ask for directions to my hotel. What was scary and funny at the same time was that even if I had met someone, I did not know the name of the hotel.

After about 15 minutes, I remembered that I have a room key, where I found the name of the hotel. Further on my way came across a bakery, the seller of which kindly told me that my hotel was around the corner.

I was pleasantly surprised and glad that I got there safe and sound. After sitting in the lobby for a few minutes, I went up to my room. It's time to sleep, because tomorrow a new day and another early rise awaited me.

And Satun. These places are very popular with tourists from all over the world, especially the islands such as Kradan and Muk. The beaches of the mainland of Trang province

However, there are also several beaches on the mainland that deserve attention, and first of all, these are the beaches of the northern part of Trang province, located in the area of Pakmeng and Hat Yao piers.

The main attraction of these beaches, in contrast to the beaches of the islands, with their white coral sand and light emerald water, are the surprisingly beautiful cliffs located at the edges of the beaches, as well as pleasing views of the neighboring islands.

The beaches themselves, at the same time, are not devoid of disadvantages, they are shallow and cut by numerous narrow bays (klongs), however, the disadvantages of these beaches do not outweigh their advantages, and first of all, the amazing beauty of the surrounding rocks.

It is difficult to say which of the rocks, the rocks of Pakmeng Beach or the cliffs of Hat Yao Beach are the most beautiful. However, it is easy to tell which beach is the most popular. Obviously, this is Pakmeng Beach, a place where several quite passable hotels are located, and for this reason is usually used by tourists as a base for trips to all the other beaches of the northern part of Trang province.

Both islands, Lao Liang Yai and Lao Liang Yai, are quite similar to each other, have approximately the same dimensions, 800 x 200 meters, and are located at an insignificant distance from each other (the width of the strait between islands does not exceed three hundred meters).

Since the Lao Liang Islands are located at some distance from the main tourist centers of Thailand, the number of tourists visiting these islands is small. Nevertheless, this does not prevent the Lao Liang Islands from being considered one of the most interesting places in the south of Thailand.

The sheer cliffs of the Lao Liang Islands, with a height of over one hundred meters, make a strong impression. The beaches, sheltered from the waves by a wall of cliffs, are very good. The coral reefs surrounding the islands are in excellent condition, and the corals themselves, like the colorful reef fish, are diverse and abundant. In other words, the Lao Liang Islands give the impression of a real tropical paradise, not yet affected by the influence of civilization.

This tropical paradise is definitely worth seeing, and it doesn't take much effort to get there. Local motor boats (longtail boats) regularly visit the Lao Liang islands, excursions come to the Lao Liang islands from the immediate vicinity, and on the Lao Liang islands themselves there is a tent camp ready to receive tourists who are not too attached to comfort. In general, there are no special difficulties in organizing a trip to the Lao Liang Islands, and everything depends solely on your desire to see new, beautiful, and not burdened with the achievements of civilization places.

Trang is a province in the south located on west coast peninsula of Malacca. The western part is washed by the Andaman Sea. The coastline is 119 km. Trang City is the provincial capital and main transportation hub. It is located half an hour from the coast, so no beach vacation speech is out of the question. The main infrastructure is concentrated near the railway station (we indicated its position on the map). There is a market, restaurants, shops, bars with live music. Most of Trang hotels are also concentrated here. It is quiet in the evenings, after 21-22 hours it is completely quiet. No nightlife, discos and girls available.

Transport in the city is well developed. There are songthaew pick-ups, air-conditioned buses, three-wheeled tuk-tuks (here called frogs for their shape), motorcycle taxis. V public transport travel is inexpensive, such as songteo from railway station to the bus station costs 12 baht. About the same number in buses.

In our opinion, it makes sense to stay in the city of Trang for 1-2 nights and use it as a transshipment base for trips to the islands of the province or to its beaches on the mainland. The main tourist infrastructure with motorbike rental and tour desks is located next to the railway station. Here you can buy a complex ticket (minivan + ferry) to almost any beach and island in the province (including little-known ones, such as or Ko Sukon).

Going to Trang, or rather to the islands of the province, is for those who just want to relax - lie on the beach, swim in the sea, go snorkeling and diving, in the evenings sit in a restaurant on the shore. Actually, this will limit the rest, since there are no significant attractions, no nightlife, no discos here.
