I go to the North Pole. On the atomic icebreaker "50 years of victory." Will you envy? Yes, I envy myself and still I do not believe ...

So, I was going to the Arctic, I thought there will be no wires ...

And I did not leave me and no one had segic me. Alyona's wife was on duty at the hospital, and Kesha opened one eye, moved the tail: they say, while. And about the good way and the speedy return - neither meow!

I came with a heavy suitcase on the site behind the house, I stand, waiting for the bus. Familiar - no one. It is understandable: five in the morning, they sleep familiar. And the unfamiliar too sleep ... I look, the seagull, close so much. Sits on asphalt and looks at me. Well, she's not just a village, it looks around and looks, it is she says hello to arctic seagulls! It can be seen, I understood the birds with a little that I go to the Arctic. Probably she is from there. Or maybe her mother or grandmother?

Then, in the Barents Sea, I stood on the top deck of the icebreaker and suddenly saw a seagull. She flew completely close. There was no one on the deck, and I shouted loudly:

- Hello from our White Sea!

And this other seagull understood me! She flew nearby, in parallel to our course, then waved the wings and turned sharply to the side.

I'll be back home, go out to the site at home at five in the morning and wait for a seagull. And she will certainly arrive - it will feel that I returned. And I will tell her that I fulfilled her request.

Only they did not have any friends at that time. And then God will know know what, seeing, how I talk to the bird.

Sole

I believed that I know Russian well. At school, there was no trouble with him, and my library is full of different dictionaries, and I often use them ...

In the room where I will live, I was spent by Senior Assistant Captain Sergey. It was hot, and I asked him:

- And how in number window opens?

- In your cabin porthole Opened in the same way as in others. - and showed how.

I was awkward.

"We must be attentive," I thought.

Stopping the stuff on the cabinets, along the steep stairs rose to the bridge and asked the captain:

- BUT stairs cool - to save space?

The captain looked at me carefully:

- It's you at the cottage you climb into the attic on the stairs. Here ladder. Moty on the mustache.

Yeah, it is clear, wound.

Already entered the open sea, the wave was small, but the floor was trembling under his feet. I am again to the captain:

Floor tremble under legs from work motors Or from the wave?

- not the floor, and deck, tremble from work machines. Clear?

Clear. Again, it means that it has come. Oh, how uncomfortable ...

To the navigator approached. Well, here, I think everything is in order.

- at what speed swim? how many kilometers at one o'clock?

- We go at eighteen speed nodes. A knot is equal to one mile.

Well, although we go to the sea, and the water is around, and I sat down in a puddle.

I look, the steering wheel in a high chair sits. One hand is holding the steering wheel, in the second - binoculars.

- A hard rule turn?

Steering wheel Easily turns. One finger can be.

Well, I'm leaving from here. What a shame! It is necessary to figure out where squeezers And How cook name.

Galley on the first deck, and coca name Nikolai.

Terrible! That neither the question is by. We need to ask the captain, maybe there is a marigory dictionary. But I did not ask, suddenly something is wrong again.

Then he found out that almost all maritime terms came from the Dutch, from Dutch sailors. So the Russian language I know!

Not hare

What is the name of a person who rides a bus without a ticket? That's right, hare. So I am a hare. Because in this tourist flight on the icebreaker I am without a ticket, that is, without tourist travel. And since we go through the sea, it means that I am a marine hare.

Yes, but the sea hare is a seal. It turns out, I'm a seal? No, I do not want to be seal.

And then, I'm here in a creative business trip. And everyone knows about it.

I go to the icebreaker and pier to everyone with questions, probably already tired already. Yes, I would not stick, but I will need to then tell, what kind of Arctic she is and what the ship is an atomic icebreaker.

In general, no I am hare. By the way, the hare and sissy with mustard is, as I now, will not!

Infinity

The sea attracts me - I do not know why. Probably with its infinity.

In the city, we walk, staring at your feet, we do not notice how the kidneys swell, then the greens are kidding, then the leaves are yellow.

From the windows of my apartment on the fourth floor, see above houses, but there they come back on the hill. From all sides of the hills.

There is no look in the city of Prostor, and the soul, like in a cage, rushes between the walls of the houses. Whether it's in the sea! Which way you look - there is no edge of the water. Top look - the sky is endless. And the sea below seems bottomless - a depth of four kilometers and imagine difficult.

And the soul here together with the seagull flies - then over the most waves, then, waving above the fock mast, ferry on motionlessly extinguished wings, caught the air flow.

And there is no edge of neither the sea, nor the sky, nor my thoughts. Fly, seagull, fly!

Heart and brain

Before you do something, do you think so? Think your head. And your head is on your shoulders, well, on the neck. In short, upstairs.

And the icebreaker has a head and brain. It is also at the top, on the captain's bridge. There are people, complex devices, computers. People looking at the instrument testimony, decide where and how to go icebreaker.

And also at an atomic icebreaker, as we have, there is a heart - a nuclear reactor. Even two. They are hidden inside the icebreaker for such powerful protection that they are not scary. And they are not afraid of anyone.

The reactor has a special substance - uranium. Like everything in the world, uranium consists of atoms. Atoms are split, excreted energy, and it moves the icebreaker. Clear? Probably not. Let's do differently.

Grenades love? Imagine that the grenade is an atom. If you start splitting it on the grains, what will happen? Delicate! You bought this tasty, reinforced our strength and ran to walk.

So the atom in the reactor is split and highlights a lot of heat. The heat warms the water, the water turns into pairs, the steam causes the engine, the engine turns the shaft on which huge two-meter blades. The blades rotate, as if repel from the water, and the icebreaker moves.

To move such a bullfin, as the icebreaker "50 years of victory", you need seventy-five thousand horses. Imagine? And atomic reactors should cope together. Well, here somewhere ... I saw atomic reactors, but, to be honest, I did not understand how they work. Maybe you will grow, become nuclear physicists and explain to me.

From summer in winter and back

On the day, when we left the Murmansk pier, there was an unprecedented heat - twenty-six degrees. Well, for you it may be, and the usual temperature, and for the northern city, standing near the student of the Barents Sea, is a lot.

Well, we moved away from the pier. And at first I went to the deck in a shirt with short sleeves, then I began to put on the pullover, then on the pullover sweater, then for all the warm jacket with the inscription on the back of Rosatomflot. Such jackets wear all members of the crew of an atomic icebreaker.

When you lie on a hot sand southern Sea With thirty fence, you want coolness.

So I am not one day, suffering from the heat, I asked:

- Oh, at least a little snow sprinkled. Oh, I can not more ...

Now on the deck it will take me snow, the wind permeates. I want to the cabin, in warmth. I went, cheeks from snow and wind are burning, the hands of the hands were crying, the handle could not hold. I am writing this after a hot soul and tea.

When we come back home, I first rent a jacket, then pullover, the berth moves down in a shirt with short sleeves ...

And I now know for sure: if it is hot for me again, I will never want to wish, so that I sprinkle me with a snowball. Winter and herself will come. And the summer quickly flies, especially with us, in the extreme north.

Mathematics

Tell me, how can I measure the distance? You will reply: kilometers. Someone will remember: miles. That's right, well done!

And if you hear: North Pole for twenty degrees north of Murmansk, you will probably think that in the North Pole is colder to twenty degrees than in Murmansk. Well, actually, of course, colder, but here it is about the fact that the North Pole further Murmansk is twenty degrees.

Like this? Let's deal with. Draw a circle, it will be as if earth. At the top of the North Pole, and below - South.

Spend a straight line from the pole to the pole. And through its center - the second line. It will be the equator. Well, you know that around her middle it is the hottest equatorial belt. There all year round bananas grow. Stop! We will not talk about it.

You see, there are four straight corners on your circle. Take, for example, the upper right corner, one side goes to the North Pole, and the second goes on the equator.

I remember from school that a straight corner is ninety degrees. Do you understand what I mean? If from this angle to spend ninety rays through the same distances, they will go to the surface of the Earth and separate it on ninety-equal parts, or degrees. Zero degree will be held by the equator, and the ninetie will come to the North Pole. Here! And our Murmansk is on the seventieth degree.

Invented this British. They are tricky! The first managed to measure the distance from the equator to the pole - these 90 degrees, and it turned out to be 5,400 miles. And one degree is equal to 5400 ÷ 90 = 60 miles.

But we use kilometers! While the tricky Englishman overcomes one mile on a rude boat, together with you on your boat during the same time we will pass one kilometer eight hundred fifty-two meters, or 1852 m.

And I am now wondering what. If you know that from Murmansk to the North Pole of 20 degrees, you know that one degree is equal to 60 miles, and one mile is 1852 meters, you can calculate how many kilometers from Murmansk to the pole?

I counted in the column, I got 2222 kilometers. But you probably consider more accurate ...

See, everything is simple.

And now, if you suddenly get sick and the temperature will rise to 38.6, do not go to school, but call your teacher and tell me:

- Marivanna, my temperature jumped for two hundred twenty two kilometers!

The teacher, of course, will believe that you are sick. Healthy would say a student: for two degrees!

And one degree is equal to 5400 ÷ 90 = 60 miles.

School hugging

On a trip, I took with myself a geographical map of the Arctic. You probably met such. It looks like from above: in the center of the Arctic Ocean, covered with a white stain of ice, around the blue water of the seas, and then - the Earth: North of our country, Canada, Greenland.

I generally from childhood to geographical cards With trepidation. Houses above the table hung a big map of the world. We get tired of learning lessons, I start to travel. Where I just did not happen! I still remember the sea and the oceans, the states and the capital.

Here and here on the icebreaker, I asked the Navigraan's questions, I knocked in his nuclear maps and even told him about the ship drift Nansen "Fram". The navigator looked at me respectfully.

So in vain mom told me several times in the evening, while I was preparing lessons:

- Look in the tutorial, and not on the card!

If I did not look at the card, now I would not stand on the bridge of icebreaker going to the North Pole!

Scientist

Yeah, it's me about myself! And that's why.

I am friends with our Kandalaksha Reserve, and he is friends with me. Of course, the reserve itself is friendly - he is huge, dozens of islands in the Kandalaksha Bay of the White Sea, Islands in the Barents Sea. Friends are friends with me, which work there.

When I was going to the North Pole, scientists asked me to record the coordinates of those places where I noticate seabirds and animals.

Such an instruction I am very stalling: I also seemed to become a scientist, at least for a while, but scientist!

The coordinates were simply: there is a navigator on the bridge, and it determines the latitude and longitude on satellites.

Information that scientists asked, were needed to find out how migration changes as the Arctic expands, that is, the movement of marine animals and birds.

So, the further we moved to the north, the more careful I looked around, pressed the eyepieces of binoculars to the eyes and thought that I would not see anything. Do you see anything on such spaces from the horizon to the horizon. But still seen! I saw a blue whale and his fountain, saw a walrus, and seals, and nerpe. And of course, the polar bear, white bear and white bear!

Only here with marine birds in the region of the land of Franz Joseph's complexity arose. There were so many birds so quickly changed their coordinates that only one record remained here in my diary: there were a lot of birds!

Coordinates

So I told you that I defined the coordinates, that is, latitude and longitude. Do you know how it is? Remember, we painted the Earth, so 90 degrees from the equator to the North Pole - Northern Latron. A 90 degrees from the equator to the southern pole - the South latitude.

Through each degree passes a circle parallel to the equator. They are called - parallels. The longest one is on the equator, the shortest turn into points on the poles.

The distance around the Earth through both poles of 360 degrees. How much is it in miles and kilometers, you can now calculate.

And around the Ecquator Equator is the same distance - roundly forty thousand kilometers, or the same 360 degrees.

And if the equator is divided into degrees and spend lines from the pole to the pole, it will be meridians. On the poles, they also converge into the same points. Well, just like a striped watermelon: all strips converge in a spout and tail. Only strips of watermelon are smaller.

By latitude, the countdown comes from zero degree, or from zero parallel at the equator.

According to the longitude, the countdown of meridians also goes from zero. He passes through the capital of England, or rather, through the suburb of London - Greenwich and is called Greenwich Meridian. So, meridians. It turns out very simple. To the east, the right from Greenwich Meridian will be 180 degrees of Eastern longitude. To the West, that is, left from Greenwich Meridian, 180 degrees of Western longitude. And just 360 degrees!

And now the ship will never lose in the sea-ocean. If the navigator shows 81 degrees of northern latitude and 50 degrees of Eastern longitude, the navigator will look at the map, and there are all parallels and meridians on the map, and it easily finds the intersection point of the 81st parallels and the 50th Meridian. Here is our "victory", in the area of the land of Franz Joseph.

And you can easily find it on the map Find!

I saw whale

I saw him just in the Barents Sea. In truth, I saw not the whale itself, but the fountain that he produces.

Watching: suddenly a fountain of water! What is it, I think? And then realized - Kit. He has a hole on his head, breathe, he breathes through it and at the same time the fountains of the water blows away. Do you think having fun? Not. In nature, everything is thought out. Whale is gaining a full mouth of the water, passes through a whale mustache, and then, together with exhalation, produces it.

So I said the whale mustache, and you probably thought: such a whale sails into the sea, and he has a mustache from under his nose. Thought, thought. I myself thought so until I found out that China has no mustache. Yes, he has no nose. And in the mouth of the whale, a thick grid of thin horny plates. They are called: whale mustache.

Through these plates, KIT passes water, it comes out through the breath through the breath, and all sorts of wraps in the mouth remain. Keith feeds on the races. Such a big whale is such small races. This is how many raffs do you need to get enough? Horror…

In general, I also saw whales - whale-whites. Beluhi - because they are silver-white.

In the summer of our Kandalaksha Bay of the White Sea, the shoals of Sellot-Whiteorka come. And for her - seals and white whales.

At this time, whales, seals, cod, rims, rhealous inhabitants of our edge are tasty Whitework. And lazy what? Lose!

Warm flow

Before reaching the ice fields of the Arctic Ocean, you must first cross the Barents Sea, which does not freeze even in the most severe winter.

Such the Northern Arctic Sea and does not freeze! Do you know why? Yes, because it warms the warm flow of Gulf Stream. Gulf Stream - like the river, only the river is a huge-transom. Its width from the Kola Peninsula to the land of Franz Joseph is a thousand kilometers. And the depth or thickness of the flow - be healthy! It flows on the surface of the Barents Sea, but at the depth.

Gulfstream comes to the Barents Sea from the West, from the warm atlantic ocean. It goes, not in a hurry, along the Scandinavian Peninsula, along the Kola Peninsula, to Kara Sea And there it dissipates, cooled.

In fact, Golf Stream is happiness for the Scandinavian countries: Norway, Sweden, Finland. And for our Kola Peninsula too. Happiness Because Gulf Stream warms not only the water of the Barents Sea, but also the air above it and above the Kola Peninsula. And therefore we have Murmansk region Not as cold as in Greenland or in Chukotka.

And the Murmansk port in the Kola bay of the Barents Sea does not freeze all year round. Round year Can send and take ships.

And for any northern country, the non-freezing port is great happiness!

So I'm saying everything: warm current, warm current ... Think, it is so warm, which you can not sleep in it, as in the bath?

Yeah! Try to dive into it - plug up! Water is ice! And of seals - there are many of them here - they will giggle and las on you to show.

So it's not so and warm is a warm current. But still his heat is enough, so as not to let Barents Sea..

Iceberg

Here is one more passing! Huge, with sparkling on the sun, uneven blue walls.

In this place - between the islands of the land of Franz Joseph - a lot of icebergs. Some islands are completely covered with ice - glaciers.

Hundreds, thousands of years, the snow fell everything, fell, covered the islands, it was planted in a lot. This ice blanket is sometimes forty - fifty meters, under its weight slowly, maybe by centimeter per year, slides to the sea.

WATER The glacier is waved, hesitates, and a hefty piece falls off from him, yes which piece is a chuck size with a lot of store! This block is launched in free swimming in the Barents Sea and moves to the west to Atlantic Ocean.. And this is already - Iceberg.

As soon as the ice leaves away from the glacier, he becomes iceberg. And the moment of the birth of Iceberg is called the Holecie. The cow also has a father! She is born by a calf, and the glacier is like a calf. But meeting with such a calf for the vessel - oh how dangerous!

I like Icebergs! Especially this, swimming by.

Word Captain

You, of course, guess that the most important person on the ship is the captain. He manages everything and everyone is responsible for everything.

Captain's orders are limited, that is, without objection. Otherwise, what would happen?

For example, the captain gives the team:

- slow down to six nodes!

And navigator him:

- Yes, here and faster it is possible, the ice setting allows.

A helper too:

- Why drop, ahead of the open water canal.

And the steering itself:

- Sbabi, Sbaim, I got a little!

Bazaar will succeed. And it will not be an icebreaker, but sudine. Not a crew, but just a group of people. Because the word of the captain - the law!

So I said: the word of the captain is the law, and you probably thought that the captain was such a stern, an impregnable person, to him and go scary. No…

And the captain and I said, and joked, and argued even.

I counted on the map of the island on the land of Franz Joseph and say that they are on this archipelago 34.

And the captain:

- More!

I went once again recalculated, comes out the same - 34.

And the captain again:

And then I looked at the directory. It turns out yes, more. The land of Franz Joseph includes 192 islands. But this, counting and small islands that do not even apply to the card. We were such.

So, really comes out: the captain knows what he says. Because his word is true.

Archipelago

This is the name of a group of islands, for example, the land of Franz Joseph. Here are 192 large and very small islands. That's where you can walk! Yes, not really take a walk, because some islands are covered with glaciers, others - wild flat rocks - the Arctic.

Once the Austrian sailors stumbled upon a part of the islands and called them in honor of their emperor Franz Joseph. Austrians loved him very much.

Then the Americans, the British, the Danes opened other islands. About Nansen I could not hear? So he was Norwegian. On one of the islands, he even winterized for more than six months.

All who found new islands called them their names, and the islands were added to the Earth of Franz Joseph.

And the Russian beasts have flown on these islands and even did not even think of giving them. Only in 1912, Russia announced that he wanted to own these islands, the land of Franz Joseph, and in 1929 our former state of Soviet Russia confirmed this desire.

It so happened that the archipelago is called a foreign name, almost all of the islands are foreign names, and Russia owns them!

Therefore, now we are at a atomic icebreaker and ride between these islands, and admire them!

Order

I go to the North Pole. Atomic icebreaker "50 years of victory." Will you envy?

What is the name of a person who rides a bus without a ticket? That's right, hare. So I am a hare. Because in this tourist flight on the icebreaker I am without a ticket, that is, without a tourist trip.

How to become captain

On the bridge is good - far away, it is not from my cabin. Although the cabin and on the fourth deck, but the bridge is higher, from the window of the cabin, the view is only one way, and then the review - where you want to look!

So I look and imagine myself by the captain. I stand like this, in a white shirt with marine straps, a beard with me, well, exactly our captain!
