What is PNR in an electronic ticket? How to check an airline ticket purchased online What is a pnr number

To be able to fly by plane, it is not enough to have the appropriate ticket - you must additionally register. Such rules have been established today.

Dear readers! The article talks about typical ways to resolve legal issues, but each case is individual. If you want to know how solve exactly your problem- contact a consultant:

APPLICATIONS AND CALLS ARE ACCEPTED 24/7 and 7 days a week.

It's fast and FOR FREE!

Online registration is allowed only if citizens have purchased a ticket in advance on the Aeroflot portal.

Many passengers prefer to check in directly at the airport before departure, which is why they arrive early.

For these purposes, they need to have a passport identifying them. But this brings with it certain inconveniences.

For this reason, it becomes necessary to consider in more detail the online registration procedure.

Step-by-step instruction

Aeroflot online registration using an electronic ticket requires compliance with a certain mechanism of action, in particular:

On the official Aeroflot website you need to open the section “Online services”
Next you need to go to the second page Having previously selected the “Online registration” function
After this, you need to familiarize yourself with the conditions of the registration procedure Baggage Rules and check the appropriate box at the bottom of the page
Next you need to select a flight To do this, it becomes necessary to indicate the reservation code, ticket number, numbering of the bonus program and the surname of the potential passenger in Latin characters
After this, personal information about other passengers is indicated. If registration is initiated simultaneously by several citizens
The following is the location on the provided diagram of the aircraft cabin It is necessary to pay attention to the possibility of changing the place again. At the same time, Aeroflot cannot guarantee the provision of a reserved seat, but at the same time makes every effort
Next you will need to get your boarding pass. Print it later

It is possible to print your boarding pass directly at the airport upon arrival by first contacting an authorized person at the check-in counter or at a self-check-in point.

Immediately upon arrival at the airport, baggage must be checked in at the counter called “Drop Off”.

If such a counter is not available, you must contact the authorized employee responsible for checking in passengers and baggage.

If the baggage exceeds the established norm, it becomes necessary to pay for the weight above the limit. Please note: registration begins one day before boarding.

To Sheremetyevo

The registration process for Sheremetyevo Airport is standard and is no different from that discussed above.

At the same time, it is necessary to pay attention to the fact that special Mobile Chek-in terminals are installed at the airport, used for printing coupons.

During the period of reading the 2D bar code from the image on the phone, an automatic printout will be made. Check-in is possible 24 hours before departure.

Domodedovo

The situation with the check-in procedure at Domodedovo Airport is similar:

  1. You need to go to the Aeroflot website.
  2. Follow the prompts to register.

Once this process is completed, you will be able to arrive at the airport directly 40 minutes before departure. Registration is possible one day before departure.

Pulkovo

The airport has specialized terminals that provide the right to print out the appropriate coupon.

Speaking about the registration procedure, no distinctive features are provided.

Vnukovo

To register online, all you need to do is go to the official website and perform the above steps. Upon completion of the procedure, the user will be prompted to receive a boarding pass.

Can be used:

  • current email address;
  • current contact mobile phone number.

In the case of online registration, it is possible to choose your own seat.
If passengers received their boarding pass by email, they should print it out.

If you can't print it, that's okay. It is enough to go to the check-in counter at the airport and notify the authorized person that registration has taken place.

The passenger’s personal information will already be in the airline’s database, and printing the ticket will only take a few seconds.

If passengers have received a check-in notification on their personal mobile phone or tablet in the form of a barcode, then at the airport they can go to the regular check-in counter and quickly receive a boarding pass, or go to any self-check-in terminal equipped with a scanner and print a paper boarding pass by presenting barcode to scan.

How to get a booking code

The reservation code must be issued on the official Aeroflot portal during the period of booking the ticket.

If you wish, you can immediately write it down in your notebook after completing the ticket purchase process.
For your information, the Aeroflot code includes exclusively Latin characters, for example, DDTRWQ.

It is possible to print it, only in this case it will be located in the upper right corner.

In addition, do not forget that during the period of booking an air ticket, a reservation code is sent to potential passengers:

It is necessary to pay attention to the fact that if you purchase a ticket for an Aeroflot flight through intermediaries, for example, using the Tu-Tu service, then in the hands of a potential passenger, in most cases, the numbering on this service, which includes not only symbols, but also digital values.

In this situation, the code for the purpose of online booking on the official Aeroflot portal can only be obtained from the intermediary himself. He can only be contacted using the details provided by him.

After receiving the reservation code, the registration procedure via the Internet is not difficult; in particular, you must indicate on the main page of the “Online registration” portal:

  • booking code;
  • the full initials of the future passenger who purchased a ticket for a specific flight.

In the same way as the reservation code, it is recommended to write down the initials of the potential passenger in a notepad.

Many people claim that they can indicate their last name in Latin characters, but this is not the case, as practice shows.

For example, the passenger’s last name is Alekseev Perekatipole. What will it look like in Latin characters?

Surely its carrier will not be able to name it several times at different times, and in the same way, so that it does not differ from each other.

Advantages and disadvantages

The key advantage of online registration is considered to be:

  • comfort;
  • and significant savings in personal time.

It is possible to initiate registration while being in any corner where there is unhindered access to the Internet.

Passengers have the right to independently choose their seats on the plane from the available ones, and also eliminate the need to stand in a live queue for registration.

1. FARE CALCULATION - Tariff calculation

2. FARE - Tariff
Tariff in the currency of the start of transportation. In countries with non-convertible currencies (Russia), tariffs are published in US dollars. Sometimes the tariff is hidden under the abbreviation "IT" or "FORFAIT")

3. TOTAL - Total
The full cost of the ticket (fare plus airport taxes) in the currency of the point where the ticket was issued. In Russia, for different airlines this can be either Russian rubles or US dollars. IT may also be located here.

4. ORIGIN/DESTINATION - Point of departure/destination
A three-letter designation of the departure point and, after a slash, the arrival point along the entire route. There are also designations SITI, SOTO, and so on.

5. AIRLINE DATA - Booking number
Alphanumeric booking number (PNR CODE).

6. ENDORSEMENTS/RESTRICTIONS - Endorsement/restrictions
This column indicates various restrictions on transportation on this ticket, as well as the possibility of “transferring” (endorsement) of the passenger to another carrier. For example, if the column says "LH ONLY", this means that this ticket is valid on Lufthansa flights. The permitted actions under this tariff are also indicated here. For example, “REB FEE USD50” or “NON REF” means: “the penalty for changing a reservation is $50” or “the ticket cannot be refunded.”

7. NAME OF PASSENGER - Last name and first name of the passenger
Indicated only in Latin transcription (writing). After the surname, the first letter of the name or the full name is written separated by a slash and the designation separated by a space (MR - Mr., MRS/MSS - Miss or Mrs.). According to IATA standards, this field allows up to 3 errors.

8. CONJUNCTION TICKETS - Connected ticket
If the route includes more flights than there are flight coupons on the form, such a ticket is issued on several forms and cross-references are made here to other ticket numbers.

9. STOPOVER - Stopover indicator. X/O (no/yes)
If there is a stopover in a given city for more than 24 hours (“stopover”), then this field is empty or there is an “O” there. If the passenger does not stay here for more than a day, then “X” appears in this column. The use of a stopover is reflected in the total cost of the ticket at the expense of airport taxes, since in the absence of a stopover, some taxes are not paid, which makes the ticket cheaper.

10. ISSUED IN EXCHANGE FOR - Issued in exchange for
If the ticket is exchanged, the number of the original ticket is entered in this column.

11. VALIDATOR PLACE - Validator field
Stamp of the agency that sold the ticket. Must contain the name of the agency, its short address, unique office number, that is, IATA number or Aeroflot code. Alphanumeric reference of the agent who issued the ticket. Ticket issue date.

12. FROM/TO - Flight route
The English spelling of city and airport names is used throughout. Each ticket coupon allows you to fly between two cities, which are highlighted on this coupon in a different color (usually dark). Cities are arranged from top to bottom, that is, the first flight will be between the highest point and the one below it. If there are several different airports in a city, their three-letter codes are written after the city.

13. CARRIER - Carrier
The carrier's two-letter airline code. Codes are defined by IATA (International Air Transport Association) for example:
SU - Aeroflot,
LH - Lufthansa,
AF - Air France.

14. FLIGHT - Flight number
CLASS — Booking class.
A Latin letter denoting belonging to a particular class. Usually:
F, P, A - first class.
J, C, D, I, Z - business class.
W, S, Y, B, H, K, L, M, N, Q, T, V, X - economy class.

15. DATE - Departure date

16. TIME - Departure time
Always local time of departure point.

17. STATUS - Booking status
Usually the status is "OK". Sometimes it is possible to issue tickets with the status "RQ" (request for a place at registration). Tickets for children under 2 years old flying without a seat have the status "NS".

18. FARE BASIS - Type of tariff
Alphanumeric designation of the tariff code.

19. NVB/NVA - Not valid before/not valid after
A date earlier than and later than which, respectively, you cannot fly using a given flight coupon (if the fare rules allow date changes). For most “hard” preferential fares, both dates coincide with the departure date for this coupon. If the columns are empty, this means that this ticket is valid for at least a year.

20. Free baggage allowance
Here is the calculation of the fare for this air ticket.

21. TOUR CODE - Tour code
Code used when issuing confidential and special tariffs.

22. ADDITIONAL ENDORSEMENT/RESTRICTIONS - Additional restrictions
Contains information that does not fit in the ENDORSEMENT/RESTRICTIONS column.

23. EQUIV/FARE - Equivalent tariff
The equivalent of the fare in the currency of the check-out point (if the currency of the check-out point differs from the currency of the point of origin of transportation).

To ensure that the passenger does not get lost during the trip, after purchasing an air ticket, he receives several important documents. They will certainly contain all sorts of codes, numbers, letters and abbreviations, which at first glance may be puzzling due to their incomprehensibility. What is a reservation code and where can I find it? Why are airports marked with some letters, and it is not always possible to make out the actual destination? We will clearly tell you everything: about the booking code, flight number and other designations.

Booking code

You may come across the following concepts - and they are all synonyms:

  • booking code
  • reservation numbers
  • Reservation number
  • travel booking confirmation
  • Order number
  • supplier confirmation number (very rare)

Where to find the booking code on your ticket

«>

Image: Example of Airberlin booking confirmation with booking number

Booking number is a code usually consisting of a combination of numbers and letters. However, it can also be a purely numerical or alphabetic sequence. This can often happen if the ticket is purchased through a travel agent.

The booking code helps the tour operator or airline match the booking and related services. The booking code remains the same for all passengers on the same booking. For example, all family members receive the same booking number if their tickets were purchased together. In this case, the booking code can apply to several flights at once, for example, include round trip flight, and connecting flights.

Image: flight booking number from tour operator Ltur

Often, a reservation number is required to obtain boarding passes when checking in at the airport. You will need the same reservation number if you decide to check in online on the airline’s website yourself.

Advice: Remember, for any check-in - both at the airport and online - you will need a reservation code and an identification document containing your identification number (passport number). Prepare them in advance and keep them nearby.

After check-in, you will receive a boarding pass, which you will need to present at security at the gate and when you board the aircraft. On your boarding pass you will find information such as: gate number, flight number, Boarding Time, Departure Time, your seat on the aircraft, booking class (Economy, Business, First) and usually the booking code.

Image: Example Eurowings boarding pass with booking code

Flight number

The flight number can be compared to the number of a bus or tram line. It identifies a specific air service and remains unchanged as long as the airline maintains that route on its flight schedule.

The flight number is made up of the operating airline's IATA code (1-3 letters) and a maximum of 5 digits that define the route. That is, each new flight does not have its own unique one-time number.

Examples of flight numbers

  • DE143 >> Antalya - Frankfurt with Condor (=DE)
  • AB6894 >> Stuttgart - Sylt with Airberlin (=AB)
  • 4U2823 >> Milan - Stuttgart with Germanwings (=4U)
  • LH817 >> Gothenburg - Frankfurt with Lufthansa (=LH)
  • FR4026 >> Karlsruhe-London-Stansted with Ryanair (=FR)

Where can you find your flight number on your boarding pass?

Image: Example of a flight number on a Ryanair boarding pass

Why do you need a flight number?

Airlines, airports and air safety use the flight number for "operational reasons" and it serves as a reference for passengers.

On information boards at the airport, flight numbers can always be found under the heading “flight” and you can understand which airline and which route you are talking about.

IATA codes

Another designation that will appear on your travel documents is IATA codes (IATA codes). They are assigned by the International Air Transport Association (IATA) and are unique to each airport, each landing site and each airline.

Airports receive a code consisting of 3 letters of the Latin alphabet, for example: MUC for Munich. These designations help avoid confusion between airports and airlines.

As an example, consider the meaning of the IATA code for the city of London

There are a total of 6 airports in the city. If the name of the airport coincided with the name of the city, it would be unclear which airport in London we are talking about. Therefore, for example, Heathrow Airport, the largest London airport, has the code LHR, and, for example, London Gatwick Airport has the code LGW, and so on.

Advice: When booking a trip, always pay attention to the airport code! Thus, you will not find yourself in a situation where the arrival airport is outside the city, and you did not know about it. Some low-cost airlines, such as Ryanair or Easyjet, guided by the ignorance of travelers, specifically serve flights from regional airports. By working with such airports, airlines incur lower costs, for example, lower airport duties.

Buying tickets online

Today, buying tickets via the Internet is not only convenient and fashionable, but also economically feasible. Thanks to this service, you can choose the shortest route at the most affordable cost. In addition, the passenger gets the opportunity to make payments without leaving home, which significantly speeds up this process.

Experienced travelers have long had trusted intermediaries through whom they make purchases and do not doubt their honesty. But newcomers run the risk of falling into the hands of scammers and ruining their vacation. However, the PNR code in the electronic ticket will come to the rescue. This simple combination of letters and numbers is found on every itinerary receipt sent by email and includes a lot of useful information.

Therefore, if you bought tickets on the site for the first time and doubt their authenticity, then open the letter from the airline and let’s study the document sent to you.

Route receipt: what is it?

Remember that each airline must issue an itinerary receipt for the passenger. When purchasing a ticket via the Internet, it is compiled almost instantly (after payment) and is generated automatically by the system. This document is then sent to the client’s email. Usually, from payment to receipt of the ticket, not even ten minutes pass.

The itinerary receipt contains all the information about the passenger and his flight, while its appearance is not regulated in any way. Each company has its own rules according to which data is located and grouped on a ticket. Therefore, do not be surprised if you see completely different itinerary receipts purchased through different services.

Please keep in mind that you can print your e-ticket before boarding your flight, but this is not necessary since all your information is already entered into the airline’s database. If you still want to print the document, then do it on a regular sheet. Even in this form, it is an official document that is suitable for strict reporting in the accounting department of your company and other organizations.

Features of an electronic ticket

Many older Russians still prefer to purchase tickets at the box office, so that after payment they can hold it in their hands and definitely not worry about any small details. However, the electronic itinerary receipt has a lot of advantages and features that I would like to mention:

  • an electronic ticket does not have a letterhead and cannot be touched;
  • it cannot be lost;
  • the itinerary receipt cannot be falsified;
  • an electronic ticket cannot be stolen;
  • With a ticket purchased online, you can check in for your flight via the Internet;
  • a passenger can arrive at the airport only with a passport in hand.

As you can see, there are a huge number of advantages in an electronic ticket. Therefore, you should not be afraid to purchase it via the Internet, you just need to be very careful and understand what kind of document you received after the transaction.

Reading the ticket

If this is your first time holding an electronic ticket in your hands, then you need to learn how to read it. Most of the information is written on it in English.

First of all, find your first and last name on the form. In cases where you are planning a trip abroad, check their spelling with the data in your international passport. If they do not match, then you are unlikely to be able to board the plane. Therefore, contact the airline and make any necessary changes before it is too late.

At the top of the itinerary receipt are your ticket number and the name of the organization through which the purchase was made. If necessary, you can check the authenticity of the ticket on its website.

Also be sure to check the date and time of departure, as well as the arrival and departure airports on your receipt. This information is usually indicated in the middle part of the ticket. The flight number and the airline that will operate it are also printed here.

In addition to all the listed components of the itinerary receipt, it will necessarily contain your passport details, the day the ticket was issued, the class of flight and the amount paid for the trip.

What is the PNR code on an e-ticket?

This code is quite easy to recognize - it is a combination of five Latin letters and numbers. They contain a large amount of information about the traveler and the flight. In addition, this code allows you to find out how honest the intermediary was with you. If he actually made a reservation, then you can easily check this by going to his website. We will talk about this verification method a little later.

Please note that on some receipts the code is six alphanumeric characters long. This option is also considered correct and is not an error.

Where is the PNR located on the e-ticket?

This code is usually located at the top of the itinerary receipt. Moreover, it can be applied both on the right and on the left. It is often grouped with the order number or routing receipt.

For example, let's look at where the PNR is in the Onur Air electronic ticket. If you pick up this airline's itinerary receipt, you will see a six-digit individual code. Onur Air is exactly the carrier that prints a six-character code. It will be located on the left side of the ticket after the airline and before the flight number and airport information.

Why is an alphanumeric code needed?

We already know where the PNR number is in the electronic ticket, but now we need to find out exactly how to use it and why it is given to passengers in the first place. We have already mentioned that this combination of Latin letters and numbers contains all the information about the traveler and the flight. In addition, thanks to the code, you can find out how honest the intermediary is with you and whether he really issued a ticket in your name. We recommend doing such a check even in cases where tickets are purchased on time-tested sites.

To check, you will need the name of the booking system through which your itinerary receipt was issued. Usually it is located just above the PNR code or next to it. Next, go to the website of the specified system and enter your individual code and your last name on the main page. A few seconds after starting the search, you should see detailed information about your ticket and flight. Moreover, its status must be indicated. These may be the words “issued” or “issued”.

If the information does not appear on the computer screen, then there can only be two reasons for this situation. The first is that you have just issued a ticket and it has not yet entered the database. Therefore, it is worth trying again in a few days. But the second reason is the most unpleasant - you have fallen for scammers and it’s time to start sounding the alarm.

Six-digit code: advantages of this option

The six-character code gives the passenger more benefits as it allows the authenticity of the ticket to be verified in an international database. The verification algorithm is identical to the one we already described in the previous section.

How to check a ticket reservation by number and surname on the official Aeroflot website

We go to the site www.aeroflot.ru, select the online section - services/check reservation (see picture below).

Next, enter the number from the example (YWX876) in the “Reservation Code (PNR)” field, and the passenger’s last name in the “Last Name” field and click “Search” (see the picture below).

If Aeroflot tickets are issued

After entering the reservation number and the passenger's last name, you will see information on the reservation and air tickets made. This way you can check the reality of the paid air tickets and view the order details. In addition, from an open order, you can send the reservation data to yourself by e-mail, print air tickets on a printer or save them on your computer. To receive prompt information from Aeroflot airline regarding changes to your order, you can enter your email address and mobile phone number.

The “Booking Information” page displays information about all passengers on the reservation, air ticket numbers (Aeroflot starts with 555), order status (paid/unpaid), and air ticket statuses (issued/not issued).

Below on the screen there is detailed information on flights, airports and departure/arrival times, booking classes, type of service on board, type of aircraft, type of food, time in flight.

If Aeroflot tickets are not issued

After entering the Aeroflot booking code and the passenger's last name, you will see information about your order. But unlike the example above with issued air tickets, on the “Booking Information” page the “Tickets” field will be empty. Further, depending on where the order was created, the information will vary:

When booking a ticket on the Aeroflot website

In the “Payment Information” section, the order status will be “not paid”, the ticket status will be “not issued”, the “Cost” field and the “Pay” button will appear. Below under “*” the time limit of your reservation will be indicated - until what time you need to pay for the reservation. If payment is not made within the specified period, the reservation will be cancelled.

When booking an Aeroflot flight at an agency or on the OTA website

In the “Payment Information” section, the order status will be “Order cannot be paid”, the ticket status will be “not issued”, you can pay for such an order and issue air tickets only at the agency where the reservation was made.

This way you can check all your orders and e-tickets through the official Aeroflot website and control your booking.

Search and book Aeroflot airline tickets

You can view the flight schedule and book Aeroflot airline tickets online on our website in the section AIR TICKETS.

Electronic ticket - general data

An electronic ticket is agreement between the airline and the passenger on air transportation. Its key difference from paper is that information about the passenger is entered into the company’s database. Therefore, at the airport you do not even have to present the ticket itself.

This itinerary receipt for which there are no regulated rules. Each company has its own examples of such tickets. The main thing is that all the necessary information is indicated there.

You can print it on a regular A4 sheet- no special forms are required. This system was introduced specifically for the convenience of passengers.

It is sent to your email after you have made the payment. This is usually a PDF document. If you have not found a letter with a ticket, then do not rush to immediately contact the service center with angry accusations. Look in your Spam folder - it might have ended up there.

It is not necessary to take it with you to the airport, but it is advisable. You must have with you a document proving your identity - an internal or foreign passport.

Decoding an electronic plane ticket

When you receive a ticket, it is immediately difficult to figure out where and what is indicated. Finding the flight number on an electronic ticket or its arrival and departure times is very difficult. Below in the photo you can see an example of a ticket. All important data is on it marked with blue numbers.

Information about your last name and first name is indicated number one. They are indicated with Latin letters. When flying abroad, check that their spelling coincided with how they are indicated in your passport. If they are not the same, then you may not be allowed on board the plane.

At number two you will find the name of the company you purchased the ticket from. Number three- the organization that sold you the ticket with its geographical location is indicated.

Number four- this is your individual reservation code. It consists from a set of Latin letters. If you want to find out the status of your ticket or clarify some details about the flight, then this is exactly what you need to call a company employee.

Under the number five The number of your document with which you purchased the ticket is indicated. Check that it matches what is indicated in your passport. They also should not differ from one another.

Number six is your date of birth, and seven- this is the day when your ticket was issued.

Under the number eight you will find the city of departure and arrival. The names may be abbreviated, but this does not play a special role. The name of the airport may be written next to it, if it has one.

Nine means your flight number, which consists of the airline code and a set of three digits.

At number ten the booking class code is indicated. If you see the letters - F, P or A, then this is first class. The difference between them is:

  • P is the first class with the highest level of service;
  • F is regular first class;
  • A - first class with a discount.

Saw the letters J, C, D, I, Z? This is Business Class. Each of them represents a specific level of service on board the aircraft. J is business class, but with an improved service option, close to the first. C - regular business class. D, I, Z - the same, but with a discount.

Letters W, S, Y, B, H, K, L, M, N, Q, T, V, X denote Economy class. If you see the first letter, then this is premium Economy class. S and Y - regular Economy. B, H, K, L, M, N, Q, T, V, X - Economy with discount.

At number 11 arrival and departure times are indicated. Please note that local time is indicated.

Each electronic ticket has its own unique six-character code. This combination is present both at Aeroflot and other air carriers. The code consists of both Latin letters and numbers.

Let's talk about PNR in an electronic ticket, what it is and where the required code is located. It is this inscription that makes it possible to check all the necessary information about the upcoming flight and make sure that you were not deceived when purchasing a travel document via the Internet.

But inexperienced passengers do not always know where to look for these symbols, why they are needed and what can be learned with their help. Therefore, it is worth talking in more detail about what is contained in the itinerary receipt sent by email.

If previously it was possible to purchase any documents for travel by bus, train or plane only at the official ticket offices of the city or at the station, today travel has become more accessible and easier to organize. Sitting at home or during a break at work, you can find the most suitable route option, decide on a carrier, choose a seat, check the date and other details.

There are many advantages to buying air tickets online:

  • no need to go to the airport;
  • you don’t have to spend half a day traveling there and back, or stand in line;
  • you can leisurely select all the desired flight conditions;
  • it is possible to decide not only on the carrier and destination, but also to find the cheapest ticket;
  • No one will steal such a travel document and it is even difficult to lose it;
  • You don’t need to take a whole folder of papers with you to the airport; you just need to show your passport when boarding.

It is not surprising that modern tourists are increasingly resorting to this method of purchasing tickets and even checking in for a flight. But beginners may be intimidated by the potential danger and unreliability of the document they are purchasing. Therefore, you should make sure that the resource you choose is legal and actually cooperates with certain airlines.

After confirmation of payment for the ticket, a so-called itinerary receipt is sent to your email or phone. It contains all the necessary information about the selected flight, as well as passenger data, which can be used to confirm who it belongs to. This is an electronic version of the travel document, which was previously received at the ticket office in paper form. It can also be printed on any device.

What is PNR?

Essentially, this is the same, just with a different designation. So, when traveling within the Russian Federation, for example, with the help of Aeroflot, you can get a ticket on which the data is indicated in the form of 5 characters. According to international rules, such a cipher consists of 6 letters or numbers in different combinations.

It is this code that confirms that you have purchased an air ticket, it is genuine and it displays all the necessary information about the passenger and the upcoming flight. If you enter it on any website where it is possible to check the reservation of documents, then only if you provide this code you can confirm the selected and paid route.

Studying the ticket

Immediately upon receiving a receipt by email, you need to carefully review it and make sure that all data is correct. In addition to the PNR code, it must include the following:

  1. The passenger's surname and first name are often in English, so you need to be especially careful here to make sure that each letter is correct, for which check the entry with your international passport.
  2. Air ticket number, although online intermediaries may not indicate it.
  3. The name of the carrier who will be making the flight, often the authenticity of the document and all information about the route can be checked on the official website of the airline.
  4. Flight number, time and date.
  5. Payment information (credit card number, cost).
  6. Fare or selected travel class.
  7. Other flight conditions, if they were specified during checkout.
  8. Status – paid or not, etc.

airlines-inform.ru

If you find even the slightest error in the specified data, you need to contact the airline staff as soon as possible and ask them to correct the typos. Sometimes, when registering a ticket in your personal account on the website, you can make most of the adjustments yourself. Sometimes this involves a fine, in other cases it is free. It all depends on the rules of the carrier, the intermediary itself and the selected ticket class.

Functions and location

Since today there is no standard template for issuing travel documents, each company's itinerary receipt looks different. It is not always possible for a beginner to immediately find the necessary information. The booking code or PNR is most often located at the top, right or left.

For example, an Onur Air electronic ticket writes this code in the form of six Latin letters at the top immediately after the name of the airline. Next you can see the flight number and other important information for the passenger.

Inexperienced tourists are concerned with the question: why is this code needed and will it be needed? So, using PNR you can:

  • check the authenticity of the ticket, whether you were deceived when purchasing the document;
  • view all information about the upcoming flight, monitor changes;
  • it is indicated when checking in and receiving a boarding pass;
  • exchange the ticket for another or return it back.

Confirmation issues

Sometimes, when using a new resource to buy an air ticket, a person is too worried about whether he was deceived and whether a seat on the desired flight was actually booked. To do this, go to the website and use the PNR code to check the accuracy of the data.

But it also happens that the system does not find a ticket using the booking code.

There are not many explanations for this:

  1. If you have just made a purchase, it means that the booking process has not yet completed and the information has not entered the general database. Everything takes time, so it's worth checking it in a few days.
  2. In another case, it turns out that you used an unscrupulous resource and the money was wasted. This happens if you look for too cheap offers on unverified sites or buy tickets on social networks from strangers.

When any questions arise, it is better to call the airline’s support service and clarify all the details. And to avoid falling into the trap of scammers, use only trusted and official resources on the Internet.
