How do we save up to 25% on hotels?

Everything is very simple - we use a special search engine RoomGuru for 70 hotel and apartment booking services with the best price.

Bonus for renting apartments 2100 rubles

Instead of hotels, you can book an apartment (on average 1.5-2 times cheaper) on AirBnB.com, a very convenient worldwide and well-known apartment rental service with a bonus of 2100 rubles upon registration

For tourists who have already managed to spend all their money during their previous travels in Germany, or who arrived immediately with limited funds, here are a couple of tips on where you can go for lunch in Hamburg for cheaper.

"Karotoffelkeller"(Deichstraße 21)

If you love potatoes, then here you can treat yourself to potatoes prepared in a variety of ways and with different sauces. The restaurant opens at noon every day. Order here, for example, baked potatoes with various fillings, potato salads, potato soups, meat dishes with potatoes and potato sauces, and even potatoes with ice cream for dessert. If you are on a diet, then this is probably not the best place for you.

"Balutschi"(Grindelallee 31)

This is a Pakistani food restaurant, the best restaurant of its kind in Hamburg, and quite famous. Students from the nearby university flock here to enjoy the fragrant spicy oriental cuisine.

Einstein Bistro

In general, this is a cozy bistro and Mediterranean restaurant with fairly low prices. This is a great place to order large pizzas or hearty main courses for €5 or less, as well as fresh salads, tapas and snacks. This, of course, is not such a nice cozy old-fashioned German cafe, but an ordinary unpretentious eatery, but the cost of food and the size of the portions, and the taste, of course, make these restaurants worth a visit. There are several such cafes in Hamburg, here are the addresses: 1. Chaussee 45, 2. Billstedter Hauptstr. 34-36 3. Bramfelder Chaussee 361 4. Schopenstehl 32 5. Grindelberg 81-83 6. Lübecker Straße 133

"Erika's-Eck"(Sternstrasse 98)

This very traditional restaurant offers guests the best traditional German food. The portions here are huge and the prices are quite fair. This is a great place to have breakfast, even early in the morning after a night out at the nightclub. The restaurant closes only for a couple of hours a day, from 14:00 to 17:00, and is open every day. That is, the cafe is open all night, which is very convenient!

"Daniel Wischer"(Spitaler Straße 12 and Steinstraße 15a)

If you're looking for fish and chips, this little restaurant is your best bet. Since 1924, it has been serving its customers and offering them all types of fried fish dishes, including grilled fish or baked fish with vegetables.

"Manee Thai"(Schauenburgerstr. 59, 1st floor)

This is an excellent Thai restaurant, very romantically decorated, comfortable and serving spicy hearty food. You can find cheaper Thai restaurants in Hamburg, but they will not offer quality, tasty food and service. However, this restaurant is also quite inexpensive. The cafe has a special menu that changes every month and includes a first course, soup, main course and dessert - all for a fixed price, which is very convenient and the whole set is cheaper than if you ordered dishes separately.

"Teufels Kuche"(Ottenser Hauptstrasse 47)

The Devil's Kitchen is known for being one of the best inexpensive restaurants in Hamburg, offering Oriental and German cuisine. Main courses here cost less than 10 euros and are prepared quite quickly. The menu is small, changes all the time, and includes many vegetarian options. You will hardly find another such cafe in Hamburg, where they cook the same good food at such low prices.

"Kleine Pause"(Wohlwillstr. 37)

This is a small but very popular restaurant in the city. The best roast is prepared here, and you can’t go past the delicious currywurst. Order cheap mojitos here! This is a great place to start a Saturday disco night, so to speak, to take a little break (as the name of the restaurant translates). Two TVs are installed for live sports broadcasts, so there are a lot of people during important matches. Naturally, in addition to delicious potatoes and sausages, fresh cold beer.

Falafel Factory(Schanzenstr.101)

Order falafel, salads and potatoes here for just three euros (all together). Falafels can be ordered with any taste, spicy or not, with or without sauces. Everything is prepared really quickly, and you can also take the dishes to go. The restaurant is tiny, but it is a real treasure of the city. Plus, the restaurant is open until late at night, more precisely, until the morning (until 5 am!), So, again, you can drop in here after the club for an early breakfast.

"Falafelstern"(Schanzenstr. 111)

As you might guess, this restaurant is located near the previous stall. And one more “free” place. Order chicken shawarma, sesame cookies, and, well, falafel (which in other cases can be obtained as a bonus, in particular, with shawarma!). This shawarma costs around 3-4 euros, and the size of this dish is sufficient to eat your fill. A great place to satisfy your hunger. The restaurant is always full of visitors, but does not lose its charm and comfort.

Gecko(Ballindamm 40)

A great place for lunch, a Mexican bar where you can order burritos, including lean ones. A worthy rebuff to the falafel bars and Indian restaurants that are coming to Hamburg. Try the honey lemon chicken and quesadilla. A good burrito costs around 5.90 euros. Be careful, the food is quite spicy!

"Hesburger"(Reeperbahn 29)

As the name suggests, this is a cute burger bar. The restaurant is always crowded, but it is very warm and bright. The cheeseburgers here are fantastic, as well as the vegetable nuggets. The burgers are very large, and in quality they can surpass your favorite McDonald's or Burger King. You can order fish cutlets made from salmon fillet.

"Asia Bistro"(Reimerstwiete 3)

A Chinese bistro that looks rather sad from the outside, but offers wonderful lunch options. For example, for 3.80 euros for a small portion and 4.70 euros for a large one (but, believe me, a small plate is enough). It is possible to order takeaway food. The food is pretty standard - chicken, rice, noodles, soups, fish, beef. Everything is of good quality - overall, a filling and cheap lunch.

"Qrito"(Osterstr. 165)

This is a decent Mexican restaurant with inexpensive prices. Of course, you can’t go without a juicy burrito. Plus tacos, sides, carnitas, salads. Small quesadillas cost 2.50 euros each. Carnitas with pork, cheese and tomatoes - 5.50 euros. You can also order beer and soda here. For four you can easily eat for 20-25 euros!

I beg to differ with the editor-in-chief. Ignorance of German does not at all overshadow a tourist’s stay in Hamburg. English is quite sufficient. Some immigrants never learn German and live without problems! Everyone knows English, and many speak it perfectly, all young people - 100% and, of course, all the service staff.

Hamburg is a very beautiful, green, friendly and diverse city with its own unique architecture, history and culture! I am convinced that any tourist will be able to find many interesting places for entertainment and contemplation!

If you can figure it out, of course, the city has a very informative and up-to-date website - (available in English).

I will also help you. Great app for navigating the metro - Hamburg Metro - Map and Route Planner by mxData Limited

Here are just a few options for alleys:

1. District Blankenese, metro S1/S11. This is a beautiful, absolutely original old district of the city, located near the Elbe. Previously, it was a fishing settlement, which gradually turned into one of the favorite vacation spots of the townspeople. Small old houses literally climb on top of each other, towering above the spacious embankment. Maritinsky theme, neat gardens, thatched roofs, flowers and beautiful views accompany the guests of the village. This is the only hilly area in the city, the area of stairs, as it is also called. These houses are insanely expensive, so the locals are completely white bones. Unfortunately, there were no good restaurants there.

2. You should definitely go to the Reeperbahn! It’s not for nothing that the first Beatles concert outside England took place here (in the “Große Freiheit” club)! It's better to go on Friday or Saturday late in the evening! Believe me, it’s not without reason that this is the world’s most famous area of debauchery and entertainment! It’s very unpleasant there during the day, but I highly recommend walking at night and looking at all this madness at least once in your life. It is better to take a tour (excursion) of this area. Here, too, the kitchen is not going well - they mostly drink.

3. The entire Elbe embankment from the fish market (Fischmarkt), where, by the way, young people go after nights on the Ripperbahn (it’s nearby) and to Hafen City, certainly deserves attention for its architecture and beautiful views of the port docks and various ships, Firstly! You can ride along the Elbe on modern small ferries - it's very invigorating! There you can also take a sightseeing boat tour of the Elbe, the docks and the world-famous storage area (Speichestadt).

4. Inner and outer Alster and town square - Town Hall (Rathaus). This is a tourist mecca and there really is something to see there!

Where to eat? I recommend a very authentic fish restaurant located on the beautiful pedestrian street Colonnaden 104 (this is the very center, the nearest metro station is U1 Stefansplatz). It's called "Fishfeinkost Delikatessen des Meers". The restaurant is over 100 years old, it is tiny, if the weather permits, try to sit outside. There is always only one dish on the menu (the dish of the day, different every day, of course). Costs 6.50€, the plate is huge, insanely delicious! It's always a fish dish, usually with a strong side dish! You can order wine for lunch; there is nothing else on the menu. You need to stop by and pick up your lunch at the restaurant itself. There you will be told after which bell (ringing) to come for your portion.

5. An excellent option is to rent a sailboat/boat/catamaran/kayak/SUP and enjoy the beauty and nature of the city and the water surface. Usually tourists limit themselves only to trips on small boats, which is also beautiful, but banal and unsporting. In Hamburg you can easily find any kind of water. rent a boat and spend the day traveling along countless canals, stopping at cafes and restaurants. For example, here is a bar that is worth mooring to - Fiedler's Cafe Bar (Hofweg 103). And through this lake (Rondeelteich) I highly recommend making your water route.

Have a nice trip and have a great appetite!

Hamburg, to be honest, is a rather boring city for a tourist who does not know German (a value judgment from a person who has been there ten times).

There is an active cultural life there, especially with regard to contemporary and street art, theatre, avant-garde music and various underground artistic practices. But it’s difficult to understand all this if you come for a couple of days or a week.

And so - take a walk around Lake Alster, see the town hall, Speicherstadt, the Miniatur-Wunderland toy museum (it’s really excellent, and children can easily spend a day there): there are working models of literally everything created by civilization, everything moves, makes sounds, everything the headlights work, even the planes naturally fly. Door to door with this museum is a very cool coffee shop with single-origin coffee from all over the world (almost all the coffee imported into Europe passes through Hamburg). Be sure to buy something rare with you.

Be sure to go to the fish market, preferably around 6 am. Of course, it has been spoiled by tourists, but it is still an order of magnitude more lively than most markets in large cities: people in leather jackets play rock (at 6, remember, in the morning), the fish is fresh and very cheap, a lot of overseas goods (the port) . In general, interesting.

Another fun attraction is to go to a match of the legendary St. Pauli club. This is generally a unique phenomenon: socialism + hard rock + anarchy in the management structure + football. The current president of the club burned cars ten years ago, stole from supermarkets and fought with the police (and now, I suspect, he continues). With football, with this approach, of course, everything is bad: St. Pauli usually plays in the second league, but the stadium is still always packed, and it’s worth a look.
