Where to get a free map of Pattaya in Russian

Getting a map of Pattaya in Russian is not difficult; there are many places in Pattaya where they will provide it to you for free, so there is no need to buy a map in advance or download it from the Internet. In the digital age, paper maps are just as popular as digital ones, because you can take notes on a paper map of Pattaya, it will never run out of battery and you can safely fold it in four and put it in your back pocket of jeans. The paper map of Pattaya has another big advantage that digital maps do not have; on the back of the card, in addition to advertising, there is also very useful tourist information (mini phrase book, names of Thai dishes, etc.)

A free map of Pattaya in Russian can be found:

  • in exchange offices - many currency exchange offices provide a Pattaya map for free, you can take it at the counter at the exchange office and it is not necessary to change money;
  • in Pattaya hotels - most hotels in Pattaya have free maps of the city, you can find them at the reception and you don’t have to be a guest of this hotel;
  • in city stores - in the most popular stores in Pattaya (Seven Eleven, Family Mart, etc.) you can find advertising stands with free cards (it is advisable to check with the sellers whether the card is free or not). You can also find paid maps of Pattaya in stores (mostly as part of guidebooks), but why would you buy a guidebook for the sake of a map;
  • in large shopping centers in Pattaya - in most large shopping centers there are promoters working and handing out all sorts of leaflets, do not rush to dismiss them, among the advertising you can find a decent map of Pattaya in Russian.

Most free maps of Pattaya will be full of advertisements, such is the price for freeness, although some of the advertisements may be useful.

Pattaya districts on the map

Getting around Pattaya is very easy, especially if you have a detailed map of Pattaya in your hands. The entire city is divided into several districts, most of which face the sea and are the most touristy. There are only four largest areas in Pattaya: Nak Lua (in the north of Pattaya), Central Pattaya, South Pattaya, Pratamnak (the most expensive tourist accommodation here, this area is sometimes called “Russian Pattaya”) and Jomtien in the south. In addition to these areas, Pattaya is adjacent to many villages, which make up a densely populated agglomeration with a total population of more than 500,000 people.

If you look at the map of Pattaya, you can see how the city is structured and it’s really very easy to navigate. Wide streets run parallel to the sea (Pattaya Beach Road, Second Road, Third Road, etc.), these wide streets are connected to each other by the so-called Jays (Soi, which means lane), that’s the whole simple logic of the structure of Pattaya.

Pattaya area Naklua or North Pattaya

The Naklua area is a respectable area in the very north of Pattaya; there are many expensive hotels where Russian tourists with high incomes like to stay. In addition to hotels, there are many condominiums in the Naklua area, some apartments also belong to our compatriots.

Sights of Naklua district:

  • main bus station, buses to Bangkok depart from here;
  • large fish market;
  • small fishing village;
  • the temple of truth is the tallest wooden structure in the world, built without a single nail;
  • several beaches.

Pattaya Central District

The noisiest and most crowded area of the city is Central Pattaya; all the free space of the streets here is occupied by street vendors, massage parlors and numerous hotels and guesthouses.

Along the beach of Central Pattaya stretch the main streets of the area, congested with traffic: Pattaya Beach Rd, Second Road and Third Road, Central Road and Pattaya Tai Road.

Contrary to erroneous opinions that say that the famous Walking Street is located in Central Pattaya - this is not true, Walking Street is located in South Pattaya (this can be seen on the map of Pattaya). But nevertheless (in Central Pattaya) most of the city's large shopping centers are located in this area, the largest of which is called Central Festival.

A pleasant feature of Central Pattaya is its transport accessibility. You can get to/from the Central Pattaya area cheaply by any tuk-tuk, of which there are many, and there are even more routes.

South Pattaya area

The world-famous street of debauchery and entertainment, Volkin Street, is located in this area of Pattaya, however, apart from this street, the South Pattaya area cannot boast of anything else.

There are several important tourist sites in the South Pattaya area that are worth mentioning: South Bus Station, Bali Hai Sea Pier (from where ferries go to Koh Larn), go-kart track, Big C hypermarket.

The biggest attraction of the South Pattaya area is Volkin Street, which during the day is no different from the rest of the streets of Pattaya, but after 18:00 the street is closed to vehicle traffic and hundreds of bars, discos, restaurants, massage parlors open on it (some of which specialize in massage for men) and other tourist attractions.

Neon advertising lights spread like water from Walking Street along the alleys, where nightlife is also in full swing, and numerous Go-Go bars and hotels with hourly rates (Short time rooms) clearly hint at an interesting continuation of the evening.

Pattaya Pratumnak area

The Pratumnak area begins just behind the Bali Hai Pier. This isolated area of Pattaya can be safely called the most respectable and most Russian, and the locals call it “Russian Pattaya”. Many of our compatriots live in this quiet and pleasant area, some rent apartments for a long time in condominiums, and others have their own property.

The water park cafe serves good Thai food (salads, Tom Yam soup, chicken, fried rice, etc.). For tourists it is not very spicy. If you don't like Thai food, a hamburger is offered. In the Pratumnak area there are stones that are popular with local amateur fishermen. You can borrow a fishing rod and go fishing with them.

In terms of nightlife, it’s a quiet place, so if you can’t sleep, go to Walking Street.

Hotels near Pratumnak Beach

Off the coast, in Cliff Bay, there are five-star Sheraton and Royal Cliff.

Lovers, singles and couples without children stay at the Sheraton Pattaya Resort.

Royal Cliff Beach Resort (Royal Wing) is a hotel for everyone.

Four-star economy class hotels are popular among budget tourists - Pattaya Park, Adriatic Palace and Cozy Beach.

Adriatic Palace is located closer to Dong Tan, on the seashore. Designed for singles and couples without children.

Pattaya Park (on the shore) and Cozy Beach (Pratumnak Hill) are hotels for couples and families with children.

Near these hotels there are many Russian-speaking locals who work in establishments aimed at our compatriots.

Near the hill, next to Cozy Beach, there is a secure Peak condominium, which has a swimming pool, steam room, and restaurant.

Thep Thip Mansion condominium is located 200 meters from the beach, next to the water park. In general, Pratamnak is rich in condominiums, which are growing here by leaps and bounds.

There are also guest houses in the area where you can rent rooms with bathrooms. As in all of Pattaya, there is no shortage of housing here

Attractions of Pratumnak Hill Thailand

Pratamnak Hill, which separates Jomtien and central Pattaya, offers beautiful views of the sea (Pattaya Bay), Koh Larn island, Laem Chabang port and the tropics. There is an observation deck on this hill View point, similar to the bow of a ship. Place 10 baht in your binoculars' coin slot and admire the surroundings. Near the observation deck they sell souvenirs, food and drinks. You can refresh yourself with the moisture of a coconut here for 30 baht.

There is still a big one on the hill. Entrance to the site and to the Buddha is free.

It is better to visit Pratumnak Hill after four or five in the evening: the sun is not shining and you can admire the glowing city at dusk.

You can climb up the asphalt road on foot or by motorbike.
Another attraction of the area is the observation tower on the territory of the Pattaya Park Hotel.

The tower is open from 10.30 to 18.00.

Before buying tickets at the entrance, familiarize yourself with the selection and cost of services.

The 52nd, 53rd, 54th floors of the tower are occupied by revolving restaurants. The average cost of a Thai lunch in such a restaurant is 200 baht.

At an altitude of 240 meters there is an observation deck. Descent from this site is offered by cable car, elevators with closed or open cabins. Many Russians like to be tied to a rope and thrown down.

  • For those who for some reason did not go on vacation to the islands, the clean and calm beaches of Pratamnak and the Russian-speaking staff of local establishments are quite suitable.

The Pratumnak Beach area is the second most popular holiday destination in Pattaya. Today we walked along the embankment towards this beach and, judging by what we saw, we were the first among Russian vacationers. But not by the abundance of Russian signs, not by the Russian music coming from the cafes, but by the Russians themselves. There are quite a lot of them here even in the off season.

Pratumnak beach

Pratamnak Beach is replete with five-star hotels. Conventionally, the beach is divided into 4 parts - Dongtan (Adam Beach), Pratumnak beach itself, Asia Hotel beach, and Cozy Beach.

For the convenience of tourists, along the entire beach, starting from Jomtien, there is an alley, from which winding paths to the beach periodically depart. Sometimes cars or motorbikes of cafe and hotel workers come in, but there is no constant flow of cars here. This is one of the advantages that we noted for ourselves at Pratamnak beach. Another nice bonus is free Wi-Fi on the beach.

Also on Pratumnak is the only hotel in Pattaya with a small water park and amusement park - Pattaya Park. The hotel itself and the water park, upon closer inspection, look rather dull and shabby.

Dongtan Beach (Adam beach): gay beach

The first thing that catches your eye when walking to the beach is gay people. Blue Adam Beach is located at the very beginning of Pratumnak. The beach for gays is easy to recognize by the rainbow flags and the contingent of vacationers - only men.

Pratamnak Beach

With the onset of the high season, Pratumnak beach is transformed. All the garbage that can be seen in the off-season floats away somewhere, the water becomes blue and even transparent, and the landscapes are no longer so gray.

Many people swim here, as it is believed that the water is cleaner.

Photo of Pratamnak Beach in low season

Pratamnak is wider than Jomtien, but in June it does not look much more attractive than its neighbor. See the photo to see what the situation is like here in the low season.

The wind from the sea blows constantly. Now I have to walk around with a bandage on my ears

“I'm t-telling you, you have to sunbathe naked! Y-Are you understand me or not?!”

I still don’t understand why small children should be bathed naked in dirty water. Many Russian families do the same

The garbage was quietly distributed along the entire spit along the beach. High and dirty waves rise due to strong winds. The most amazing thing is that in the high season the water is clean and there is no dirt!

The Gulf of Thailand brings all the delights of civilization to the coast. Nobody cleans up trash in some areas of the beach. But Russian tourists are not afraid of anything. In the cold and in the heat, in the mud, but at least I swim in Thailand. I don’t care that a sewer pipe 100 meters away drains all waste into the sea.

This is what Pattaya looks like in winter. That is, in the summer. In Thailand, all the seasons are the other way around: when we have summer, there is winter, and when we have frosts, in Thailand there comes a hot, dry summer. So, the optimal time to visit Pattaya is from November to March.

Well, we won’t swim, we’ll eat ice cream.

In the cold and in the heat - ice cream is always with me

Asia Hotel Beach

The next beach, which also belongs to the Pratumnak area, is Asia Hotel Beach. That's what everyone calls him here. It is separated from neighboring beaches by mountains. You can access it freely through the hotel territory.

Cozy beach

Cozy Beach is considered one of the best beaches in Pattaya. It is also separated from the other beaches by a mountain. The Kozi area, like Pratumnak, is recognized as elite. I don’t know why, though, there’s nothing special about the beach or the area. The Pratumnak hill area ends at this beach. After the mountains, the Central Pattaya region begins.

Pratumnak District

The interior of the area is quite calm. If you come here in the summer, it seems that everything has died out. The quarter is very quiet, there is no public transport here, and there are few people. During the season everything comes to life.

There are several 7-Elevens and Family Marts in the area. Near the Tesco Express beach. It's a 20-30 minute walk to Foodmart. In the very center of the area there is a “Russian market”, where fruits, ready-made food and inexpensive cafes are sold. Many new condominiums are built on quiet streets where cars rarely pass and music from the market is not heard. But there may be a construction site nearby.

From the central part of the Pratumnak area, approximately from the market, where most hotels and condos are located, it takes 5-7 minutes to walk to tuk-tuks. Same to the beach. In the alleys we often notice water dispensers and washing machines (40 baht each).

The area itself is heavily Russified. It seems to me that most Russians live here. In the condominiums, too, the audience is mainly Russian and European, there are a few Thai residents, we have never seen the Chinese, they were seen only on excursions to Pattaya Park. There is no Tagil, and there are no blue couples anywhere except Dongtan Beach. Many families with children vacation on Pratumnak.

Opinions about the Pratumnak area in Pattaya are divided into two options. First option: Pratamnak is an excellent area, expensive, well-groomed, with luxurious condominiums favored by Russians, and a more or less good beach. Second option: Pratumnak in Pattaya is a terrible area, it’s difficult to get out of, it’s expensive to travel, and walking on foot is scary and life-threatening.

But nevertheless, the fact remains that Pratumnak in Pattaya is popular among Russian tourists and winterers. Anyone who has been to Pattaya knows that there are actually a lot of Russians there. This has an advantage - you can always communicate with someone in your own language, find new acquaintances and business contacts.

Consider the Pratumnak area in Pattaya, reviews, what to do, Pratumnak hotels.

Description of the Pratumnak area

The Pratumnak area in Pattaya has become popular for many reasons. Unlike Jomtien and Central Pattaya, there is no heavy traffic along the coastal highway and is generally relatively quiet. Pratamnak in Pattaya is conveniently located relative to the most popular attractions of the resort - the Chinese Temple, Observation Deck and Big Buddha can be reached on foot in just 15 minutes. It will take a little more, about half an hour, to get to Walking Street and the Bali Hai Pier.

A developed tourism infrastructure is important for tourists - there are no problems with this in the Pratumnak area. Restaurants, bars, cafes, massage parlors, rental of equipment necessary for water activities and recreation - all this is available right on the beaches. Of course, there are no very noisy clubs here, so the place is suitable for winterers and families with children.

The isolation of the Pratamnak area is perceived ambiguously among tourists. It's not easy to get here - the nearest tuk-tuk is a few kilometers from Pratamnak. There are no cheap songthaews for 10 baht here. So you have to turn to the services of tuk-tuks and motorcycle taxis for help, but this is not cheap. But at the same time, such inaccessibility is an additional guarantee that “random” people will not interfere with your vacation, since on the beaches you can meet mainly guests from nearby hotels and condominiums.

In Pratumnak, Pattaya, you can also buy gifts and souvenirs for your loved ones at two local markets. By the way, they are very convenient for visiting - there are places to relax between purchases. Local goods are sold on the stalls; you can see all the flavor of Pattaya.

Be sure to take a walk along the main street of the area - Pratumnak. This way you definitely won’t get lost while looking for local attractions - after all, it leads to the Lookout Point, Buddha Hill and ends near the pier from which you can get to the neighboring island of Koh Larn. But be careful, because you won't see any sidewalks on this street. This is a feature of only the central street; all other streets and alleys have sidewalks for pedestrians.

Beaches in Pratumnak: main features

The first reason why tourists from all over the world come to Pratumnak is the more or less clean and comfortable beaches.

Anyone who has seen the beaches of Pattaya does not swim here. But in Pratamnak people go into the sea, I saw it myself. The beach is conventionally divided into 4 main parts - Pratumnak beach, Dongtan (Adam Beach), Cozy Beach and Asia Hotel Beach. All of them are unique in their kind and have their own differences.

Pratumnak beach begins to change right before our eyes with the onset of the high tourist season. Before welcoming tourists, they literally clean it up - so you won’t see any, not even the slightest, garbage there. Of course, after such cleaning, the water literally becomes clear. This beach is mainly visited by vacationers from neighboring hotels and inns. There are a lot of people here during the high season, but not as many as on Central Beach.

The best beaches in Pratumnak are Cozy Beach and Dongtan.

The infrastructure on the coast is well developed - all the necessary services are available to tourists. There are also plenty of thoughtful activities and entertainment. Particularly popular are water activities - a speedboat ride along the shore (from 2,500 baht), riding a water scooter (1,000-1,500 baht) and, of course, a banana boat (1,100 baht).

For a comfortable time on the beach, you can rent sun loungers and umbrellas, if this is not provided in the list of services provided by the hotel. But in general, sunbathing in Pratumnak is better than in Central Pattaya, since there are many green shelters on the shore.

There are other beaches in Pattaya. For example, near the Pattaya Park and Adriatic Palace hotels there are municipal recreation areas that are free for everyone to visit.

It is very crowded here, because not only tourists, but also local residents come there to relax. But this does not affect the beauty and cleanliness - garbage is removed there regularly. Near other Sheraton and Royal Cliff hotels, the beaches are closed to outside visitors, and you can only get there from the area where you are renting accommodation.

Pratumnak in Pattaya: comfort on the beaches, list of services provided

A good holiday is impossible without full service and comfort. When you go to Pratumnak in Pattaya, you will not be disappointed, as you will not only enjoy beautiful views, but also benefit from good infrastructure for tourists.

Some people mistakenly believe that prices in Pratumnak are high compared to other areas of Pattaya. If you have the opportunity to visit different parts of the city, you will be able to see that the prices are approximately the same. You can eat at a cafe for 100 baht, and a massage at my favorite massage parlor, Savanna, in Pratumnak, costs 250 baht.

Pratamnak in Pattaya is distinguished by a large number of cafes and bars on the coast; further from the coast there are numerous hotels and inns that are ready to welcome tourists at any time of the year. There are merchants on the beach who offer tourists a choice of food and drinks, but if you have special preferences, they will also fulfill them for an additional fee. There are not many shops here, but there is a 7-Eleven.

The development of services on Pratumnak keeps up with the times, so there is free Wi-Fi on the beaches. Unfortunately, the data transfer speed is not as fast as we would like, but it is enough to scroll through pages on Instagram or Twitter. Of course, you won't be able to watch movies online, so it's better to go to your local cinema (although the movie will be in Thai or English).

What to do in Pratumnak in Pattaya: activities and attractions

One of the advantages of a holiday in Pratumnak in Pattaya is its close proximity to popular attractions of the city - Buddha Mountain, a Chinese temple and an observation deck. You can get to them on foot in 15-30 minutes. Along the way there is a magnificent park - one of the few in the city. There we also found wonderful barrels of water - you can cool off in the heat.

Be sure to visit the View Point observation deck - it offers amazing views of Pattaya.

Here you can not only take a lot of wonderful shots, but also see a monument to one of the most revered people in Thailand - Prince Krom. Locals consider this place sacred, so fresh flowers are constantly brought there.

When visiting this attraction, remember the rules that must be followed there. Smoking and wearing open clothes are prohibited here; also note that you should not take water or food with you, since taking it there is also prohibited.

Among the places of worship on the hill is Wat Khao Phra Bat, where you can see statues corresponding to different days of the week. If you want to receive an individual blessing from a monk, then this temple has such an opportunity.

As for entertainment, the main ones, without which it is difficult to imagine a holiday for a modern tourist, are enough to not get bored. Of course, the Pratumnak area has room to develop and has not yet built a nightclub there. If this is a fundamental issue for you, then you can visit the clubs on Volkin Street - getting there by mobile transport is only 15 minutes.

Also nearby in Pratumnak there are no shopping and entertainment centers in the form to which we are accustomed. But this is well compensated by the presence of various trading stalls and small shops - they have everything you need for relaxation and interesting things for gifts and souvenirs.

How to get to and from Pratumnak

This issue worries many tourists, especially since many share their negative experiences in their reviews. Indeed, in Pratumnak there are certain difficulties with this, since there is no public transport there. Fortunately, you can get there on foot, but only during the day. If you don’t want to strain your legs, taxi drivers offer services. In addition to regular taxi cars, there are motorcycle taxis (motosai) - they are cheaper in cost, on average you need to pay from 100-250 baht for such a trip. The savings are obvious when compared to a car equipped with air conditioning for 250 baht.

During the day from Pratumnak in Pattaya to Bali Hai - 150-200 baht, in the evening back from the center - 300 baht. It's a long way from Songthaew. And not every tuk-tuk or motorbike rides. They make faces: “Is this going uphill? Nope..." Walking at night from Pratamnak is dangerous. You can mentally lose a certain amount of money and other valuables. You can’t go anywhere without personal transport, or immediately budget money for a taxi. The Thais are not fools either, and they understand that you can’t just get out of the Pratamnak area on foot, the price tag is growing quickly.

Selecting suitable housing: the best options

When analyzing different accommodation options in Pattaya, please note that in addition to hotels, it is possible to rent a room, condominium or an entire house from a private owner. To get an idea of prices, consider several options at once. On average, you can rent a room for 400-900 baht per day. If you decide to stay here for a long time, then you need to provide at least 10,000 baht for rent.

These prices are relevant for houses located near the coastline. Typically, such housing involves a small studio room, which, however, is sufficient for living with children. If you want to rent housing for a large group, then a condominium with separate apartments of one or two rooms is ideal. For this, you will accordingly have to pay a large amount - 16-25,000 baht per month.

Pratumnak Hotels

It is easier for tourists to rent a hotel room, since they can book it themselves or through a travel agency. In Pratumnak in Pattaya there is a good selection of hotels with different levels of service and cost. There are very well-known expensive chains and several guesthouses here. Let's look at the main list of hotels in Pratumnak.

Pratumnak Beach is not a party beach at all; it is intended more for a relaxed, contemplative holiday than for fun. There are not very many people here even in high season, and even in off-season you can watch marvelous sunsets almost alone, sitting on the sand. Some parts of the beach belong to hotels, but independent travelers can also relax here.

Advantages and disadvantages

Pratumnak beach has many advantages:

  • the length is 500 meters, which is not much, so the beach seems cozy;
  • the width of the coastline is about 20 meters;
  • the entrance to the water is gentle, comfortable, you can relax with children;
  • the beach is surrounded on all sides by rocks, so there are no strong winds or big waves;
  • the water and sand are relatively clean, better than in more central areas;
  • the territory itself is quite well-groomed;
  • There is a water park and an amusement park nearby;
  • You can rent beach equipment;
  • there is no busy highway.

The disadvantages are minimal:

  • Whether it’s a disadvantage or not is up to you, but there are a lot of gays on the beach, so if you’re homophobic, look for another place to relax;
  • in February-March strong winds still blow, so swimming and even just sunbathing becomes cool;
  • At the same time, debris periodically washes up on the shore.

Infrastructure

It is quite developed, but to do this you need to go up from the beach closer to the city: there are restaurants, shops, and excursions. On the beach itself there are only stalls with street food, rental of sunbeds and boards and traditional entertainment: bananas, kayaks, water skis. Nearby are the main attractions of the resort city: the main observation deck, Big Buddha, Pattaya Park and the marvelous Chinese Temple.

Hotels

The most expensive hotel in the area is , where prices start from several thousand rubles per night; next to it is the Royal Beach View Hotel, which is also not cheap. But in general, there are many budget hotels on the first and second lines, and even further from the sea there are guesthouses and hostels. In addition, you can check into an apartment where you will have your own kitchen and other amenities, and where you can stay for the winter with a beautiful view of the bay. With all the options and prices for accommodation in the area, you can

How to get there?

There is no public transport in the Pratumnak area, so you can either walk to the beach itself or take a taxi or your own transport. From other parts of the city, it is optimal to get to the fork on Pratamnak Hill (tuk-tuk for 10 baht), and then you can walk to the beach from the 5th street of Pratamnak. Taxi to the beach from the center of Pattaya from 150 baht and from 300 baht from remote areas of Naklua or Jomtien, a motorcycle taxi will cost less - from 50 to 150 baht.
