City-sized cruise ship: Harmony of the Seas. Cruise ship "Harmony of the Seas" - description and photo

Liner Allure of the Seas and Victor

Allure of the Seas - "The Charm of the Seas"

Today's trip, or rather a cruise, will take place on one of the largest ships in the world - the liner Allure of the Seas.
My cousin Victor continues to share memories of his journey.
In and we have already visited with him - he was there in September last year quite realistically, but we - virtually, according to photographs and his previous stories. I will continue my interview started in previous articles.
  • Victor, did you imagine the dimensions of the Allure of the Seas liner?
Tanyusha, we live in the era of the Internet, and before flying to New York and then to Miami, of course, I collected all possible information about the future cruise.
I learned that the Allure of the Seas liner is considered to be one of the largest cruise ships in the world today. It is 5 centimeters longer than its similar counterpart Oasis of the Seas, and only 2 centimeters shorter than the Harmony of the Seas liner, built after it quite recently, but not yet launched.
It rises 65 meters above the sea waves, Allure of the Seas is 360 meters long and 64 meters wide. It's like three football fields in area!
The first time I saw both ships at once - Oasis of the Seas andAllure of the Seas in their home port of residence, near Miami (about 45 km.), Fort Lauderdale. From there our cruise began.

In the port of Fort Lauderdale

I even took my breath away! Ah, what beauties! Look like two twins. The liners were built at the shipyards Aker Yards. This is in Finland. The ships are almost brand new, built recently. The Allure of the Seas liner was launched at the end of November 2010.
  • What feelings did you experience when you first saw this colossus with your own eyes, on which you had to travel all 8 days?

You understand, seeing a liner in a picture is one thing, and quite another live. He just charmed me. No wonder the name Allure of the Seas is translated as "Charm of the Seas". Imagine a floating city with skyscrapers somewhere in the 22-23 floors. I counted 16 decks, later I found out that 5400 passengers can walk on them. And all this colossus is served by the ship's crew of 2384 people.

They have a lot of work, only 2704 cabins, and also a huge number of various entertainment and recreational facilities and complexes. There is a theater, an aquatheatre, an ice skating rink, 4 swimming pools, 10 hot tubs, a jacuzzi, carousels, Spa-salons. Even a mini-golf course is provided, not to mention volleyball and basketball courts, climbing walls, treadmills and various exercise equipment.

But what can I say, if there are three streets on the ship itself: Central Park with living trees and plants is the main street.

There are shops, boutiques and many bars. Then a 3-story street - with restaurants, cafes on the lower two floors and cabins on the third.

And also a bar that changes its location, something resembling an elevator.

From the world of fantasy.

You only see this in science fiction films. I'm not talking about casinos, nightclubs and jazz clubs! In a word - everywhere chic and shock from everything you see!
  • Wow! So is it possible to get lost or lost there?
You can, but many take special iPhone identification bracelets, they are especially popular with parents with children.
There is expanse for children - there are playrooms where they can play different professions, something like the one you talked about when you were in Dubai. All kinds of playgrounds, children's theater, teen discos, a laboratory with scientific experiments - where children comprehend the secrets of the world.
But the most important thing is that characters from popular cartoons are walking around on the ship: Shrek, Kung Fu Pandas and Madagascar. Children squeal with delight, having met them by chance.

  • Did you feel the pitching and how did you endure it.
The ship is so big that there is absolutely no pitching! Its weight, or more correctly, its displacement is 226 thousand tons, and the power of all diesel plants is 132 thousand horsepower. This is somewhere like 500 Toyota Land Cruiser 200 SUVs! You know how strong a storm needs to be to rock it.
  • And how is the service on the liner, was the safety of passengers respected?
Service at the highest level. We have a steward in our cabin, or whatever he is called there, every day he built funny birds out of towels.

In the cabin, a towel can hang like this

And on the bed - he left funny little animals.

Did you meet the elephant?

He was very helpful and attentive, as well as the entire crew of the liner.
The safety of passengers was very closely monitored, because among such a huge number of tourists there were sometimes "acrobats" who took a little too much in the bar, or overheated in the sun. But, it should be noted that in general the audience was respectable.

Honorable audience on board

  • Victor, not only those who won some kind of competition and whose expenses were paid by the insurance company were sailing on the liner. There were just tourists. Do you know how much it cost them approximately to cruise on this ship?
Somehow, walking along the deck, I got into a conversation with a couple of pensioners who speak Russian. They come from the Union, but have long been living in America. They said that they paid a little more than 4 thousand dollars for the cruise.
True, it can be cheaper, or it can be more expensive - it all depends on the class of the chosen cabins.

Cabins on the right, cabins on the left

They had a cabin with an ocean view. Interior cabins cost significantly less. It should be borne in mind that in September and April prices are lower than at other times of the year. And on big holidays: New Year, March 8th, prices almost double.
  • How were you fed, what surprised you?
The food was very tasty. They offered several dishes to choose from. There were seafood, meat dishes, and different types of pasta. And the fruits are such that many I have not eaten before, have not seen, and have not heard about them.

Haiti, Haiti. We are well fed on the ship

  • Didn't you have the feeling that a luxurious liner could repeat the fate of the Titanic, which at one time was also the largest liner in the world?
It didn't even cross my mind! The liner is so reliable, because it was built by top-level professionals, and there are enough lifeboats hanging on the sides. 🙂

  • Um, as history shows, the ark was made by an amateur, and the Titanic was made by professionals. . What do you say to that?
There are different things in life, but for some reason the work of the master always looks better. Like it or not, boots are better sewn by a shoemaker. 🙂
  • I can see from the photos that you did not pass by the casino. Aren't you afraid to lose?

Well, I'm a positive person, you said it yourself. 🙂 So I thought positively, that's why I won. True, the amount was quite small, I did not take any more risks. In a casino, the main thing is to stop on time. It was just interesting to see the process of the game itself, to participate in it, to feel the atmosphere in which the player experiences adrenaline. You don't see a casino like this very often.

  • Where was your floating city liner going?
We sailed to Haiti, and then to Jamaica. Further the way lay to Mexico with a stopover in the port of Cozumel.

The Florida-based firm is hoping to find investors for its unique $10 billion project, a 1.4-kilometer floating city. The vessel, which received the name "Freedom Ship" ("Ship of Freedom"), should be the largest ever built by mankind and has no analogues. It is designed to be a completely autonomous place to live, heal, work, study, relax and have fun.

The project includes the equipment on board the "Freedom Ship" of apartments, clubs, art galleries, a park, a circus, ponds with waterfalls, large marine aquariums and many other various places for entertainment and recreation. It will be the largest duty-free shopping area with a giant mall. The superstructure of the ship, consisting of 25 decks, will provide space for libraries and schools, sports clubs and fitness centers, hospitals and medical centers, shops and banks, offices and light industry.

As a cruise ship, the Freedom Ship will continuously follow the same route around the globe, visiting most coastal areas around the world. Equipped on its upper deck, a runway and an airport for meeting and servicing helicopters and small private aircraft, as well as its own fleet of yachts, boats and submarines, would help passengers easily cross from shore to shore.

According to the plan, the city will have a length of 1,370 meters, a maximum width of 229 meters, a height of 107 meters and a displacement of about 2.5 million tons. It will accommodate 100,000 people, including 80,000 passengers and guests, as well as 20,000 crew members and a attendant. The hotels will provide permanent accommodation for 10,000 people.

The developers believe that the whole idea of the autonomous floating city project should be based on four main components. First of all, it is a commercial area with the necessary number of jobs, able to satisfy the needs and interests of the entire population on board the ship. The second is the appropriate transport infrastructure to ensure the daily movement of goods and people. The third is a powerful all-level educational sector with highly qualified professionals. Finally, a healthcare system with a sufficient number of medical posts and clinics should be organized on board the floating city. If the Freedom Ship territory receives these four "keys", the city will live and prosper, and the value of business and housing in it will grow exponentially.

Speaking of the safety of a vessel of such unprecedented dimensions, the designers assure that, with a flat 1,370 meter long and 229 meter wide hull, the Freedom Ship will have unsurpassed stability for a smooth ride in the roughest seas. As additional measures, it is planned to equip about 600 isolated and individually controlled sections with water and air inside the hull.

Having completed a multi-year design phase, the Freedom Ship team is currently trying to find investors to realize this extraordinary project. "This is going to be a very hard project to capitalize on, and the world economy hasn't been very interested in unproven progressive projects like ours in the last few years," said Freedom Ship Project Manager Roger M. Gooch. "[But] we've seen a lot of interest in the project over the last six months and we're hoping to raise US$1 billion to start construction." The total cost of the project is estimated at US$10 billion.

Human engineering genius allows you to create truly amazing things. For a long time, the Titanic was considered one of the largest ships. Now a ship has been born that can more than double the size of the infamous ship.

Carnival Cruise Lines, the largest cruise ship operator in the world today, is launching its largest ship yet. The construction of the giant ship cost the company 630 million pounds sterling, the ship is able to take on board 6,600 passengers (three times more than the Titanic), there are 17 restaurants, 23 bars and even a water park on its decks. The cruise ship will begin its first voyage in December this year. The ship will go to the Canary Islands.

There are many more interesting things on the decks of the new liner (and there are 20 of them in total!) There are numerous viewing platforms, a casino, a mini-golf course, and even a rock climbing stand. There are several gyms and a spa on board. It is clear that the lucky ones who can afford a ticket to this cruise will find any entertainment without any problems.

On the upper deck of the ship is a luxurious penthouse for the wealthiest passengers. It offers a wonderful view of the ocean expanses. It is curious that with all the benefits and scale of the liner described, the ship is quite clean from an environmental point of view. Separately, mention should be made of a funny picture that was painted along the side of the ship. This work of art was made by the German master Felix Butter. It took him 50 liters of black, red and orange paint to draw the Carnival symbol.

If outside the ship impresses with its scale, then inside - with luxury. Only the best and most modern materials were used for interior design. Every square meter is a work of art. It is important that even typical common areas do not seem like such thanks to a successful finish. We can safely say that this ship is an island of paradise, plying the world's oceans.

A cruise ship, known for its large dimensions, went on its first sailing excursion by sea. The liner Harmony of the Seas was designed in the French Republic and has a length of 362 meters. After he was finally put into practice, he was sent to the port of Great Britain, where his first trip to the sea arose.

The owner of the overall vessel is the Royal Caribbean company. On the company's own account, there are already ships with dimensions of maximum parameters. One can distinguish such liners as Oasis of the Seas and Allure of the Seas, the length of which is about 360 meters. A colleague of these vessels, Harmony of the Seas, has an advantage in footage of only a couple of meters, but lost to them by the same amount in elevation.

For 3 years, work was underway on the construction of this modern liner, which took place at the French shipyard STX in Saint-Nazaire. About 3 thousand workers took part in the design and construction of the ship, and about 1 billion rubles were spent by the owner on the construction of the future cruise giant.

On average, during a cruise, the ship moves at a speed of 40 kilometers per hour.

There are 2,747 cabins and 18 decks on board, 23 swimming pools, and a botanical garden with trees and more than 10,000 plants.

Harmony of the Seas is capable of hosting over 6,400 guests and 2,100 crew members.

You won't be bored on the ship. There are a casino, a theater, wonderful cafes, restaurants, bars with robotic waiters, a water park with water slides, a climbing wall and much more.

All summer the cruise ship will cruise the waters of the Mediterranean Sea.

The Royal Caribbean cruise ship Harmony of the Seas is simply amazing. It looks more like a full-fledged resort town than a cruise ship. In terms of luxury, amenities and comfort, it surpasses most five-star hotels.

The new cruise ship Harmony of the Seas will embark on its first cruise in 2017 and offer guests a unique experience never seen before. According to Royal Caribbean, this will be a completely new cruise experience. Before Harmony, the largest liner was "Allure of the Seas", which translates as Charm of the Seas.

The cruise liner Harmony of the Seas is divided into seven different areas, which will allow guests to enjoy different types of recreation at any time of the day. Here you can ride the Flowrider surf simulator, climb the rope, take a walk in the central park, watch a movie in a 3D cinema, or have fun at a full-fledged carnival.

Able to comfortably accommodate 6,360 guests and 2,100 crew members, the cruise ship Harmony of the Seas is designed to be a complete floating city. Already, all the places on the first cruises are booked, as too many people want to appreciate the full luxury of the new ship.
