Having checked in our luggage at the Drop Off counter, we went to passport control, and then to the Duty Free zone.

Buses brought to the stuffy terminal! The Greeks at passport control worked for a very long time, because of the freezing of the computer, one of our flights was served only for an hour, it's hard to imagine what's going on when 747 arrives!

4. Diagoras Airport
Departures Terminal was much better, cool and not so crowded!


They registered us at counters 25-27! We were the first to arrive at the airport and stood at counter 25, where check-in to Pulkovo was still going on. After 25 minutes of waiting, check-in for the Moscow flight began, but check-in for St. Petersburg was still going on at our counter! And on the 26th and 27th racks there were already a lot of people, we didn’t know where to go! The woman who worked at counter 26 spoke Russian and said that she would check in through one and our turn! Cattle-citizens were immediately alarmed and a scandal began!


Well, we went through this torture and duty, passport control and inspection, everything went quickly! Then we pass to the clean zone.

On the second floor of the terminal, the baggage of departing passengers is checked out and sorted, and security services are checked. On this tier, passengers often rest, dine, buy souvenirs on the road. Thanks to the cinema area, people can relax while waiting for boarding.

At the specified airport, terminal D is practically not used. Only flights from the North Caucasus region come to this branch. It is possible that the terminal will have to stop functioning soon. There is no access to it, and you can get here through other terminals. In addition, you should be aware that cashiers and other attendants stop working 40 minutes before the plane takes off. If you arrived at the place in less than 20 minutes, you will not get on board.

In a word, the terminal performs an important function for Vnukovo: it serves flights for the municipal government of the capital. Near Vnukovo-3 there is a parking space, there is also a closed room in which urgent business negotiations and meetings are held. Not everyone gets into this sector, only guests with VIP status or participants and invalids of the Great Patriotic War, heroes of the USSR and the Russian Federation.

Driving directions to the airport

You already know that when arriving at Vnukovo, Terminal A will become the most popular. Therefore, you need to think over your arrival at the terminal in advance. The best option would be to use the services of the Aeroexpress, which leaves from the Kievsky railway station. The first train leaves at 6 am and runs at intervals of one hour. You can get to sector A through an underground passage, to sector B - along the street.

In addition to this option, you can choose a trip by taxi or minibus. For example, from the Yugo-Zapadnaya metro station, buses run constantly. In 25-40 minutes (excluding traffic jams) they will deliver passengers to the desired point.

Terminal-A has several levels. The third ground level of the terminal is used for check-in of departing passengers; the upper level of the flyover is attached to it. The fourth ground level of the terminal is allocated for VIP passengers, where VIP lounges and meeting rooms are provided.

The first and second ground levels of the terminal are dedicated to the arrivals area, while the second provides a transit office. The baggage claim area is located on the first floor.

The lower level (underground) is the exit to the Aeroexpress railway station. There are also left-luggage offices, operational check-in desks for passengers arriving from the Kievsky railway station to Vnukovo airport by Aeroexpress.

Special conditions in the new terminal-A are created for passengers with disabilities. In all halls, the “smooth floor” system is implemented to the maximum.
