Scary stories and mystical stories. Linnanmyaki Amusement Park Tips for Future Visitors Lotte World Amusement Park in Seoul, South Korea

Working days are behind, you need to unwind from the work routine. Where to go? And we went to the amuzement park (amusement park), we have been going there for a long time. At the same time, we will repeat the English language.

What do you do when you're sad or bored? When everything seems gray and faceless, the day flows smoothly into the next day and it seems that you are already choking on these identical days. And nothing causes emotions... What to do?

That's right, you need to remember your childhood and how to scream! And it can be done painlessly for neighbors in an amusement park with attractions - amusement park! At the same time, we will repeat the English language, we will call all the attractions in English.

Now there are many theme parks with attractions dedicated to one theme - theme parks(for example, Disneyland).

entertainment parks have been known since ancient times, the first amusement park appeared in Europe in the 16th century!

But it was more like a circus - circle. And now in some parks it is, and you can see performance(performance) with participation clowns(clowns) acrobats(acrobats) tightrope walkers(equilibrists).

clowns attack people

By the 19th century, many amusement parks had merry-go-round, or carousels(carousels), and later there were other attractions, and slides with steep drops(hard falls)!

Let's start with the famous and probably the most exciting - roller coaster.

roller coaster. We call them roller coasters, which is logical, since they were first built there, and in America and Europe they are often called roller coasters. And all because our ice slides gave them the idea - ice slides known since the 17th century!

Roller Coaster - Roller coaster

Apart from roller coaster there are many other attractions - rides:

You can just enjoy the beautiful view from Ferris Wheel(which, by the way, are increasingly appearing outside the amusement park.

For example, the well-known London Eye. 🙂

London Eye

In addition to rides, there are other ways to stir up nerves. For example, haunted house(House with the ghosts).

haunted house

Well, so many emotions in one day - to defend a huge queue for the ticket office(line at the cashier), ride the rides, shout, get a storm of emotions - after this you can get hungry in order! Don't worry, you won't be left hungry here - there's sure to be cafeteria / snack bar(cafeteria diner).

I don’t know about you, but my first association is cotton candy / candy floss(candy floss).

And for the little ones there will also be entertainment - petting zoo(interactive, tactile zoo for children), puppet show(puppet theater), and, of course, inflatable / bouncy castle(bouncy castle-trampoline).

Now let's practice. Try to translate the dialogue yourself, without peeking into the translation.

Why don't we go on that ride? (Why don't we go to that ride?)

— Roller coaster? no way! It's too scary! (Roller coaster? No way! It's too scary!)

— You are not going to chicken out, are you? (You're not going to get cold feet, are you?)

- I don't know... I always feel frightened, dizzy and sick, you know...

— Come on! It's such a fun! It's so thrilling and exciting! Let's go and try! (Come on! It's so fun! It's so exciting and exciting! Let's go try it!)

— You'd better go alone. I’ll wait for you here, take some photos, eat some candy floss… or I might go to bumper cars. (You'd better go alone. I'll wait here for you, take some photos, eat cotton candy... or maybe go to the cars.)

— You can't be serious! Let's go! (You're not serious! Let's go!)

So, don't you regret? (Well, don't you regret it?)

— Oh my gosh!!! (Oh my God!)

Does it mean "yes" or "no"? Are you dizzy, sick… or disappointed? Does it mean "yes" or "no"? Are you feeling dizzy, nauseous or disappointed?

— Oh, my gosh! Let's go there again! (Oh God! Let's go again!)

To cheer you up a little, we offer a short video of our trip to Chimelong Amuzement Park.

Some rides were really scary. Don't believe? Watch the video!

Today we decided to go to a fairy tale... Or rather, to tell you about the most famous amusement parks in the world created by Walt Disney. Despite the fact that all five Disneyland parks are united by a common theme and decorated with a Mickey Mouse logo, each of them has its own "face". Which one, HELLO.RU will tell you.

Disneyland Los Angeles (Disneyland Park)

The first amusement park was opened in Anaheim in 1955 by Walt Disney himself, while all subsequent amusement parks were released only after his death. The idea to create a park that would be interesting for both adults and children came to the creator of "cartoons" in the 1940s, during his trip with his daughters around the United States. At first, he did not realize the scale of the project, so he bought a very small piece of land for development. However, meetings with investors, discussions with architects and designers have made their adjustments, and now Disney is already acquiring 160 acres of orange groves and walnut trees in Anaheim (southeast Los Angeles).

The businessmen whom Disney called for help did not believe in the success of such a large-scale project, so the director took most of the money from his own pocket. To give the children Disneyland, he had to give away almost all his savings and sell one of his houses. In total, $17 million was spent on the construction of the first park. However, as it is already clear, he more than paid back all the expenses - a net and rather large profit “fell down” on Disney a year after the opening of the park.

Disneyland in California The opening itself, which took place on July 17, 1955, was, to put it mildly, a failure. Only the lazy did not laugh at Walt Disney then. 28 thousand people came to the park, instead of 11 thousand invited. It was so hot outside that the asphalt began to melt, and the ladies ruined all the dress shoes. Goods, including drinking water, quickly ran out, and the rides simply did not have time to give everyone a ride. Walt Disney found a way out of this situation - he offered to forget about this day and make a new discovery. For many subsequent decades, on the orders of the creator of the park, the birthday of the park was celebrated on July 18th.

California Disneyland in 1960

California "Disneyland" is divided into 8 thematic zones (countries), in which, in addition to attractions, there are shops and restaurants. In total, Disneyland has 34 cafes and restaurants, in which 3 million hamburgers, 2 million hot dogs and 6.5 million servings of french fries are eaten by hungry visitors a year.

Continuing the counting of numbers, it is worth noting that the Disney park is also an excellent labor exchange. Now it employs more than 21 thousand people who are busy cleaning, repairing and maintaining order on the rides every minute. As conceived by Walt Disney himself, these people do not have a division into professions, so everyone - from electricians and cleaners to Mickey Mouse life-size puppets - are "members of the troupe" or "actors".

The functioning of the park is incredibly well thought out. For example, in order to make trash cans and other unattractive items less visible, the park administration decided to paint them in a special shade of green, which was mixed by the Disney people themselves. Another interesting point: the park has more than 200 wild cats, which are released from their houses all night to catch mice - a very convenient move.

By the way, Walt Disney himself was very fond of visiting the park, so in one of the buildings (on Main Street), the director ordered an apartment to be built for him. The workers always knew when he was in it - this was evidenced by the light lit in the window. Now, in memory of Walt Disney, the lights in his apartment are never turned off, so visitors can imagine that they are still being watched by the "fabulous" creator.

The fate of other famous people is connected with the history of the park. So, for example, in his youth, actor Steve Martin worked part-time at the "Magic Shop" (Magic Shop) in the theme park during the summer holidays. It turns out that the first viewers of the popular comedian were visitors and employees of Disneyland.

As for the park itself, it has gone through several major ups and downs and has even been on the verge of closing several times. At the turn of the 80s and 90s, the popularity of the adventure park began to decline, and the rides were no longer properly monitored, which led to several accidents.

Everything changed in the mid-1990s. The park expanded, and a huge hotel was opened on its territory. The 50th anniversary of Disneyland was celebrated on a grand scale - as much as 18 months. Now the California amusement park is one of the most visited attractions in the world, and more than 16 million people ride the Walt Disney rides a year. Over the years, the park closed its gates to visitors only a few times: on November 22, 1963, when US President John F. Kennedy was assassinated, and on September 11, 2001, when a terrorist attack took place in New York. Also, sometimes Disneyland closes earlier than usual (by notifying visitors in advance) if delegations, film crews and VIP clients arrive there.

Disneyland Florida (Walt Disney World)

The second Walt Disney theme park was opened on October 1, 1971 in Florida, 5 years after the director's death. The development and selection of the territory began during the life of Walt, and continued by his brother Roy Disney. The opening of a second park in the densely populated western region of the country, where tourism is highly developed, was a logical and reasonable step.

In the year of opening, about 10 thousand people visited the park, but now more than 50 thousand people come to relax and have fun at Walt Disney World every day. On its territory there are 4 thematic zones, 3 water parks and the city of Downtown Disney, which is an entertainment complex with numerous restaurants, clubs and bars.

Zac Efron at Downtown Disney, 2007 The futuristic Epcot Center zone makes it special and unlike other Disney parks in Florida. As conceived by Walt Disney, this utopian place is a city of the future with schools, residential buildings, and its own transport system. In the city of dreams, there are unusual attractions in the form of spaceships and various fantastic objects.

Epcot Center By the way, now on the territory of an amusement park in Florida you can not only ride the rides, but also get married (a special zone was created there for this), and then stay in one of the 27 thousand hotel rooms located on the territory of the hotel complex.

Disneyland in Tokyo (Tokyo Disney Resort)

The first Disneyland outside the United States opened in Tokyo in 1983. To this day, the Japanese amusement park is considered one of the most beautiful in the world. The complex also consists of several zones, there are 7 of them in Tokyo Disneyland, it has 47 attractions. Another complex owned by Disney and located nearby is Disney Sea - an even more impressive park, which consists of "marine" zones - "Mermaid Lagoon", "Mysterious Island", "Lost River Delta" and others.

And although the characters that can be found on the streets of the park are the same - Donald Duck, Chip and Dale, Mickey and Mini Mouse and others - the park still has national features. So, for example, all employees of Tokyo Disneyland are Japanese.

Disneyland in Tokyo

"Disneyland" in Tokyo is so gigantic that it is almost impossible to navigate it on foot. For these purposes, special trains were created that run around the territory at intervals of 5 minutes and make 4 stops on their way. Due to the scale of the park, the creators had to build a whole underground network with tunnels and staff rooms. Over the years of its existence, this underground world has acquired many legends and, which is typical of Japanese culture, many of them are associated with ghosts and people lost in the transitions. According to one of them, at night under the amusement park, the ghost of Goofy walks, which belongs to a man-mast-up puppet, who got lost and died in the dungeon many years ago.

Another legend says that one of the most luxurious casinos in the world is located in the Tokyo park, invented by Walt Disney himself during his lifetime. According to rumors, such a fun gambling establishment opens its doors only to the richest and most famous people in the world.

Disneyland Paris (Disneyland Resort Paris)

The first and so far the only Disneyland in Europe is located in France, 32 kilometers from Paris. It was opened on April 12, 1992 and spread over 1943 hectares. The construction of Eurodisneyland began to be planned back in 1972, and Spain and France were candidate countries (as a result, Spain had its own PortAventura park, in no way inferior to Disneyland). On the territory of Disneyland there are two theme parks Disneyland Park and Walt Disney Studios Park, an amusement park Disney Village, a golf course Golf Disneyland, as well as hotels, business and residential areas.

Disneyland Paris Although all parks differ from each other in the set of attractions, there are those that are repeated in all Disneyland: Haunted House, Roller Coaster, Ferris Wheel and Flight to the Stars. The most popular attraction in the Parisian park is Pirates of the Caribbean. More than 6.5 million tourists come to see the ships, reefs and waterfalls every year.

Despite the obvious benefits for the tourism industry in France, the project was initially treated "coolly". According to some critics, the "symbol of America in France" may stimulate "an unhealthy American type of consumerism" here. The controversy lasted a long time, but this did not prevent Disneyland Paris from becoming one of the symbols of the country and entering the top five most visited places in the world. According to preliminary estimates, 59 million euros have been spent by visitors to the Parisian amusement park since its opening, and this amount, of course, is constantly growing.

Michael Jackson at Disneyland Paris

The most interesting places in Disneyland Paris are the Sleeping Beauty Castle, over which stunning fireworks are arranged at sunset; the Space mountain attraction, at the opening of which Sir Elton John himself once sang; Lilly's boutique, dedicated to Walt Disney's wife and decorated with her images (you can buy a "princess dress" and other fabulous accessories for adults and children) and, of course, the deserted hotel with "ghosts" The Hollywood Tower Hotel.

Disneyland in Hong Kong

The youngest Disney amusement park was opened in Hong Kong in 2005. What distinguishes the Hong Kong park from American and European prototypes is its adaptation to Asian culture. So, for example, the design and construction of the resort was carried out in full compliance with the rules of Feng Shui. It is also unusual to hear from the heroes of long-known cartoons in Chinese, but this was one of the conditions for the construction - all the characters will be adapted to Asian realities and "translated" into Chinese.

By the way, you will have to feel the spirit of Disney long before you get to the park itself. Special subway trains go there from Hong Kong, fully stylized and decorated with the symbol of the park - the image of Mickey Mouse.

Train to Disneyland

Traditionally, the territory of the park is divided into several zones, which, in addition to attractions, include restaurants, shops and cinemas. By the way, the latter will especially impress fans of this genre - such a level of animation (4D + smells) as in Hong Kong Disneyland, according to tourists, was not even dreamed of by James Cameron. In addition, the largest projection screen (45.5 meters) is also located on the territory of the complex, on which Disney films are broadcast under the open sky.

Disneyland in Hong Kong

I have lived in fear for several years now. I remember it. I needed to speak, but there was no one. I will write it here, but maybe by the time moderation publishes this, I will no longer live a normal life, I feel like my mind is losing.

Just a few months ago, I received a phone call. Some man said that I supposedly won the quiz. The prize fund was - a ticket to the amusement park "SeaCountry". This is a park that has been around for a long time. When I was small, I always went there with and without my parents. But something often scared me away from there, probably the incident that happened before my eyes. When a mechanical "mascot" in the form of a dinosaur "Barney" chewed the hand of a little girl in its mechanisms. I just saw how the ambulance took her away, and all around these screams, blood and crying left an imprint on my whole life. I thought: "Is a grown man going to a children's amusement park alone?" Then the idea came to me to take with me my nephew, who was no less than 9 years old. We agreed with him and his parents on Friday. The night before Friday was terrible, I kept remembering that moment and it seemed to me that it was not just a coincidence. I was tormented by thoughts about that girl, how is she now? In the morning I got up and got ready to go. On the subway, my nephew and I drove to my cousin, he took us to the park. We showed the tickets and went through. Those terrible moments flashed through my head again, but I decided to relax and rest. When we walked in, I was really surprised. Nearly all rides had "CLOSED" or "NO WORKING" signs. There were also few people. Mostly they were mothers with children. Leaves crunched underfoot, the weather was nasty and rainy. I went to my favorite attraction, it looked like a big swing. And she swayed for a very long time, while the feeling was unforgettable. And I especially liked the mechanical clown who greeted everyone who passed by. But my eyes fell on his painted smile, peeling paint flew off from the wind. And then I noticed that under the smile there was an emotion of sadness, i.e. it was made, apparently, not for this. It must have been bought at some cheap wholesale sale. I looked away and watched my nephew ride the ride. Riding on the rides, I did not notice how time passed. We went to the exit, when we approached I hesitated a little when I saw the closed gate. Then I saw a guard walking off into the distance.
- Wait! You shut us down!
To my surprise, the guard replied:
- Sorry! It is forbidden to open the park after 20:00!
I was terrified, stood dumbfounded, and thought that you can find a loophole somewhere in the fences. My nephew and I walked through the park. After 19 minutes, we did not find any passages and holes in the fences. I decided to throw him over the fence, and stay here myself. The most surprising thing was that there were no night watchmen here, it was the ominous park that guarded it. Something you will learn about later. Having transferred my brother, I went to look for a place to sleep. After a little thought, I decided to walk through the park, to remember my childhood. After all, I spent it here, with friends and parents. Passing by that clown that I liked so much, I noticed that his gaze was directed in my direction, I caught his gaze on me. I stopped. Freeze for a few seconds. Then he went on, picking up speed. Walking down the street, I wandered into the main building, where the costume storage, tools were located. There was also a dining room in the main building. When I got inside, I was a little surprised. Batteries, glasses, bottles and pieces of the concrete ceiling lay around. I turned on the flashlight on my phone and headed towards the warehouse. Entering the main room, I saw spray-painted on the wall: "PARK IS NOT WONDERLAND." I lowered my eyes and saw a dead dog. She was missing her insides and eyes. Apparently, she was killed a week ago, it was clearly noticeable by the smell.
Looking around, I also noticed the shelves on which lay some costumes. Then I heard footsteps. I jumped behind the box and looked towards the exit. The same clown came into the room, he examined all the things, later his gaze fell on me. I sat in horror, not knowing what to do. After that, he said in a thin, raspy voice: "HAPPY WELCOME TO THE AMUSION PARK" SEACOUNTRY ". I screamed at the top of my lungs and flew out of the window of the second floor. this damn fence, I draped through the forest.I looked around, this clown was standing in the window and with his fake smile was looking after me.

Since then I have been speechless. I only write. I write books, draw cartoons and stay at home. Sometimes I remember this terrible park. But I never told anyone about it, because this terrible park took away my opportunity to tell ...

The amusement park Linnanmäki is considered the main entertainment center in Finland. Here are the best rides in the world. Tickets can be purchased both online and at the park's box office. Remember that buying online will be more profitable. In summer, a tourist will pay about 40 euros, and in autumn about 35. If you decide to ride the rides in the evening, then the payment will be lower, about 30 euros. The bracelet allows you to ride all the carousels, if the person is of the right age, and if you want to ride only one attraction, you can buy a ticket for 1 ride, the cost of which is 8 euros.

Awesome review

From the Ferris wheel in Helsinki, you can see the entire capital at a glance. The height of this wheel is 35 meters, but this is far from the limit. If you sit in the glass capsule of the observation tower called Panorama, the wheel understands vacationers to a height of more than 55 meters. At the peak of height, he feels himself the ruler of the world and it seems that he can reach the sun with his hand.

On a note! Entrance to this tower is absolutely free. Moreover, experienced guides work there. You can listen to the narrator, both in Finnish and in English, and in Russian.

Unforgettable experience

Linnanmäki is an amusement park that has been popular for many years, but there are many places for entertainment nearby. One cannot fail to mention the Sea Life Suomi Aquarium, which is located next to the entertainment center. This is the largest aquarium in Finland and its inhabitants are the rarest species of mammals. There is a zebra shark that likes to take part in photo shoots and an ancient stingray, the oldest inhabitant of the aquarium.

After entertainment on modern carousels, you can visit the exhibition or have a bite to eat in a cozy cafe. Feel like an archaeologist and take part in the excavation of the remains of dinosaurs. Experienced guides will tell you about the history of the capital of Finland and the emergence of theme parks and places of entertainment.

On a note! Be sure to purchase souvenirs that will later remind you of your trip to Finland. Riding on the best attractions of the northern country cannot be compared with any other place. Many say that even the northern lights of Lapland can be seen from the Panorama Tower.

Restaurants and hotels

Linnanmäki Amusement Park in Helsinki has 5 chic restaurants and countless eating places. There you can find not only traditional Finnish cuisine. There are cafes of Asian and European cuisine, and for lovers of extravagant cocktails, bartenders will always offer new drink recipes.

It is worth paying attention to the complex of restaurants Kattila.

  • Kuula Meatball Bar.
  • Mediterranean cuisine Coccola.
  • American restaurant Midhill.
  • Finnish pub Ilona.
  • Japanese sushi bar Sushibar.
  • European buffet Caruzello.

After a pleasant pastime in a restaurant or cafe, you should think about renting a room. The nearby territory of the amusement park is flooded with comfortable hotels and holiday homes.
