Further, their paths diverge: the green one goes to the Howard Beach stop, and the red one to Jamaica Station. You can get to Manhattan from both of these stations, choose which route is more convenient for you. If you want to get to downtown Manhattan at Times Square, then Jamaica Station is the best option.
Note! You board express Air Train without purchasing any tickets! Because moving between terminals (yellow line) is free. But you do not move between terminals! Therefore, after arriving at Howard Beach or Jamaica Station, you need to buy a metro card. The balance of such a card must be at least 7.5 USD. 5 bucks will be charged from you for the Air Train, and 2.5 dollars will go to the subway. Study the fares of the New York subway in advance, this will greatly facilitate your life.
