Ascent by ai petri car. On foot on Ai-Petri

The southern coast of Crimea is the most popular place among vacationers and tourists. They are attracted by the pearl of the Crimea - Yalta, which can be seen from a bird's eye view if you climb the hill. To realize your desire, you should find out how to get to Ai-Petri from Yalta and use its observation deck.

Location of Ai-Petri

You can climb the flat surface of the mountain top, the height of which reaches 1 234 meters:

  • By funicular;
  • By minibus;
  • By car;
  • On foot.

You can get to Ai-Petri by shuttle bus to the village of Miskhor. From the Yalta bus station, a regular bus covers the distance within half an hour. If you decide to get there by car, then you should go towards Simeiz. The reference point for the turn will be the sanatorium Uzbekistan, there is a pointer to Ai-Petri how to get there.

Climbing Ai-Petri

Exciting sensations in a person are caused by the movement of the funicular to the top of Ai-Petri. The cable car with the longest span without supports in Europe, for the convenience of tourists, the waiting stations are equipped with TVs, stands with the necessary information. From its top, a view of such sights of the neighborhood as:

  • Bird home;
  • Mount Diva;
  • Mountain Cat;
  • Vorontsov Palace.

From the top of the mountain, a road is clearly visible, along which you can see - how to get to Ai-Petri... ends at 18-00, after this time tickets are not sold. The movement of the cable car to the top takes no more than five minutes. Many people prefer to lift with a car.

Conquering Ai-Petri by car is quite exciting. The route to Bakhchisarai passes through a coniferous forest, the duration of the route will take about 40 minutes. Only experienced drivers make the ascent by car on Ai-Petri, but the bravest ones overcome the distance and conquer the summit on foot.

Hiking trails

There are several hiking trails that are used for hiking:

  • Botkin;
  • Taraktash;
  • Koreizskaya.

The most convenient trail is the Koreiz trail, it will lead you to the plateau.

It should be noted that at its top the temperature is seven degrees lower than at the foot, it is also very windy, so you need to stock up on warm clothes.

The flat top allows to accommodate trade stalls with souvenirs and products of their sheep skins, establishments with Tatar cuisine, Crimean wine is sold.

A special condition becomes from the mountain air, coniferous forests, from the view of the sea merging with the sky. Mountain peaks that remain below and surround Ai-Petri.

Neighborhood Ai-Peri

Returning from the top, you can visit one of the warmest places in Crimea - Miskhor, which has an amazing park. The park zone stretches along the coast, it contains more than three hundred species of plants from different countries. A fountain attracts tourists, as well as a sculpture in the sea of a girl - a little mermaid.

On the territory of Miskhor there is the Yusupov Palace, around it there is a park that attracts attention no less than the building of the palace. You can return to Yalta by regular bus, they move at intervals of one hour.

To the Yalta embankment from Miskhor, boat traffic is organized. The boat trip will enchant you with the beauty of the changing landscapes; from the sea side you can see mountains buried in greenery and clouds. If you're lucky, you might be surprised when the boat is escorted by dolphins.

Traditionally, you can also use the taxi service. No matter how difficult the road to Ai-Petri is, this trip will leave an unforgettable impression, a positive attitude for a long time. Anyone who has become acquainted with Crimea will always return to it.

One of the fascinating tourist routes in the mountainous Crimea consists of an ascent to the Ai-Petrinskoe plateau and Mount Ai-Petri along the Koreiz trail, the passage along the yayla and descent to Yalta along the Taraktash trail.

It is difficult to find a faster and more affordable way to get to the Ai-Petrinskoye plateau in general, and Mount Ai-Petri in particular, than the Koreiz trail. In Crimea, this is rarely seen when the ascent to the top begins right from the Yalta-Sevastopol highway. The Koreiz trail is widely known among hikers and is marked on all more or less detailed maps of the southern coast of Crimea.

Route scheme:

It is not difficult to find the beginning of the route. At the place where the highway and the road that rises from Alupka intersect, there is a public transport stop, which is popularly called Samota... As a reference point, you can use the pointer "72 - Sevastopol, Yalta - 9".

Koreiz trail: route map at the beginning of the trail

Before you climb, look at the perspective that opens up in front of you. There are two main landmarks - Ai-Petri itself (if you do not know what it looks like, look for the cable car station at the top of the ridge - it is clearly visible from the track) and the triangle of the Small Ai-Petri rock (Crow Rock). Both points have to be passed.

So, let's start the ascent. The road going up and slightly to the left is exactly what we need.

The climb is small, the trail passes through a rare pine forest and a number of small unfinished houses.

It must be said that the Koreiz trail is well marked, there are painted signs on the stones along the road. Therefore, at first it is worth being careful, choosing the marked trails and preferably keeping to the right direction. In addition to the main paths, the forest is dotted with abbreviations or, as they are called here - "Socrates". Almost all of them will lead to the goal, but it is still better to use the markings for the first time, holding the Maly Ai-Petri rock as a landmark, if, of course, visibility allows.

The next notable point on our way along the Koreiz trail will be a gazebo where you can relax and have a snack. After all, the second, most difficult part of the path lies ahead.

As is often the case on mountain routes, there are two options for the path: hard, but fast, or easier, but longer. Choosing the first option, you will storm the ascent head-on, straight from the gazebo, rushing up and slightly to the left. The steepness of the ascent will not allow you to linger on the path for a long time, the stones under the sole slip treacherously. On this trail you will see bridges, which are installed here by fans of mountain biking - downhill skiing from the mountain. Bridges, by the way, are a good landmark.

By the way, along the entire length of the upper half of the route, be careful, because extreme people rush down at a breakneck speed, risking not only their own, but also your health.

If you prefer an easier route, then take the right from the gazebo and along a wide arc you will end up in the same place where the difficult path leads - to the Crow Rock or Maly Ai-Petri, from which stunning views open.

Having amused ourselves with photographing and having rested, we will begin the third stage of the ascent. Medium weight, it will thank you with wonderful views of the Yalta mountain amphitheater and a panorama of the coast.

I must say that a dense pine forest will brighten up most of the way along the Koreiz trail, it will be easy to breathe, a beginner will not have time to turn his head from side to side. The higher, the thicker the pines, some of them cannot be covered by two adults at the same time.

The top of Ai-Petri is already close. The forest is thinning, the ground becomes stony, at the very top the surface of the mountain looks like a yayla, which you will soon get to. Stones - of different sizes - seem to be everywhere. There is also a space for amateur photographers.

Well, that's the top. The last effort - and you are on Ai-Petri. If you plan to go back the same way, remember the place where you left, then it will not be easy to find the way back. Take the plane pine as a guide, which, due to its unusual shape, is covered with tourists like flies.

Pine plane at the exit from the Koreiz trail
to the top of Ai-Petri

The entire ascent, depending on the degree of preparedness, will take 2.5 - 3.5 hours.

If you have not been tempted by the barkers of a huge number of eateries, and you are determined to continue your journey, then you should turn right from the bazaar. Check the availability of water, if necessary - purchase.

A completely convenient road through a beautiful open area will lead you to the village of Okhotnichye.

On the way to it, you will pass antennas and an unfinished wind farm.

In the village itself, be sure to visit the observation deck - the whole of Yalta will be at a glance.

Do not miss the lonely standing benchmark, which was placed here in the pre-revolutionary era (1913), on which there is a plate with information about the altitude, longitude and latitude of this geographical point.

Hunting - the last point until the very descent, where you can still buy something from the provisions. In the village you will not miss the road, following which you will reach the right turn to the ai-petrinskoe forestry.

Another landmark will be several pieces of construction equipment abandoned in the open air many years ago.

Yayla ends, the forest begins, the road through which will lead you to a clearing at the edge of the mountains, where you will find a map of the routes passing in these parts.

However, all the difficulties of the path will be forgotten when you see this miracle of nature with your own eyes, from a distance of ten meters. The work of the wind, which lasted for millennia, turned the faceless mountains into a grandiose and beautiful monument to the forces of nature. Take a closer look, the rock of the Taraktash stone is layered like a pie, you can take out fragile plates directly from the rocks with your hands. Heaps of broken thin stone underfoot. The Taraktash trail passes through a shady gorge, where the camera works tirelessly, and the memory tries to capture all this splendor. From the numerous "vents" and breaks you can admire the panorama of Yalta and the Yalta mountain-forest nature reserve.

But now a small gorge ends and you will have a long descent down the Taraktash trail. It will not be fast and easy, you will have to constantly change direction, winding along the serpentine and stepping over the fallen trees. But the breathtaking scenery of the mountains covered with pine forest will not let you lose heart.

After an hour and a half of descent, a flat road will finally appear and you will again make your choice: go back a little and visit the Uchan-Su waterfall, or hold your own, passing which you can once again enjoy the view of the Yalta mountains. Here is the track, you are leaving home with unforgettable impressions of the traversed route, and the fatigue from the hike will quickly pass.

It remains to add that for an unprepared tourist, the entire route with halts and photo sessions will take about 9 hours.

As I wrote earlier, it was discussed in the last article, and today we go to the sights of this chic resort. After several gloomy days on our trip to Crimea, the first sunny morning. And we will spend this wonderful day at the same wonderful place - Mount Ai-Petri.

How to get to Mount Ai-Petri in Crimea

After a quick breakfast and packing our things in a backpack, we went to the bus station in order to leave by public transport to Ai-Petri.

Bus

WITH Yalta bus station there is a bus under № 102 (he first passes by, then stops at the cable car on Ai-Petri, and the final stop at his place, everything that is needed in one set). Flights daily from 06:45 to 21:45, interval 35-60 minutes 38 rub / person.

WITH bus station "Clothes market"(not far from the Yalta Embankment) there is a bus under № 132 ... Flights daily from 07:00 to 21:00, interval 20-30 minutes, fare Yalta-Ai-Petri (lower station of the cable car) 34 rub / person.

It is very difficult to get to the desired stop. On the bus, the main share of passengers is occupied by visitors, who ask each other almost every 5 minutes if they are leaving soon.

Taxi

Taxi Yalta-Mount Ai-Petri (upper station of the cable car) will cost from 1200 rub / car one way.

Personal or rented car

The easiest way to get there is by car, besides, on the way you can see the Swallow's Nest and the Vorontsov Palace, without adjusting to the public transport schedule. If you have a license, but do not have a car, it is easy through the Internet and you can get it in Yalta upon arrival. Directions map below. The serpentine on the Ai-Petri plateau passes through the Okhotnichye settlement. In addition, the accompanying attractions, which are described in many excursions in the form of the Uchan-Su waterfall and the Silver Gazebo, can only be seen if you drive along the serpentine by car. It will be about 10 km to walk from the upper station to them, and you also need to get to the village where the buses go.

You can also negotiate with the locals about a car from Miskhor ( 1000 rub).

Koreiz (Miskhor) trail

If the cable car is closed, and you do not have the desire / opportunity to rent a car, then you can climb to the Ai-Petri plateau on foot along the Koreiz trail.

From Yalta at the bus station we take buses: 107, 128, 142 and get off at the bus stop Koreiz ( the fare is approximately 35 rubles).

By the way: bus number 107 after Koreiz turns towards the lower station of the cable car. You can get off at the next stop after Koreiz - "Burevestnik sanatorium" and walk another 200-300 meters to the cable car.

The Koreiz trail begins immediately after the Koreiz stop, at first it goes more gently, closer to the plateau there will be a good slope.

  • You will have to overcome about 4 km.
  • Wearing comfortable non-slip closed-toe shoes
  • In a backpack with you - water!
  • For the correct reference point in the smartphone - the MapsMe map.

Excursions to Ai-Petri

Group excursions from Alushta:- up to 40 people, 6 hours

Individual excursions from Yalta:- up to 3 people, 9 hours

Cable car to Mount Ai-Petri

We did not have time to dismount from the bus, when a young Caucasian ran up to us and began to eloquently tell how you can get to the top of Ai-Petri, and what else you can see on the way back if you do not go down the cable car. To get more information, I made a very interested face, knowing full well that the young man is not crucifying in front of me for the sake of beautiful eyes. The site was almost completely empty when I realized that there was nothing more interesting to get out of the boy. We said goodbye to him and went to a small building with ticket offices on the cable car right there.

The cost and operating time of the cable car on Ai-Petri (2019):

Working hours cable car: from 10 to 17- rise, and from 10 to 18- descent.

Price:

  • 400 rubles / adult, 250 rubles / child one way.
  • the passage to the teeth from the upper station of the cable car is separate 100 rbl.
  • attractions at the prongs: walk along the suspension bridges over the abyss ( RUB 500), trolls from the top to one of the slopes on the plateau ( 700 m., On the way 1 min, cost 1000 rubles).

Tips:

  • take warm clothes and a raincoat with you regardless of the weather, mountains are mountains
  • it is better to wear comfortable non-slip shoes with closed toes on your feet. Even if you are not going to walk the forest paths, there are also stones and roots on the plateau, and after the rain it is also slippery
  • at the top station of the cable car there are a lot of cafes and shops, you don't have to carry food and water with you, but the prices are tourist, you understand
  • in winter, the cable car is closed, you can drive along the serpentine by car or negotiate with the local ( 1000 rub / car)

It is impossible to slip through here without a ticket, because somewhere in the middle of the route of the yellow booth, passengers are transplanted, and at the same time the purchased tickets are checked. It's the same on the way back. In principle, whoever has a car can certainly climb the mountain for free on the road. However, I do not guarantee that now there has not been stuck some kind of barrier with a duty.

We drove the first half calmly, only about a couple of tens of meters above the ground. Moreover, I was pushed into the very center of the crowd so that even through the windows something was hardly observed. But it gave me a chance to almost be the first to climb into the second booth when transferring and take advantageous positions at the window in front.

The second part is more exciting with beautiful views of the sea and the cliff in front. During the trip, I heard intriguing stories that the cable car was made in such a way that in front of the top the cabin rises almost vertically for several meters and hangs at the very edge for a couple of seconds.

I was waiting for this moment with great excitement. I will say that what I heard is partly true. The booth at the end of the path really goes at a very steep angle, rising high above the surface of the earth, but in front of the top it does not hang, but simply tugs at it a little, which is why it no longer takes your breath away, but becomes somehow uncomfortable.

Mount Ai-Petri

The views are amazing upstairs. At this height, they cannot be different. The wind is only strong here.

There are also plenty of shops upstairs, you want barbecue, you want Uzbek cuisine, you want sweets, trinkets and so on. While walking from one observation deck to another, you only have time to dismiss the obsessive offers.

Slightly to the left there is another observation deck, previously enclosed by a fence, in which there was now a gaping hole made by tourists. It seems useless to close up the hole, because tourists are still “breaking” to the edge.

Here it is really uncomfortable from the realization that there are no safety rails, but beyond the edge there is a sharp cliff of several tens of meters.

I don’t know ... I didn’t check it.

Where we left is not the very peak yet. You still need to walk 700 meters to the very top to the battlements. Passes along a rocky slope, slippery and muddy after rain. Separate entrance and fee - as much as 100 rubles. In fact, all the same (according to local traders) can be seen if you walk a little to the left of the pay-per-pass booth. But curiosity is such an unrelenting thing, I gave these 100 rubles. and went higher. My travel companion was stuck at the checkout, as there were already enough dizzying views from him.

On that day, after the rains, so that the tourists would not break their necks and legs, we shifted a little the way through the forest along drier paths to the top.

Having got out into the open space, I first looked around to see if it was possible to bypass this ticket office at all (sorry, it's a hitchhiking habit). Below in the photo, if you look to the right, there is a wide road to the left from the parking lot with cars. I think if you walk about 300 meters along it, and then turn into the forest to the place where I was now standing, then you can get here for free. Whoever wants to can try it out on personal experience. But be careful, the locals say that there are karst wells in the form of inconspicuous holes.

The first attraction is already visible from below: suspension bridges going from the main rock to a small peak with a cross. For those for whom adrenaline is not enough at the top, you can walk in equipment under the guidance of an instructor, there and back meters 90 total.

In the photo it looks harmless, but up close it is quite dizzy.

I climbed to the very top and sadly found there another bounding railing and some kind of iron stump, all hung with ribbons.

I was not going to climb over the fence, so I just walked to the place where it ended. There were also plenty of breathtaking views here.

By that time, an excursion group had pulled up to me. The guide publicly announced that since he understands the curiosity of tourists trying to climb over the fence, in order to maintain safety and their work. It will still allow everyone to take pictures almost at the very top. But only on his terms.

Having heard this, I decided to join the group, it was impossible to miss such an opportunity. We stopped right in the place where the iron piece was sticking out. Here the guide climbed over the fence and allowed only two of the group to go with him to take a photo. Naturally, I squeezed into one of the following pairs. Here's the proof.

And while all this was happening, someone from the crowd asked about the very iron contraption on which the guide was leaning at that moment. He said that this is another attraction. From this iron pillar down (naturally in the opposite direction from the cliff) there are trolls, along which in just 1 minute you can “lower” everyone who wants to.

I received my portion of photographs and headed back.

The day was in full swing and I still wanted to have time to see the Vorontsov Palace. Therefore, we cut off the idea of walking down the forest paths.

Those interested can go down faster trails directly from the plateau to Miskhor, for example (see MapsMe maps). But there, apart from sources and species, there is nothing special. We did not waste time and returned the same way - on the cable car.

As I said above, the Vorontsov Palace is the terminal 102 of the bus. Therefore, having left to the stop at the cable car, and, having waited for the desired bus, we went to, which I will tell you about next time. Good weather on Ai-Petri!

One of the most frequently visited places in Crimea is the highest in these parts Mount Ai Petri... In this article I will tell you how to visit this wonderful place on your own and give you some important tips.

How to get to Ai Petri?

You can get to this attraction both by public transport and by car.
Alushta became my place of residence for a short vacation. How to get there from Alushta to Ai Petri on its own without a car and not by taxi I will tell you in more detail.

Almost all of my travels began from the Alushta bus station.

Council number 1. Find out where the nearest bus station is, no matter where you are in Crimea. In the building of the bus station, you can see information stands with bus timetables.
If you are staying in a small village, then ask what trolleybuses and buses go through it, and what is the name of the stop.

In order to quickly find the time and place of departure of the nearest buses to this or that corner of Crimea, you can use the services of Google and Yandex. You can rely on these services, but not always. Not all routes take tourists directly to certain attractions, so do not be afraid to check with local residents.

The first step is to get to Yalta This can be done both by trolleybuses # 52 and # 53, and by different buses. Bus tickets are purchased at the ticket offices of the bus station.

Price the bus is slightly higher than the trolleybus, but does not exceed 50 rubles.

As for my trip, most often I got to Yalta by trolleybus # 52. This trolleybus runs straight from the bus station relatively frequently. The trolleybus fare is paid at the entrance to the driver.

Buses # 102 and # 107 run from the Yalta bus station to the Vorontsov Palace (another Crimean attraction). The beauty of the route of these buses is that you cover three sights: at the beginning you pass the Swallow's Nest, then cable car to Mount Ai Petri, further to the Vorontsov Palace.

Just do not think that at once you can visit them all in full. You can, of course, try, but it will be all jogging, and you will not enjoy the beautiful scenic views of these places.

When you board the bus, ask the driver or someone who knows the route well to tell you when the cable car will be.

Cable car to Mount Ai Petri

You will be offered to get to the place by taxi or even to conduct an excursion, starting from the bus station of Alushta right up to the mountain itself. Whether to agree or not is up to you. In my case, I took the cable car up and down. You can go up, for example, by taxi, and go down by cable car or vice versa.

Opening hours of the cable car: from 10.00 to 17.00 - rise, and from 10.00 to 18.00 - descent.
Ticket price for September 2016 - 350 rubles one way. Tickets are checked midway.

If you drive your car, I don't know if the fare will be paid. Unfortunately, there was no way to find out.

Then you will get up in a slightly swaying booth filled with curious tourists who take pictures of the views.
Almost before the very exit to the mountain, the cabin slows down and begins to rise vertically, thus creating the feeling that you will crash into the mountain.

Ai Petri mountain overview

No sooner had you left the cabin (funicular) than a wonderful view of the Crimean coast opens up! You can explore the surroundings with the help of binoculars (but this, again, for money).

There are always excursions to the mountain, so you can join one of the groups between times and listen to the stories of this place for free.

The advantage of traveling on your own is that you can fully enjoy the view and take more good photos.

Also at the top of Mount Ai Petri there are many different trade shops where you can buy various goods and souvenirs.

For those who get hungry, there is always a place to grab a bite to eat. Prices vary, so you can find a suitable option and enjoy the local food.
Before eating, I suggest walking to the highest point of the mountain and getting the full range of sensations.

To get to the very top Ai Petri, You will have to pay another 100 rubles. I spared no expense and went on to conquer the summit further. Ahead of you will not be the easiest climb, so put on the right shoes in advance.

Enjoy the views of the mountainous surroundings.

Climbing the forest paths to the next observation deck, at the very edge of the cliff (behind the railing), you will find excellent places for a photo shoot. For those who are dizzy and their knees tremble from fear, I do not recommend climbing over the railing, so as not to risk it again, because one mistake can cost life.

Nothing stopped me and I took some pictures.

For selfie lovers, this is a great opportunity to take a couple of breathtaking pictures, but BE CAREFUL if you decide !!!

Don't risk your life if it rained on the eve. You can slip and break.
When you reach the very top, you will see hanging bridges, secured by many cables, which were visible even when leaving the funicular.

They go from the main mountain (rock) to a small peak, on which the Cross is erected in honor of the fallen climbers who conquered the mountain.

For thrill seekers and adrenaline seekers, I recommend walking along these bridges swaying in the wind.
Price for this pleasure 500 rubles.
You will be given equipment, instructed, and you can start moving. Be careful if there is a strong wind!
It was not enough for me, and I decided to go through. After taking a couple of steps and being over the abyss, adrenaline began to slowly make itself felt.

Walking a little further, the feeling of fear left me, and stopping in the middle of the bridge, I decided to take some photos. It didn't take long to admire the mesmerizing view of the mountains, as there are a lot of tourists who want to walk along these bridges. From the peak of the cliff, I followed back to the highest point Ai Petri, 1234 meters above sea level with the Russian flag.
I was in no hurry to go back to the cable car, as you can endlessly take pictures here.

Back to Alushta, I got there in the same way as, and arrived.

This was the end of my journey. In the next article I will talk about my journey to.

Total costs:
The way to the road from Alushta (trolleybus + bus) is about 200 rubles round trip.
Ascent and descent by cable car 700 rubles, 350 one way.
Passage to the highest point - 100 rubles.
Adrenaline bridges - 500 rubles
Only 1500 rubles. (September 2016)

Travel time
5 hours from Alushta to Ai Petri and back (2.5 hours - one way). If you are traveling from Yalta, then subtract one hour for the road from Alushta to Yalta and, accordingly, an hour back.

Tips:
Check out the weather forecast (if it is cloudy, you will not see anything)
Take warm clothes (it is windy and cool upstairs even in hot weather)
Don't risk taking photos if it rained the day before
Wear sneakers or other comfortable shoes that won't slip

Happy travels !!!
