Blue waterfall. Good afternoon to flower lovers, gardeners and all those who are reading me now! blue waterfalls with

This miracle of nature is still little known to most tourists and not only to them. Many people specially come to these places to study nature and have not been there either. Waterfalls can be found near the railway station of the Krivenkovskaya railway station, this is in the southern outskirts of the village of Turkey in the Tuapse district.

Brook Pure

The Chisty Stream is one of the tributaries of the Chelipsi River, connecting to it on the right. In its upper part, the stream can attract little attention: it narrows in gorges, flows along ravines and gullies. You can't really see the path, he jumps from one bank to the other. The beauty of the stream is revealed further, these are the waterfalls, natural shale baths filled with clear water. Then the path becomes more difficult. The first waterfall on the way is eight meters high, below round lake, further along the route of the second of the waterfalls, it is lower, 3.5 m. but that's not all, the main dish is the third, 18m high, picturesque big waterfall with a stormy stream. Of the rocks that form the rock here - marl and blue clay, they lie, one might say, perpendicular to the ground. The flora around is lush and rich. Mighty oaks, alder trees, hazels grow in the upper tiers, and walnuts are found. The rocks are overgrown with moss and lichen.
Perhaps the name "Blue" waterfalls could get through the fault of the clay visible from the surface. It gives a special color.

How to get there

If you move from the highway to the stream, it's about a kilometer or more. In total, the round trip is 16 km, more than 5 hours in time.
You can walk from the highway along a gravel road leading along the riverbed. Go to the monument to the heroes of the war, standing there. After it, the road is worse, large trucks often carry wood along it, leaving holes. Nearby you can meet a watchman. Local residents in the village will willingly suggest the route to tourists who come there for the first time. Blue waterfalls are a unique gift of nature.

The mighty Nile, the main waterway of the African continent, is fed by many large tributaries - among them is the Blue Nile, which irrigates the lands of Ethiopia for 800 km. It originates in Lake Tana and, 30 km downstream, forms majestic cascades - the Blue Nile waterfalls, also known as Tis-Ysat or Tis-Abbay after the name of the nearest village. This is the largest waterfall in Ethiopia and the second largest in Africa after the Zambian Victoria.

At different times, many famous personalities visited the natural attraction, including the traveler James Bruce and Queen Elizabeth II.

What to see

A winding path leads to the Blue Nile Falls, passing through small gorges and making its way through the Ethiopian jungle. The ascent will take about 30 minutes with a local guide - it is easy to get lost here alone, because there are no signs for tourists. The Blue Nile can be heard from afar: the cascades have not yet appeared to the eye, and the noise of the rushing water already indicates the power of the water flow. The height of the waterfalls reaches 45 m, and the width - up to 400 m, depending on the season; during periods of drought, the flow weakens and the walls of the gorge are exposed.

In the 60s. of the last century, the authorities built two hydroelectric power plants upstream of the river, and the waterfalls became much shallower - but even now they look truly impressive.

The cascades of the Blue Nile, despite the catchy name, are not blue at all, but rather yellow-brown - this color is typical for the entire Nile basin, but the stream falling from a great height seems snow-white. Tis-Issat translated from Amharic ( state language Ethiopian) means "smoking water": indeed, a cloud of spray rising from turbulent waters creates the illusion of a smoke screen. Due to the bright sun, rainbows often appear here.

Not far from the falls is an ancient stone bridge built by Portuguese adventurers in 1626.

The jungle around the gorge is full of colorful birds and enterprising monkeys, and myriads of insects buzz in the air. The waterfalls are relatively calm - local kids and souvenir vendors prefer to wait for tourists closer to the village. Some brave travelers even camp overnight in the vicinity of a turbulent stream, but due to the agile local fauna, this is best not done without the support of local guides.

Blue Waterfalls. Turkey: location

Coordinates of the Blue Falls: a few kilometers from the railway station Krivenkovskaya, closer to the south side of the village of Turkey. The path along the flowing Chisty stream, the right tributary of the Chelipsi River, will lead along ravines and gullies, narrowing gorges, cleverly winding and sometimes disappearing, appearing unexpectedly on the other side. Natural natural beauty The local landscape with picturesque waterfalls of gently falling murmuring water into eroded baths formed by shale is distinguished by a peaceful aura.

Blue Waterfalls. Turkey route

The path leading to an eight-meter waterfall falling into a round lake resting below, begins to become more complicated. Next is a smaller waterfall, 3.5 meters high. And now, what they came to admire is a majestic falling stream of water from an 18-meter height, flowing down from a cliff. This is the Blue Falls. The name is not accidental ... The adjacent rocks consist of clay-marl layers, which lie almost perpendicular to the foot of the earth. It is here that layers of blue clay come to the surface of the earth, coloring the water with a special color. Students of the Faculty of Geography, who visited here, measured the largest width of the jet, which is 2.5 meters, and in the middle part of the waterfall - 1.5 meters.

Surrounding southern vegetation clambers along the rocks to the upper tiers of various types of lichens that have taken root here and grow, mosses and centipede leaves to towering sessile oaks, alders and walnuts.

Following from the station Krivenkovskaya, the average length of the path will be 15-16 km. , and takes a total time of 6 hours. Those who have been here are advised to go from the farm. From the highway to the waterfall, the hike will take 1.5 hours. good road from gravel will lead to the monument of the Great Patriotic War, and then off-road begins.

From the beginning it is relative - the road is broken by trucks carrying timber, and then along the portages, along the riverbed, moving through the rubble. For the first time, those who pass the route can best ask around from the locals, who will be happy to tell you.

There is very little time left before the onset of spring and soon I will start choosing seeds for planting seedlings of my favorite flower - petunias. And now I want to talk about a beautiful large-flowered cascade terry hybrid that I grew last summer - this petunia "Blue Waterfall" from the agricultural company AELITA.

Seeds AELITA Petunia "Blue Waterfall"

Petunia is one of the most beautiful plants for decorating a personal plot, balconies and loggias. I am attracted in this flower by a variety of shades and varieties, the duration of flowering, the possibility of placing in flowerpots, planters, containers.

Petunia "Blue Waterfall" in the garden

"Blue Falls" F1 refers to large-flowered petunias, its flowers reach 12 cm in diameter, terry, not demanding to care, not high - it reaches about 40 cm. At the beginning of growth, the shoots grow upwards, then, under the weight of flowers, fall to the sides (cascading). The stem is strong and elastic. For the design of flower beds, balconies and loggias, it is difficult to find a more beautiful and unpretentious flower. Photo "Blue Falls" F1 on my balcony

Petunia "Blue Waterfall" on my balcony

I bought a petunia at a price of 76 rubles, I consider the price too high for such a quantity of seeds (10 pieces). The seeds were in a shell, were in a small flask.

The granules are placed on the surface of the soil, without covering them, they are well moistened from the sprayer. When moisture gets on the granule, the shell should dissolve. Crops are covered with glass to maintain constant humidity until full germination.

I grow petunias to decorate my balcony and garden. seeds petunias "Blue Waterfall" from the agricultural company AELITA sowed in mid-March in peat tablets (germination rate when planted in them 100%), they all sprouted. The number of seeds, as is usually the case with hybrids, is ten pieces. But that's enough for me. When my petunias grew a little, I transplanted them into large plastic cups, one thing in each glass. At the beginning of summer, I also planted petunia one by one in one large pot, and three in containers. Some of the plants remained on the balcony, some were taken to their garden plot.

Petunia, unlike other flowers, has a great advantage: starting to bloom in May, it blooms until late autumn, forming more and more buds. In my garden plot, the flowering period lasted until October, on the glazed balcony even longer - until November (while it was snowing outside). Photo "Blue Falls" in the country:

The shade, as you can see, differs from that indicated on the package of seeds: my petunia is specifically blue, and in the photo AELITS she is purple. But I do not consider this a disadvantage, since my plants have grown luxurious, and their color does not matter. The shape of the flower is the same as shown in the picture.

This is how it describes petunia "Blue Falls" F1 seed producer:

Hybrid with huge double flowers 10-13 cm, carnation-shaped. With fast, vigorous growth - blossoms for 2-3 weeks earlier, than similar old grades and hybrids. The bush is more compact, with a genetically inherent tendency to good branching of shoots. The fabric of the petals is dense, the flowers do not lose their decorative effect in rainy weather. The hybrid is ideal for container growing, including ampelous. Grown through seedlings.

Buying petunia seeds from AELITS I was very satisfied. Flowers made me happy all summer long. I liked the compactness of the plant, the shape and color, unpretentiousness in care. The only negative is that the hybrid does not produce seeds, and every year you have to buy them.

Also, in this wonderful plant, I am amazed by the variety of colors and the many varieties and hybrids. Therefore, along with this hybrid, I also grew such petunias from AELITS, How "Taffeta F1" And "Crimson Caprice F1", which I will definitely write about in the next reviews.

About other petunias:

Blue waterfalls on Chisty Creek- little is known to a wide range of lovers of the study of the region. Located a few kilometers from the railway. Krivenkovskaya station, near the southern outskirts of the village of Indyuk Tuapse district. The Chisty Creek is the right tributary of the Chelipsi River. The upper part of the stream is characteristic of many neighboring valleys - a gorge-like narrowing, a developed network of ravines and gullies. The trail is not clearly readable, runs from shore to shore, small waterfalls appear with beautiful, water-eaten baths, formed by smoothed shale. It becomes more difficult to go further. The 1st waterfall is 8 meters high, a little lower is a rounded lake. The 2nd waterfall is small - 3.5 m high. And finally, the ultimate goal of the day is a majestic 18-meter waterfall, bringing down the flow of water down the clay-marl layer. The largest jet width during measurements with students of the Faculty of Geography of the Kuban State University was 2.5 m, the smallest (in the middle part of the waterfall) - 1.5 m. Rocks (blue clay, marl) lie almost perpendicular to the earth's surface. Rich vegetation. The upper tier of the forest is occupied by sessile oak, walnut, alder. Lots of hazel. Several types of mosses, lichens, and centipede leaf grass have taken root on the rocks.

The waterfalls are named local residents"Blue", apparently, for the exits to the surface of blue clays.

From the highway to the waterfalls 1.5 hours. From the railway station Krivenkovskaya (round trip) the way takes 15-16 km. This, together with a halt of 5-6 hours in time.

á Description from the book "Guide to the Kuban" by A. Samoylenko.

from admin. In July 2007 we decided to visit these waterfalls. From the highway, a good gravel road runs along the right (or.) Bank of the river to the monument to the Great Patriotic War. Further, the road deteriorates, timber trucks often carry timber along it, many times it passes from coast to coast. Soon, on a tree, to the right of the road, there is a sign "a place to rest" (apparently someone took it off the road). There is an apiary here (carefully - dogs and a not quite sober watchman with small things;) Further, the road leads to the change house of lumberjacks and soon climbs sharply onto the ridge (to the right along the way). We have to go along the freshly laid portage along the river. Soon the portage is lost, we just go along the riverbed, often we need to wade or go straight on the water. Lots of rubble.
