The pools are open to the public from 10.00 to 18.00, available from 01/05 to 31/10.

The hotel has a Russian staff: a Russian administrator and Russian animators as part of an international team.

We rested in this hotel from September 2 to September 16, 2019, room 2331. We arrived with a long delay, we were very tired, especially the child, so it was very important that we were quickly checked into a room. The friendly girl Anya answered all our stupid questions with a smile. Many thanks to our Russian hotel administrators Anya and Yulia that they were always ready to help, suggest something and just chat))) The hotel staff is friendly with rare exceptions (a couple of waiters in the restaurant and a fat bald bartender in the lobby bar, who sincerely hates Russians). As for tips, we sometimes gave 2-3 dinars in a restaurant to a waiter. They work there in zones, because the room is large, and since you sit at the same table out of habit, the waiter is the same. Well, who doesn't like money?))) Of course, something was changing. More often he approached, the drinks were already in other beautiful glasses, and so on little things. Two dinars were enough for 3 days, then again. Once given to the maid, but nothing has changed. The room was not on the sea - on the garden and the local municipality. Quiet and calm, everything in the room worked properly, cleaned every day. There are a lot of flies in Tunisia, and the maids use some kind of spray from them. For a long time we could not understand that our cough was precisely from him. They asked not to poison any more flies or us. A little about food. In the main restaurant you can find everyone to eat. There are also soups (they didn’t come to me, but my wife appreciated it), and grill, and vegetables, and pasta, and desserts ..., very tasty baguettes. I recommend them for breakfast in a toaster instead of toast bread, it is not very good. Separately, there is a children's meal in the adjacent room. The distribution is lower so that the kids can impose themselves. Between lunch and dinner, as well as at night, they cook pancakes with nutella and bambaloni (they are not tasty at the hotel, try them delicious on excursions in Sidi Bou Said). Overall, the food was pleasant. We had ULTRA - all inclusive, but in fact, how it differed from a simple all-inclusive is completely unclear. In my understanding, this means that everything is possible without restrictions, but it turned out that no. At the bar, most normal alcohol is chargeable. Despite this, everyone will find something to drink there. From non-alcoholic I recommend Tunisian tea and verveen. The bar offers snacks such as nuts, olives and cheese. Now about the bad. THE SEA IS A HELLSKVAR !!! Huge layers of sharp stones. People were injured, including me. There is a pantone. You can dive and swim from it. BUT! What nafig panton ?! The beach must be adequate. When I flew on a parasail, this relief looks wonderful, but you can see that there is sand everywhere, except on the hotel's beach. Now it is the 21st century, somewhere they build islands in the form of palm trees and a map of the world, and then really nothing can be done ?! Biggest disappointment! There is sand if you go behind the Coco beach restaurant. They swam there. Good again! ANIMATION - how much this word has merged for our hearts! We did not participate much in the entertainment during the day, because we spent all the time on the "beach", breathed the sea air and relaxed, so we did not really communicate with many of the Animation team, but in the evening my daughter (3.5 years old) took us to a gorgeous children's animation. Over time, adults began to dance with the kids. There was a man on the stage who said that this was his job, but every day he sincerely turned on children and adults, it was clear that he loved it and lived by it. DALI, thank you very much for your good mood, for your dedication, for the opportunity for adults to be a little children! There are two more people who made our stay spiritual. This is MOMO and BLACKY !!! Huge respect to them. You are best!!! In general, if you are an inexperienced tourist, you have a child, the beach is not particularly important to you (the sea itself, by the way, is cool), but the atmosphere and attitude are important, then you are in Khayyam Garden.

General impression

Based on reviews of the Novostar Khayam Garden Beach & Spa 4 * hotel, we can conclude that it deserves five stars. Of course, there are many disadvantages in it, but, compared with the many advantages, they are not so significant. The hotel is very nice and well maintained (both inside and outside), the staff is polite and competent, the atmosphere is light and relaxed.

If we talk about the advantages of a hotel, then, of course, animation should be put in the first place. The guys literally go out of their way so that vacationers do not have to be bored for a second. At the same time, entertainment is not imposed on anyone. It is also worth noting a lot of opportunities for children's recreation. The mini-club is significantly different from those that can be found in other hotels. Here kids are immersed in creativity and fun.

The hotel staff are very welcoming and helpful. The attempts of Tunisians to communicate with guests in your native language are especially touching. Nevertheless, if you have a serious problem, you can always contact the Russian-speaking administrator. Particular attention is paid to the safety of guests, and therefore a large brigade of guards and rescuers works here.

If we talk about the shortcomings of the hotel, then the main one is the quality of cleaning, or rather, problems with replacing bed linen. Probably, no hotel with such persistence will hang towels thrown on the floor back on the hook. However, this problem is quickly resolved by contacting the administrator. In addition, coming to your room in the evening after a busy and bright spa day, you most likely will not notice any flaws in the room.

The hotel is discreet, renovated, a solid four, I can say even with a plus. The territory is small, two swimming pools, one of them has 4 slides. Vacationers are French, Germans, Russians and a few Arabs. The territory is guarded, at the entrance of the checkpoint with a barrier and a guard, along the perimeter of the hotel territory, a high fence with broken glass on top, on the beach on both sides, guards detain all suspicious. There is no influx of local population on weekends, 4-6 families come with us, they were quite decent looking with children. There is no theft, the son forgot his smartphone on the couch near the reception desk and went to have supper. The fact that there was no phone, I remembered only 1.5 hours later. Let's go look, he was lying on the couch. I can’t say anything about beach towels, we didn’t take them. For a card, they had to go to a currency exchange office and a house where they could be exchanged, worked according to a not very convenient schedule. The staff is caring, attentive. Hotel guide Julia can solve all problems. On the 6th day of our stay, we needed a refrigerator, the one in the room did not work. We told her, after 20 minutes. they brought us a new one.
The animation is great, active and at the same time not intrusive. It can be seen that everyone is trying. If there are no activities, then the whole team walks around the territory and communicates with guests. They ask how are you, is everything good. It is clear that there is much more communication with the French, but it must be borne in mind that they speak the same language. Their English and Russian are rather weak. But the Russians, who had fun at the disco, communicated with them very emotionally with gestures and in broken English-Russian. In general, a very soulful atmosphere. I liked very much how happy birthday, besides the cake, the animators in full force, firecrackers, a banner, music and sincere congratulations are being congratulated. In addition, daytime shows are often held. We hit riders, cocktails and a whirling dervish. Very impressed! My son started getting ready for the mini disco in the afternoon. For children, you can order a T-shirt with a name and a picture of your choice.

Claims are not even about the staging of the frame, but the quality of the photo. Size 300-400 Kb, yellow, from this the water turns green, the sky is gray, and the tan is painful. We went with him to the Buvet Cabano beach, it is 5-7 minutes by car from the hotel. Very beautiful, no people, white sand, picturesque building and stones. If I handed him my smartphone, the photos would be much brighter. When he sent us the finished work, we wanted to cry, we went to the hotel guide Yulia and she confirmed that he was taking horrible photos. He also has an objective problem with vision, which his glasses do not solve.
The food is modest, but varied and tasty. Fish, chicken, veal, lamb were always there, except for breakfast. For lunch and dinner, sausages, fish, liver, chicken, veal are fried on the grill in the restaurant, once there were shrimps. Apples, pears, plums, watermelons, melons, grapes, peaches, not all at once, but in different combinations. Delicious sweets, a couple of extra pounds are provided. Ice cream for lunch and dinner in an unlimited number of 3-4 types. All food is present from beginning to end, apparently, that's why no one rakes up a plate with a mountain. In the hall there are waiters taking away dirty dishes or bringing drinks. The waste cart can only be seen at the end. Snacks are also available, donuts, hot and cold sandwiches. We didn’t get to a la carte, the problem was to sign up, although we tried to do it the next day after check-in. But there is a restaurant near the beach where you can sign up day in and day out.
Drinks packaged juices, soda, water. Water is brought to the room only upon check-in, but you can easily take it from the bar. The strong alcohol is all specific, the white and red wines are quite tolerable, the cocktails are very conventional. There are few of them on the menu, and the taste and color of even familiar names can be quite unexpected. You can ask to mix it to your taste. The bartender noticed that I had a runny nose and offered to mix the medicine himself. From the ingredients, I was able to recognize chamomile tea and their local alcohol. Surprisingly, the next day I felt much better!
The room was on the second floor, large, with a balcony, clean, overlooking the sea, which we did not pay. I went out to the roof of the restaurant and it was a little upsetting, but it turned out to be a big plus. I was unwell for a couple of days and my son went out on this roof to play, there was a high parapet around the edges and it was quite safe. Safe, gels, shampoos, balms, were, and a set with hats, needles - asked at the reception. I had a Tophotels certificate and an application for a compliment, the hotel does not provide it. Cleaning is normal. The air conditioner is cooling normally, not so cold to get sick, sleeping comfortably.
Internet in the lobby is free and far enough.
The sea was clean all the time, on the first day there were only waves. There are stones in the sea, big boulders. You can enter either to the left of the pontoon, or far to the right. Pontoon made of plastic, the first time I saw this. For me, such a sea is the best. The snorkeling is amazing. There are a lot of fish, crabs, plants and shells. The fish, of course, are not as colorful as in the Red Sea, but there are many of them, they are different, some even bite, like Gara rufa.
There are two pools, no special pollution was noticed on the stairs of the slides. Above, all the pools have been renovated, and in the bowl the tile joints are black.
There are very few excursions! Of all the hotels I have ever been, this is the shortest list. We went for a drive on quadrics. If on this excursion you are offered to buy a white scarf for 20 dinars, do not take it, it is not needed. It does not save from dust, it constantly moves out and is completely synthetic. And so very interesting! We also went to the market. A real oriental bazaar! You have to bargain there! The thing on it cannot cost more than 20-40 dinars. The price of any bag will be announced to you within the range of 100-150 dinars. You can really buy it for 20! And so with everything else.
In general, I was pleased with the rest. Tunisia, in my opinion, is a one-time country. Or rather, not for annual trips. The tourist potential is high, but the lack of funding and the “wildness” of the local population do not allow making a qualitative and quantitative leap. Rubbish is dumped along the roads. Probably reminiscent of Turkey 30-40 years ago.
