Ton Nai Pan Hotels
In Ton Nai Pan Bay there is accommodation for every taste and budget: if in Ton Nai Pan Noi there are mostly luxury hotels with all amenities, then its neighbor Ton Nai Pan Yai offers budget hotels and guesthouses, in including for those who decided to stay on the island for a long time.
The beaches of Ton Nai Pan
The beaches are 15 minutes walk from each other.
Thon Nai Pan Noi Beach, which is half the size of its neighbor, is considered more picturesque: the sea is deeper here and there are more bright colorful fish. You can go surfing, kayaking, beach volleyball or trekking. The nearby village of the same name has several nice bars and restaurants.
The Ton Nai Pan Yai beach is longer, the resorts here are more "stretched" along the coast and there is no village on the coast - therefore this beach is considered more calm and quiet. But there are many trails for hiking through the mountains and to waterfalls, as well as a decent selection of rocks suitable for experienced climbers.
Thong Nai Pan is the common name for two nearby beaches. One is called Thong Nai Pan Noi, another Thong Nai Pan Yai.
general information
The beaches of Thong Nai Pan are located in the northeastern part of the island. Most tourists prefer to settle closer to the main life of the island (south) or in other parts of the island (west).
On the beach Thong Nai Pan Noah expensive hotels are located. Beach Thong Nai Pan Yai occupied simpler hotels. But in both of these places, prices tend to be higher than in other parts of the island. Both beaches are close, but not within walking distance.
How to get to the beaches of Thong Nai Pan
We will assume that you have a scooter or a car. It wasn't easy to get here before. There is only one road leading here, which was in very poor condition. And it was long and hard to get here. When I got here, the road was good, and only some of its sections were problematic due to the fact that repairs were underway or a small part of it was not paved. And the later you go to the beaches, the easier it will be, because the road improves every year.
To get to the beaches, no matter how trite it sounds, you need to go towards these beaches. There is only one road and if you follow the map, it is simply impossible to get lost. On the way to the main road leading to the beaches, there are signs. And then a multi-kilometer road begins, which at the end of the path will lead you to one of the beaches of Thong Nai Pan.
My impressions
Out of season on the island, the beaches of Thong Nai Pan are the only ones of their kind where you can swim normally. Here, too, the water recedes from the shore, but not as much as on other beaches.
I liked the beach better Thong Nai Pan Noah . Somehow it was more comfortable and prettier here. On the beach Thong Nai Pan Yai there are many fishing boats near the coast, which, in my opinion, spoiled the idyll of a good beach.

Much of the route is very scenic. Lots of well paved roads. I had a lot of fun getting here.

The crown of a 53 meter tree of the species dipterocarpus, which grows near the road towards the beaches of Thong Nai Pan. The plate indicates that the tree is the largest of this species in Thailand ( Biggest yang na tree) and is 400 years old.

We stayed at Thong Nai Pan Noi for 3 days in a beachfront bungalow. During this time, we managed to enjoy this beautiful beach from the heart, relax and swim. We also looked at the nearby beach of Thong Nai Pan Yai. Looking ahead, I will immediately answer a question that is of interest to many - Noah is better. In our opinion, everything is better, from swimming to the views and development of the area. But first things first.

Thong Nai Pan Noi beach is not very big, but quite cozy and well-groomed. Everything here is like in a good quality resort. You feel like a person.
Few people and silence
It is also quiet here and there are very few tourists. If you are afraid to go to Panagan because of the Full Moon Party, then I can say that you will not notice them at all on this beach. Parties are held on the beach, which is located on the other side of the island. And if there is only one youth on Haad Rin, then a completely different contingent rests here.
Relaxing holidays at Thong Nai Pan Noi
Perhaps there will be more people in the high season, but now in May you can see for yourself how many people are on the beach. But there is life here. Tourists rest in cafes and sunbeds. Most are Europeans, but we also heard Russian speakers a couple of times. All decent normal people, no drunk or inadequate people were noticed, neither Russians nor foreign tourists. Nobody interfered with our vacation.
Sea and sand
The sand is fine and pleasant to the feet, without stones and shells. In the southern part of the beach it is not very convenient to walk on the sand. There is no glass or debris in the sand. The sea is not as bright blue and the water is not as clear as on Haad Rin. But nevertheless, swimming here is a pleasure. The bottom is clean sand. The depth increases gradually.
low tides
You can even swim at low tide. Now in May, low tides begin in the morning. But on Thong Nai Pan Noi, we swim at low tide without any problems. The water doesn't go far. It only becomes shallower, but it doesn’t take as long to go to the depth as on the neighboring Thong Nai Pan Yai. We swim every day until evening

Thong Nai Pan Noi Observation Deck at Panwiman Hotel
This observation deck is non-public and belongs to the Panviman Hotel. There is a Private territory sign in front of the stairs. So, officially you can't enter it. But if you pass modestly, then no one will notice and stop. The view is amazing from it. See for yourself!
Where to eat
Despite the presence of expensive hotels, there are many relatively inexpensive cafes and restaurants on Thong Nai Pan Noi, where the cost of meals starts from 100 baht. A good inexpensive restaurant on the left corner of the beach is Baan Tapannoi. We ate there most often, so we can recommend it. Inexpensive, cooked tasty and fast, sea view. Our average bill for two is 300 baht ($9).
There are several more beach restaurants, and on the right side of the beach there is even a whole street with a lot of cafes. This street departs from the sea in the Beach Club area. And this is not a tie-stay cafe for locals and not elite restaurants, but ordinary mid-level cafes. Very decent and cozy cafes, we could eat anywhere. There is no such street with cafes on Thong Nai Pan Yai.
Shops, ATMs, currency exchange
All infrastructure is located on the street with cafes. There are ATMs of the main Thai banks, a couple of exchangers (the course was not watched). There is no 7-Eleven on Thong Nai Pan Noi. Closest 7-11 at nearby Yai Beach. There are no large Tesco and Big C supermarkets either, and there are 2 types of small stores - dirty dark shops and bright modern CHOMPOO Minimart. In dusty shops, prices are cheaper. In these stores, in principle, you can buy everything that you may need on vacation. Water, drinks, alcohol, something to eat. The choice is not the same as in Seven. And all items are overpriced. But it's tolerable for a few days. For example, a 1.5 liter bottle of water costs 20 baht. Pack of peanuts 30 baht. Beer Chang 0.5l 60 baht.
Things to do in the evening
As you already understood, there are many cafes on Thong Nai Pan Noi and you definitely won’t stay hungry in the evening. What else can you do besides dinner? There are bars, we saw billiards, but there are no parties and discos here. So you can just walk along the beach. By 8 pm go to the island of the Panwiman hotel on the right side of the beach. There is not only beautiful lighting, but also a fire show you can watch for free.

Our feedback on this beach is only positive. This beach is for relaxing and swimming in the sea. There will be nothing to do here for those who want to party and break away. So far, of all the beaches of Koh Phangan, our favorite beaches are Haad Rin and this one.

How to get to Thong Nai Pan Noi
Judging by the reviews, many do not go to this beach, as they are afraid of bad roads. As for the broken dirt road, the information has long been outdated. Now a modern asphalt road has already been laid to the beaches of Thong Nai Pan. A taxi ride from Thongsala Pier takes about 30-40 minutes. The fare is 250-300 baht per person. Taxis on Koh Phangan are expensive. Getting there on your bike or car will also not be a problem (see the map below).
Despite the fact that over the past 4 years we have spent a total of several months on Koh Phangan, we have only been to the east coast a few times.
Due to its remoteness from the main infrastructure, this part of the island is more popular with those who come on vacation for a few days than with long-stayers, but from the point of view of a beach holiday, this is just a wonderful area!
There are a couple of wonderful, calm and very picturesque beaches, the sea is transparent, with a beautiful turquoise color, which is ideal for both children and adults.
It is here, on the beach of Thong Nai Pan Noi, that the Panviman Hotel is located,
where we stayed for a few days.

Our room/villa
We lived in the Deluxe Jacuzzi Grand room - a large two-story cottage.
There are two identical rooms in this building, with separate entrances from different sides, but we have never seen or heard our neighbors.
When we entered the room, from the first minutes it seemed very spacious to us, and we didn’t even immediately notice that we couldn’t see the door to the bathroom and toilet.
And only when we looked around did we realize that there is another floor here, where there is a shower, sink, toilet
and a spacious hot tub.
The upper room has two levels. On a small elevation there is a huge king size bed - it is so wide that lying on it along the edges, it is impossible to reach each other))
And a couple of steps below - a soft corner (sofa with chairs) and a table, a TV at the top.
Another point that made us very happy is the huge amount of working space, two whole tables, each of which could easily accommodate 3-4 people.
However, one of them can be used for tea and fruit purposes 🙂
As for the interior design, it is at its best here, everything looks very solid and stylish,
and besides, all sorts of pleasant embellishments are pleasantly pleasing,
like flowers on the bed and beautifully folded towels =)
But what we liked most about the room was, perhaps, the amazing view!
We had, in fact, our own personal observation deck on the terrace,
from which you can admire the azure sea during the day,
and in the morning enjoy the gorgeous sunrises.
In the evening, by the way, the villa is especially beautiful - inside there is a very pleasant backlight,
Yes, and the territory becomes very atmospheric.
Restaurant
The hotel has several restaurants, we had breakfast at Pan Sea Restaurant
This is a very pleasant place with an incredible panoramic view of two beaches at once. There are tables in the restaurant as on the terrace,
and indoors, under fans.
We would love to sit outside, but in the morning the sun shines just from the east side, so it's too hot there.
The choice of food for breakfast is impressive and quite varied –
many different pastries
fruits and yogurts,
variety of hot dishes
and it is also possible to order eggs prepared in various ways,
ranging from simple boiled ones to the signature fried pan - scrambled eggs with bacon, ham and sausages, which is served in a hot pan.
Another restaurant (Pool Desk Bar) is located near the pool and serves European cuisine and is open for lunch.
Its terrace overlooks Thong Nai Pan Yai Beach and the bay, which looks absolutely incredible at lunchtime!
There is also a restaurant on the beach, during the day you can order something from Thai cuisine, and in the evening, tables are set on the sand and a barbecue dinner is prepared.
Territory and pool
The hotel is located on a hilly green promontory between two beaches,
the territory here is very cozy and picturesque - there are pleasant decorative paths with statues.
and even its own small temple, where the hotel staff bring offerings. Since the territory of the hotel is very hilly, and in order to get, for example, from the restaurant to the villa, you need to overcome a steep climb, "tuk-tuks" run around the territory - cars carrying guests.
The hotel has 3 cascading pools, combined into a single system - two very small
and one bigger one.
The pools are located in a good place, so the view from them is very spectacular -
palm trees, hills, a beach, a bay with an azure sea, in general - a heavenly picture =)
There are quite a few sun loungers around the pool, when we came there were always free places, so there were no problems with where to sit.
There is a small farm in the hotel where organic vegetables are grown - I hope they serve them for breakfast)
Another nice feature of the hotel is the wooden walkways laid over the stones around the cape,
it is very cool to walk along them, especially in the morning or in the evening when it is not too hot outside.
There is also a hotel spa complex,
its distinctive feature is the individual spa villas, with sea views, so that you can enjoy not only the procedure, but also the view that opens.
On the territory of the hotel there are several pretty cool observation decks at once. Apparently, they were here even before the formation of the hotel, and now they are quite easy to get to, there are signs everywhere. One of them overlooks the beach of Thong Nai Pan Noi,
and if you walk literally a hundred meters, you can already see Thong Nai Pan Yai
The distance to the viewpoints is not very long, the paths are well equipped, so you can arrange a light workout for yourself before breakfast.
Thong Nai Pan Noi Bay Beach
Panviman Resort is located on Thong Nai Pan Noi Beach.
Here, partly on a stone pedestal, and partly right on the beach, there are several dozen sun loungers.
The beach itself is quite picturesque - 
not very long (about 500 meters), wide, with a gentle entry into the water.
In general, from the point of view of a beach holiday, in our opinion, here is one of the best places on the island.
The sea is most often calm, beautiful,
There is a small coral reef not far from the shore, so you can swim and snorkel.
And, of course, palm trees and an eternally blue sky complete the picture of a tropical paradise =)
Summary
Panviman Resort Hotel is an excellent choice for those who not only love good service and convenience, but also appreciate beauty. Comfortable villas on a hill with a stunning panoramic view of the bay are unlikely to leave anyone indifferent, and the opportunity to enjoy an incredible view not only from the room, but also from the restaurants and the pool only adds to the hotel's advantages.

The beach is located in the most beautiful bay in the northeast of Koh Phangan. The beach is divided by a high rock into two parts, in the northern bay there is a beach Thong Nai Pan Noi , where mostly expensive luxury hotels are located, in another bay, which has the shape of a crescent, there is a beach, where there are cheaper hotels. The beaches are surrounded by high mountains, densely covered with tropical vegetation.
A significant plus of the beaches of Thong Nao Pan is that you can swim on them at any time of the year. The ebbs and flows here are almost not felt. Whereas on other beaches, especially in the west of Koh Phangan, there can be significant problems with the sea: sometimes the sea goes so far that it becomes completely impossible to swim.
On the beach Thong Nai Pan Noi there is a village of the same name and several good bars and restaurants. The sand on this beach is not as white and fine as on the neighboring Thong Nai Pan Yai, but larger and beige.
The sea here is deeper and when there was calm on Thong Nai Pan Yai beach, there were waves on Thong Nai Pan Noi beach. We stopped by this beach on the day when we rode the northeast side of the island on a bike. We didn’t swim, we just stopped by to see the beach, because our main goal was to get to
On the rock that separates these two beaches, one of the most expensive hotels on the island is located - the Panviman Koh Phangan hotel, the hotel offers panoramic views of the Gulf of Thailand and the bay. Also on this mountain is an observation deck (Viw point), which is indicated on all tourist maps of Koh Phangan. But we did not find the way, how to get to it.
Thong Nai Pan Yai beach
The beach is longer and more gentle than its twin neighbour. There is no village on the shore, so this beach is even quieter and more deserted than the neighboring beach.
Thong Nai Yai beach You can get to these beaches along one road that goes through the mountains. From the port of Thong Sala, where we drove about 40 minutes by sorengo (route taxi). On a bike on this road you need to ride very carefully. We managed to fall off the bike just on this road, although before that we had traveled more than two months on Koh Samui without any problems at all. In season, you can sail to this beach and on boats from Koh Samui, which departs from the center. Keep in mind that the boat is small and floats for about 2 hours - it can get very sick.
Many tourists hesitate to go to the beaches of Thong Nai Pan because they are afraid of the road to them. Once, in 2008, a dirt road led to these beaches, which was heavily eroded during the rainy season. Now the whole road is normal asphalt. But still, I advise you to drive very carefully.

Mountain road through the jungle leads to Thong Nai Pan beach For three days we lived at the Dreamland Resort on Thong Nai Pan Yai beach. I already wrote. We really, really liked this beach 🙂 Finally, I saw the color of the sea, in which I want to swim and not get out of the water, because for some reason there was no such thing. On the beach of Thong Nai Pan Yai there is very fine white sand, the entrance to the sea is gentle.

After dinner, there were low tides, but it was still comfortable to swim. The water is very clear and warm.

Merchants do not walk along the beach, they do not offer anything (this is a plus!). On the beach you can get a massage, but there are not very many massage parlors. Here is a massage in our hotel (to the right of the restaurant), Thai massage - 300 baht, I did it, I liked it.
Massage at Dreamland Resort You can rent a kayak (we wanted to, but were too lazy) and swim to the nearby beach of Thong Nai Pan Noi. You can go diving or take a boat trip to nearby beaches. All this is organized in any hotel.
There are about 11 hotels along the coast, each with a restaurant and a bar, which is a pleasure to visit both during the day and in the evening.

The beach is very quiet, few people, mostly foreigners, families with children. Although Koh Phangan is considered an island where people come to hang out for a Full Moon Party, we did not meet such a contingent of people on Thong Nai Pan Yai beach. Rassamans, yogis and other people with informal views are also very few on this beach 🙂. At 10 pm, life stops, only in a few bars music plays softly. And this despite the fact that we were on the islands during the Full Moon Party!
Along the beach there is a central road, on which there are several tents with tour services: you can order a taxi, rent a boat, rent a bike, give things to the laundry, change money.

In the center of this street is a 7-eleven shop where you can buy water and other small things. Everything is a little overpriced. For example, water on Koh Samui at 7-eleven cost 13-15 baht, on Koh Phangan on other beaches - 15-16 baht, on Thong Nai Pan Yai beach - 18-20 baht. And such inflated prices for everything: for fruits (there is almost nowhere to buy them, on one layout we saw mangoes at 100 baht per kg (expensive!) And some green bananas. And that’s all).

If you drive to the end of the road along the Thong Nai Pan Yai beach, climb up the mountain, then you will get to the observation deck (View Point), which offers a beautiful view of two bays. We were at the lookout in gray weather, before the rain, but still the view of the sea and bays is magnificent!

Beach Thong Nai Pan Yai suitable for nature lovers, families with children and those who come for a romantic getaway. I don’t know how suitable this beach is for a long stay, because the prices are more expensive than in other places on Koh Phangan and Tesco, Big C, Macro shops are not far at all.
For me, this is one of the few beaches in Thailand where I want to return!
