For those who know why they are going.
Good afternoon I didn't want to write a review about this hotel, but after reading new reviews, I decided to share with a negative rating. We have been to Thailand 2 times before this hotel. 1 time in Pattaya, second time in Phuket. We flew all the time New Year. Both times we flew independently. This time travel agencies offered the best prices on new year holidays and we decided to fly with Anex tour. The hotel was chosen according to two principles. The cheapest and not in Patong. We had to stay in this hotel for 7 nights out of 12 in Phuket, since we were going on a diving safari right after the New Year. Arrived without delay. Since a taxi from the airport costs just over 1000 baht, we decided to take the free transfer. During the trip, the guide behaved as if we were all natives here, and she was the queen. Maybe this is everywhere, it was just my first trip on a free transfer in all my travels. We reached the hotel at 9 am. The girl at the reception told us to wait a little, she could check us in at 11 o'clock. To make us feel comfortable waiting for check-in, she went to the lobby and turned on the air conditioning and TV. But since perseverance is not a strong side of my character, we went to explore the surrounding area, look for an exchange office and bike rental. The nearest exchange office is located about a kilometer from the hotel (for those who are planning a trip: we go down along the road to the second 7eleven, there we turn left (this is the first left turn... if you go further, you will get to the beach through a stinking river) and meters in 100 there will be an exchanger). Along the way, we tried to go to bike rental shops and find out the rental conditions. We passed by those points that asked for a passport as collateral. After going around 4 or 5 points, we found a place where they give a bike with a deposit of $100. This suited us well and we became the happy owners of a two-wheeled companion. When renting, pay attention to all scratches, chips, and abrasions. Take photos of all this and note it in the acceptance certificate for the transfer of the bike. The rental cost for 5 days was 1,500 baht. Since we are large in size, we took the largest size. Smaller ones could be rented for 200-2500 baht per day. On the way back we stopped at a cafe where mostly Thais eat. From the outside it resembles a large barn without walls, there are no oilcloths on the tables, cockroaches can run through. But if you want to eat what Thais eat and not too expensive, then this cafe is for you. We dined there very often. Almost every dish costs no more than 100 baht. I remember exactly that we took tom yam for 70 baht, when in other cafes it could cost from 100 to 150 baht, and the taste could be much worse. We returned to the hotel by bike at 12 noon. We were immediately checked into a room on the first floor, first on the left. The room is big enough. There is a refrigerator, a TV with one Russian channel, a leaking air conditioner, and a non-working drain in the shower. In principle, this suited us, since at that time we did not yet know about the leaks. I found out that the air conditioner was leaking in the morning when I woke up and stepped into a puddle. I also found out about the drain not working that morning when a friend from the second floor knocked on the door and said that half the corridor was already in water. We calmly left for our small affairs and, lo and behold, in the evening everything worked and did not leak. Complaining or shouting at Thais is like banging your head against a wall, but calmly leaving the flooded room worked wonders. At two o'clock in the afternoon we had a meeting with hotel guide, and we, impressed by the conversation with the meeting guide, decided to go (so pure neighing). At the meeting, we were given five portions of noodles per ear in their own juice. Among other things, it was said that no excursions can be taken from street companies, bikes cannot be borrowed (more precisely, that no one will give them to us without pledging a passport), diving is only possible with hotel representatives. How surprised she was when I showed the bike standing next to the hotel and my passport, which remained with me. She was also very upset when she found out that excursion activities in Thailand are strictly licensed, and even they always carry a Thai with them on buses. (Foreigners (farangs) cannot work as guides.) So if you are thinking of going on excursions, but need to save money, then feel free to take them on the streets. I would like to say one thing about the hotel staff. The way you treat them will be the same way you will be treated. The first time we went to the pool, a Thai man immediately followed us and began to catch leaves from the pool with a net, I calmly took plates and cutlery into the room, went out to sit on a bench in front of the entrance and immediately a Thai man appeared, who himself, without asking, turned on us a fan and light if necessary. But it was enough to always say hello, always say thank you and smile. And if you say it in Thai... A little about breakfast at the hotel. During our rest period, breakfast was more like lunch. On the table there were: scrambled eggs, sausages, bacon, rice, pasta, lettuce, cucumbers, tomatoes, peppers, toast, fruit and several Thai dishes. People from other hotels also came to our hotel for breakfast and there was always enough food, even at 10 am. A little about cleaning the room. The bed was changed every three days, as befits three stars. Towels were changed every day. The trash was taken out every day, the floors were washed every day. I can say the following about the pool. If you like to spend time around it, then this hotel is not for you. Everything is very old, there are no umbrellas, the tiles in the pool have fallen off in places. We don’t like to sit in one place, so in the morning we got on the bike and rode wherever our eyes took us. Where I advise you to go: 1. Statue big buddha. 2. Gibbon Trail 3. Botanical Garden. 4. Snake farm. 5. Waterfalls (provided it rained) 6. If you like to have fun at night, then Patong with its famous Bangla Road (if you go by bike, it’s best to leave in advance, otherwise it will be very difficult to find a parking place) 7. I recommend the beaches Nai Harn Beach (a small cozy beach with developed infrastructure), a secluded Kat Noi beach without shops or cafes, if you want to get away from civilization, then from Patong beach there are longtails (long boats with a motor) on which you can sail to the beach for 1000 baht freedom (everything on it is paid for, including sunbeds and umbrellas, as well as a very expensive cafe where you need to sign up in advance to have a snack). 8. I also highly recommend taking a steam bath in a Thai bath (if you go there in the first days, acclimatization will go unnoticed). 9. If you are a steak lover, then there is a wonderful steak house on Kata, and on Nai Harn you can find an Austrian restaurant where you can grill your own meat on stones. The meat in them is simply amazing, and even before the sanctions in Moscow I had never tried anything like this.
Summarizing. This hotel is simply gorgeous, provided that you don’t want to sit for days on end in the hotel or near the pool, but only come to spend the night, you took a bike or car to get around, you have a healthy indifference to everything and you know why you are going to Thailand. My advice on cash. If you want to indulge yourself in Thailand and be happy, then take at least 150 dollars a day for two.
