Hum Croatia. Hum - the smallest city in the world

What is decisive to receive the settlement of the status of the city? I think that the overwhelming majority of respondents will call the main indicator - the population. Almost right, if we proceed from modern realities. On the recommendation of the UN, the city is recognized as a settlement with the number of residents of more than 20,000 people.

But it was not always so. Initially, the appearance of cities and obtaining this status was determined by the presence of urban, and in those days, and at the same time fortress walls. It is known that Jericho became the first city on Earth. Therefore, the population of the population in that period did not play the role. As, however, in the Middle Ages, when the status of the city could be obtained from the hands of the monarch or buy, the most often used the townspeople. In short, when determining the status of the smallest city in the world, a decisive role was not played by a legal, historical aspect.

Fortress Wall of the City Hum

If such an explanation is convincing, then I present the smallest city of the world. This city Hum, Located on the territory of modern Croatia, at an altitude of 349 meters above sea level. The fact is recorded in the Guinness Book of Records. To date, in the city of permanent residents - 23 people.

Interesting fact!Hum was born in 1040. On the ruins of the ancient fortress the castle was built and several residential buildings around him. Over the years of existence, the fortress city has repeatedly destroyed, burned down. And he reborn again. AT for different years Hum visited France, Italy, Austria, Yugoslavia, Croatia.

Temple and Chapel in Huma

And today the city is not some kind of god forgotten. His residents are actively involved in the cultural and political life of the community Buzet (such as our district center). In the city annually from among men, Zapan (mayor) of the city is elected. For this event, residents of neighboring villages are gathering and despite the fact that only a few men participate in the election (women in the city of electoral law do not have), the holiday is organized for everyone. By the way, the "Humcha" themselves, the election procedure of the challenges is called "the elections of a fool for the year." After all, all concerns about the city lay on his shoulders.

Another annual holiday held at the end of October is a grappa festival in Hume, which manufacturers of "firewater" come from all over Istria.

To the festival everything is ready

In the town of Two streets, there is the main square on which the Church of the Ascension of Mary (1802) and the hour tower (1522), but apparently, the parishioners of the church are not only 23 urban residents, but Christians from nearby villages. By the way, the most closely is associated with the village of Roche, and spiritually, and by means of created in 1977-1983. Six kilometer "Alley of the Glagolitsa". It is built in memory of Cyril and Methodius, about the result of their work. It was here for the translation of divine books from Greek to Slavic languages, the brothers created the first Slavic alphabet "Glagolitsa". They were in Huma.

The alley is designed for tourists and is represented as 11 monuments from stone, which symbolize the main milestones in creating the verbs. Ends this complex another landmark of Huma-Korodskie gate, hinge made by copper sheets. They accommodated 12 medallions, in line with months of the year. The medallions show plots showing the main activities in one or another month. For those in the old Slavonic language, it takes better than me, one of the medallions I brought ...

The city is called the settlement, most of whose population is not engaged in agriculture. Cities can be big and small. Each city has its own history and their problems. And one has no rest. Big cities, Metropolis, suffocating from their problems, and small - from their own.

In the USSR and in the current Russian Federation, the city is not quite an "adult", which, however, retains its urban nature, was considered the village of urban type. Formally, the number of such "town" was to exceed 2-3 thousand people. That is, the minimum tolerances in the city had to live 500 to 700 families.

In general, if we reasonably, the city should have some minimal number, in which the city can still perform the functions inherent in it. This number can be estimated in different ways. But it is unlikely that even the biggest optimist will be able to assume that the population of the city may be ... 17 people.

Meanwhile, the Guinness Book, which, as is known, knows everything, claims that this is exactly the population in the smallest city in the world, in the Croatian town of Hum.

Hum - Croatski is "Hill". In Italian, this town was called "colmo". Accordingly, its name, the city of Hum is located on the top of the hill. The height of this hill is 349 m. The nearest city of the city - Roche (5-7 kilometers) and Buzet, which is 14 kilometers to the north-west of Huma. The city is surrounded by a high fortress wall, in which there are single, hinge, gates. From the gate of the city of Huma to Rocking the "Alley of Glabolitsa" stretches. This is the road along which a variety of sculptural monuments are exhibited in the form of letters of the Slavic alphabet of the verbs.

Hum is a city, albeit small, but ancient. Castrum Cholm Fortress was founded around 1060 (11th century - no huhry muffins!) On the ruins of even more ancient, Roman, alarms. The hill soon received the city status. At the beginning of the 15th century, the city was vassal of the Venice Republic.

As you can see, the city knew and better days. Even in the 20th century. In the 1920s, the population of Huma reached almost 1,000 people, in the 1930s - about 850 people. But after World War II, urban residents have become less than a hundred. And the absolute minimum was achieved in 2001 - the same 17 people who could not not notice the Guinness Book of Records. Now 30 people live in the city. Significant growth, almost 100 percent!

Of course, Hum itself does not proceed. Life is warm in it thanks to tourists. The city is pleased to show yourself visit.

What do you show? First, the city wall, which reached this day from the middle of the 14th century. The city leads the only gate closing on the Casov and an urgent iron. At least now play role-playing games! Behind the wall - two small urban streets, cobbled, with old houses.

Secondly, the city demonstrates tourists two small Catholic churches. One of them is the church of St. Jerome, built in the 12th century. The second church is relatively young, it is built in 1802 and is devoted to the Ascension of Mary. This church was built in 1802. In the temple of Saint Jerome, old frescoes and graffiti are not bad are preserved. A small number of inscriptions on the verb is located at the local museum, which also leads tourists.

The Third Monument of Starns in the city of Huma is the middle of the 16th century middle tower.

What else Hum pleases tourists? Shop and restaurant. The restaurant in Croatski is called "Konoba". The "Humska Konoba" restaurant serves a local BISKA brandy, which is patriotic, although the few townspeople call "Cognac".

It is better to come to Hum in mid-June. This month the elections of the urban head are held, or as they are called in Croatia, Zafana. All men of the city take part in the elections. Position This although the honorable, but not rich, and besides, the hassle of the large owner of the smallest city on the planet - full of mouth. Money city practically does not earn, sits on the budget. Most of the unnoticed population of Huma are older people. So engage in social issues of the city of Zafana is closely. Do not envy!

What is the best way to drive from Ukraine to Croatia and vice versa. We share the optimal route of the trip. Where is the smallest city in the world. How to get to him, which see where to stay. According to the Guinness Book of Records, the city of Hum (HUM) is the smallest city on the planet and has only 27 inhabitants. This is a fabulous town that has been preserved since the Middle Ages. To visit here seem to return to the distant past. Our route took place a few kilometers from Huma. Well, how was it not to come? In this part of the Travel Report to Croatia, I will tell you more about this interesting city And about our trip from the pool to Ukraine.

Our holiday on the sea in Croatia approached the end. Read about your impressions here:

Useful information for relaxing in the pool We wrote in the author's guide:

It's time to return home. The optimal route from Croatia to Ukraine passes through Hungary: Pula- Zagreb - Budapest - border to Beregovo PP Luzhanka (or in C. Kosino PP Kosino) - Lviv - Kiev. Pula distance - Kiev 1725 km. Travel with two stops for the night - in Budapest and Lviv. This is how the route looks like on the map:

Hum is the smallest city in the world.

It turns out 8 km from Pula - Rijeka, 80 km from Pula and 40 km from Reka, there is the smallest city in the world. It is called Hum. We decided to visit him on the way home.

How to get to Huma. This is rarely visiting tourist buses. Tourists better get to Huma car. At the town of Lupoglav, we moved from the auto Pula-Rijek (E751), paid the road at the payment point. The city of Hum leads a narrow asphalt country road. It takes place under high overpass, on which the autobahn is laid.

The road to Humu places are so narrow that with counter transport it is difficult to rear. Therefore, tourist buses are not massively driving.

Entrance to the town of Hum paid. For a passenger car, we paid - 10 kun (approx. 1.5 euro).

Nearby there is a large parking.

We go to the medieval fairy tale. This is how the Hum looks like.

Hum is an ancient city-fortress, which is located on a hill with a height of 350 m. There is a legend that they were built by giants from giant stones. Although history proves that at this place a couple thousand years ago a Roman settlement existed. In his place in the XI century, Marcgraf Ulrich I built a fortress. During this period, the settlement was assigned the status of the city. It was called "Castrum Cholm", from Italian - "Hill Fortress".

During the years of its existence, Hum was under various dominance: the Venice Republic, the Austrian Empire, under the rule of Napoleon and the First French Republic, under Italy and Yugoslavia. Since 1991, this is a Croatian city. During World War II, the population of the city was 450 people, but on the eve of the invasion of the National Liberation Army of Yugoslavia almost all of them left the city. There are several families. People were afraid of repression. After the war, with the arrival of the power of Yugoslavia, the city was renamed to "Hum", translated from the Croatian "Hill". In the smallest city in the world, 27 people live. And in 2001, only 17 people lived.

Vorotoa is the main and only entrance to the city. These stone walls are over 500 years old. As in the old days, urban gates closes overnight. I wonder what he is the smallest city? We go inside.

The city gate has been preserved since 1562, were restored by the Blacksmiths a few years ago. On massive doors - 12 characters - symbols of all months of the year. Each depicted types of domestic or field work inherent in each season. There is also inscriptions on the verbolitz who welcome all guests with good intentions and threaten enemies.

Inside the city gate.

Immediately near the gate - the main square of Huma. She is very small. It is located on it of the Bell Tower of 1552 and the parish church of the Ascension of Mary, which has been over 200 years.

In the city there are 2 streets and 13 houses. It is possible to get around it for 15-20 minutes, or even less. The streets and houses are very authentic, because nothing has changed more than 500 years. It seems that I got into the Middle Ages. So wait for a resident of ancient clothes from the house.

As in every city, the judge, police officer, a fireman, doctor live in the smallest of them. There is here and your mayor - city Zafan (or Prefect). This position is symbolic, it is also called the "Position of Fool". Why? The city lives mostly pensioners. And Zafana has to solve all their big and small problems. Therefore, candidates for this position are difficult to find))) The election of the symbolic head of the city takes place every year in June on the city day. According to the old tradition, only men from Huma and surrounding villages participate in it, voted by applying notches to a special rod. Ends the ceremony of the holiday with traditional dancing and songs.

Around all the elegant, decorated with flowers. Some houses are closed, but the elegant and neat. In Huma, there is a charter, through which all owners of housing should take care of him, even if they live and work outside the city. Therefore, residents arrive at the weekend and "like beauty" in their "possessions".

An ancient urban tower set a bench. Nice to sit here and admire landscapes.

In the smallest city in the world there are several colorful souvenir shops, a wine bar, a traditional restaurant "Humska Konoba". For tourists in Huma opened hotels and apartments.

For example, these are colorful apartments Apartment Dores. and Guest House Sobe Dores .

Located in the souvenir shop-museum.

One room is the Museum of ancient traditional people's life.

And the other room is a shop with local souvenirs: honey, wines, truffles, chocolate with various interesting fillers (we purchased with lavender), Handmade products, paintings, decorations, local alcoholic beverages.

Again surprised the hospitality of Croats. The seller asked buyers from what country they are and immediately passed into their language. Spoke in French, German, Italian, English. And when I learned that we were from Ukraine, I said with a smile: "Porozum_mo". After all, Croatian and Ukrainian are a bit like. Pleasantly!

Among the souvenirs they saw such signs. These are the letters of the verbs - the ancient Slavic alphabet created by Cyril in 860. (Brothers Kirill and Methodius are known as the creators of Slavic writing). What is the Hum here? 7 km from here is famous in Croatia ROCH. There was printed in 1483 the first Croatian book. The priest was the priest Yuri Zhakia. He published the book "Officer" on Croatian with the use of verbs.

In memory of this between the cities of Hum and Roche installed the "Alley of Glabolitsa". The road on both sides decorate the stone sculptures in the form of letters of the verbs. You can get to the alley on foot or by car.

This terrain of traditional wines, strong brandy "BISKA", fillings based on various herbs, fruits and berries. They are made mainly in the neighboring town of Buzet, 14 km from here. But the home brandy "Humska Biska" is an authentic local product made on herbs. The secret of its production is maintained by the inhabitants of Huma almost 2 thousand years. Serve brandy in a restaurant and a bar of the city.

The souvenir shop also offers tasting of traditional alcoholic beverages. You can choose an option to taste. I'm driving, so this "honorary mission" went to Lena. Bought a delicious grape liquor. A little unusual product for us, because before from grapes we used only wine and brandy.

Return to parking. At the entrance to the city - the colorful old house.

Outside the city walls there is an old cemetery. With it, the Church of St. Jerome, built in the XII century.

Somehow did not expect to see the old telephone booth here. Against the background of the thousand-year-old city, it looks like a miracle of civilization.

We visited Huma, as in a fairy tale. It seems that the story here comes to life. In this city, everything is in fact: people live on vintage streets, the only city gates closes overnight, traditions continue from a long time. Everything is very interesting and authentic.

It's worth going here. It can be a short watch journey into the past (as our) or high-quality rural holiday for several days. There are many cycling and hiking routes, incredible nature, calm, delicious food and beverages, colorful terrain.

Croatia's border - Hungary.

Croatian autobahn reached the border with Hungary. Only the Zagreb spent time in traffic due to the repair of the road. About everything you need to know for a trip to Croatia, read this article:

Puntk Pass on the border of Croatia - Hungary is located on the autobahn E 65 - M7. Here is the united customs of the two countries. Documents were taken from Croatian border guards, and Hungarian was already given with all stamps. I liked that it was not necessary to run (like us) to the windows at customs. From the car came out only to open the trunk. The border went without any problems in 40 minutes. I think we were lucky. Usually, in the summer season here is longer than.

I really like Hungarian autobahn. Than? Read here:

Minus - after such a rich day - fatigue is guaranteed)). You can complete the tourist day and restore the strength in the swimming pools, located near the Vaidakhunyad castle.

Budapest in two days. You can stay for two nights on the way to Croatia and for two nights on the way back. First day - familiarity with the party Royal Palace, Rybatsky Bastion, Mount Hellert. It is located in the area Buzet. (i.e. it is part of the city community of Buzet), which is part of the press Istra (Istria). For the correct understanding: županija - not from the names of a large buttock muscle popular in Russia, but from the "Geeba" - an administrative unit in the lands of the Western and South Slavs. Zafan - respectively, the elder of the community (district, area - causing), in modern reading - the governor. (Here, of course, only the lazy will not think about their head of the region, that, they say, the "Zupan" and will be right)). They cannot but rejoice and such Balkan toponyms like the upper head or lower head. Medium did not find.

So, the Croatian town of Hum, positioned as Najmanji Grad Na Svijetu ("The smallest city in the world", Serb.-Horv.), I must say, not Hilo is presented on network resources: from the sites of tourist companies to LJ blogs. Therefore, the originality on the topic, 17 or 23 people live in it, I will not.

Wiki says that in 2011 27 people were listed in Huma. The maximum number was in the "Fortress on the Hill" - 450 people. It was during World War II. How many of them were in 2008, when I am with my wife and her parents were divided into "a wonderful hail on the hill", I do not know. Did not count. But apparently, at least twenty. With one of them, the seller in the local ethno-shop, I even chatted on the theme of strong folk homemade drinks. And even drank (this is what I am a fighter for sobriety :)).

Physico-geographically Hum is located on the southwest slope of the mountain range of the ridges - Chichariya (ćićarija), which stretches from the village. Kozina (Slovenia) to Rijeka (Croatia). This oronym was received by the name of the local novel-speaking population of Eastrochemenov, whom Croats are called chichami or chirira.

Pro biscuit It makes sense to write especially, since Biska, positioned as the Croatian People's Brand Mogon, was born in those days when Galla / Galeli (who became Scotti and Celts) were chasing Romeev and vice versa. So the beat of the ancient Irish and Scottish options is definitely. Yes, yes, I'm talking about whiskey. True, Gaelov, which lives in Ireland Whisky (Polnic name Pothin - "distillation cube") is referred to as Uisce Beatha (Irish pronunciation. Equivalent in Scottish (Galic) language is represented as "Izuzi-Bitha".

Biscuit / BISKA is a home brandy, which is prepared from grape brandy, white mistletoe and four types of herbs. The recipe is about 2000 years. This is the rest of the magic of Druids of the ancient Celts, which once inhabited these parts. White mistletoe (Víscum Album) was a cult plant of ancient Celts. Biscuit is famous for its healing properties, it is one of the best natural medicines from arteriosclerosis and to regulate high and low blood pressure.

The word "whiskey" is an English-speaking version arising from the wrong understanding of the word uisce in Ireland or UISGE in Scotland. UISCE Beatha phrase, literally "water of life," was named Irish monks of the early Middle Ages to designate distilled alcohol, which were transferred by Latin Aqua Vitae. By the way, somewhere near and the semantics of Russian vodka (vodka - i.e., "Voditsa", in the sense of not just water, but a special, "live").

Drinking by the story of Alchemy, I note, referring to R. Cavendish, the author of the famous book "Black Arts", which alkimia alcohol called Aqua Ardens - fiery water ("For it is simultaneously liquid, and combustible; it was believed that it consists of fire and water , and, therefore, is a special form of philosophical stone). Some medieval alchemists believed that alcohol is a certain form of quintessence (Quint - "Five", Essence - "Essence"), a pure fifth element, from which heaven is created "(with a distillation of alcohol, condensate glasses in the distiller, and as a result of circulation, the liquid was separated Two layers: the muddy lower ("earth") and the upper - pure-blue ("heaven"). So the book is even more "water of life", rather than the northern version of Scott and Gaelov, since the composition of the becky is richer (and useful ))).

Prepare biscuit based on grape brandy, white mistletoe and four types of herbs, i.e. it is rather brandy in a modern classification of alcohol, while whiskey in a rare case (in French Brittany, for example) drive out of buckwheat, and standard - from cereals (barley etc.).

In general, a biscuit can be bought near any town or village right by the road. Local residentsAs a rule, they offer a whole range of homemade alcohol - from the plumant to the alcohol and travarians. That is, Croats are chased from everything that grows. Immediately, on remote shelves / stands, offered a home snack: from sheep cheese to honey. By the way, we took home from the local ladies, the "head" of smoked sheep cheese (and brought to Yekaterinburg), at the same time looked, with the permission of the owners, life and the economy of Croatian agrarians. Not bad, but, it seems, they also survive. Moreover, for joining the EU, Croatia was presented with a considerable "telephone" of requirements for agriculture.

After Croatia in 2013 entered the EU, she experienced a powerful crisis, including in the agrarian sector. If, in the year of my stay (2008), the dynamics of the previous year in agriculture was 108%, then in the 2014 it was up to 92%. And in such a dynamics for all indicators.

Finishing the spoke of drinks, I will note another pelinkovac (Pelinkovac) - bitter or bitter liqueur, infused on wormwood (Pelin) and other aromatic herbs.

We tried the biscus with the test on the first day of arrival, being on T'rzhnice (market) in Porec (from where he did from the cities and the weighs of Istra). A responsive good kind of drain in the "Shakhnitsa" suggested us to try from every bottle (and it was in the morning, and the market was empty) grams of 25-30. Having found us after 15 minutes, the wives, from which we fought "for a minute," looking into the ranks with a local moonshine, stated in one voice: "So you are drunk!". "Yes!" - We joyfully stated.

The Red-White Shakhovnitsa serves as a heraldic symbol of the Croatian state, was present on the coat of arms of the country throughout history, including the period of the Socialist Republic of Croatia as part of Yugoslavia. The first appearance of Shakhovnitsa as a state symbol belong to the period of the King of Croatia Stepan, Dřislav (X century). The oldest preserved documents with Shakhnitsa as a state symbol belong to the beginning of the XVI century, when it was part of the coat of arms of the Habsburgs and symbolized the union of the tribes of the Red and White Croats. There is a historically unconfirmed legend about the appearance of Shakhovnitsa after winning chess by the Croatian King by Svetoslav Drochiy (from the Tpimirovic dynasty, which ruled in 997-1000) in the Venetian Dadge in the party, which was the bet in which Dalmatia (Croatia's causation) .http: // www. mirkrasiv.ru/reference/phrasebooks/russian-Croatian.html.

Many mysteries are associated with the origin of the verbolic Slavic letter. One of them, the main thing is that among the scientist of Briat has not yet been withdrawn from the discussion: Which of the two Slavic ABC was the original: Cyrillic or verbs? What of which created (self or with the participation of Brother Methodius) Junior Solunyanin - i.e. Kirill? It seems that, according to the logic of things, affordable and man, a little knowledgeable in the question, Cyril - the author is just that alphabet, which is named after him. However, it seems that Kirill (he is also Konstantin philosopher) invented in the 9th century just a verb. Actually, not even invented - rather, he recreated on the basis of, most likely, or a runic letter, or the Greek "spectacle letter", more modern writing for that time. Some letters also resemble the grafts of the Samaritian alphabet. The oldest Slavic manuscripts in Europe are executed just a verbian. (Regarding the Slavic population of future Germany, Italy, Croatia, etc. - that is, Rusi Polabskaya and Pomeranian, puddles, rash masses, wet, see my post of Rasha, scattering, rashka. On the meaning of names or that in the name of yours: Rasha, Rashka, Serbia?).

There were two main facilities (format) of the verbs - a rounded, common in Bulgaria and later angular, used in Croatia. I note the gothic letter (existing in several, latinized, forms) may occur based on the verbs. Also, those who are interested in the unmanifest history of the elite of Europe (the theme of sacred blood, etc.), they certainly know that the kings of France, taking the throne, pinned hand on the so-called. Reims Gospel (from the XI century) in the Reims Cathedral. Moreover, the Gospel of this was "unclean" for the Latinized descendants of gallov and francs, because it was written at the "Angelic Language". But it was clear to the carriers of the Russian language. For some of him written the verbs. In any case, in 1717, Peter I loud read the miners of the Reims Cathedral of the "Book of Angels", before that considered unreadable.

Reims Gospel - Church Slavonic Parchment Manuscript. The first part of it containing the reading of the festive gospels on the rite of the Orthodox Church, written by Cyrillic; The second, containing the Gospel, Apostolic Messals, Palevia for Holidays on the Roman Catholic Calendar, was written in 1395. Croatian (angular) verbs, monks of the Emmaus Monastery, founded in Prague in 1347, to commit Catholic worship in Slavic. In the verbal part of the scribe-czech made a bohemis, so it belongs to the Croatian-Czech Issue. At the end of this part there is an entry on czech language The verbian, in which the scribe reports that the Cyrillic part is written by the reverend proof by Sazavsky. In fact, this part is not so ancient origin. It belongs to the Russian Issue and was donated to the Emmaus Monastery by Emperor Karl IV. http://www.istpravda.ru/artifacts/9821/

The history of the creation of the verbian gospel is associated with the identity of Anna Yaroslavna - the youngest of the three daughters of the Kiev prince Yaroslav Wise from marriage with Ingegeryd Swedish. Anna grew up at the princess yard in Kiev and received a good education: Greek and Latin knew in his youth. In the middle of the XI century, Anna moved to Reims, becoming the wife of the French king Heinrich I and Queen France. The gospel was part of her dowry, and it was on this book Anna Yaroslavovna brought her oath when coronation. Many years later - perhaps it happened in the XIV century, the Russian Gospel joined the Gospel with another "Slavic" - the Gospel, recorded in Czech, the verbs. It is believed that the book was written somewhere in "Ugrya" (i.e. Hungary) and was donated to the Emmaus monastery with Emperor Carl IV. From the Emmaus Monastery, the gospel was listed by Czechi-Hussites in Constantinople, where it was acquired by Cardinal Charles Larring, donated the manuscript in Reims cathedral. Here it was kept - from the middle of the XVI century - as a mysterious oriental manuscript; It swore French kings when coronation.

In addition to the Reims Gospel to the XI century, there are several oldest Cyrillic manuscripts of Ancient Russia: Ostromiro Gospel of 1056-1057, Svyatoslav Zamoloslav 1073, Calposlava, the Arkhangelsk Gospel of 1092, Savina Book, without traces of washing (i.e., paletmp. In general, some scientists believe that the Cyrillic Azbutic tradition was established later, after the death of Cyril, and not even in the middle of the first students, and after them - writers and scribes who worked in the Bulgarian kingdom in the X century. Through their through, as you know, the Cyrillic ABC was distributed in Russia.

Entertainment and sights Huma

Today, the Hum is a monument city and one of the rare well-preserved samples of the city, the development of which took place exclusively inside the early-conductive walls. From the beginning of its foundation to the present in Huma, abroad, there was practically no foundation, the population remained to live within the boundaries established in the early middle ages.

In Huma, the frescoes created in the second half of the 12th century were perfectly preserved. At that time, the Hum belonged to the Akvillesky dynasty, which, most likely, ordered their manufacture. The author of the frescoes is unknown, but his skill testifies to us that we are talking about a high-class professional, whose creations cannot be compared with any other in Istria and in its neighboring areas. The frescoes are made in the spirit of the romantic West and, at the same time, under the influence of Byzantine art. In the Romanesque Chapel of St. Herolim in the Humsky cemetery, very old wall-mounted drawings of high quality are partially preserved.
